Becoming a public school educator has been a passion of mine since I was 10. Many people can not understand why teachers get paid poorly, they work with children, and they have to deal with children who are rough around the edges. So I want to become a teacher to help children who are challenged by authority. They need an outlet and someone they can confide in, and I want to be that while also helping them learn. I want to work at a school that is a low-income area so that I can help the children at the school. Some of my ideas to help the children includes: having snacks in my classroom so they can grab some if they are hungry and having hygienic items available like toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, and other items. Every child needs a trusted adult and someone who provides for them, so I hope to be one to all the children I teach in the future. I want to go to college for Birth-Kindergarten Education or Elementary Education if the school does not have a Birth-Kindergarten program. I was inspired to become a kindergarten teacher because I once heard someone say, "I became a kindergarten teacher so I can be kids' first teacher and mold their outlook on school in the future by setting a great foundation." Once I heard those words, it stuck with me, and I knew that is the type of teacher I want to be because I can help children mentally but also help determine how they want their future. I have always loved being around and babysitting younger children; they have always gravitated toward me. My mom and grandma used to call me the baby whisperer because I could always get babies and young children to calm down and play or fall asleep. So it is destiny that I become a kindergarten teacher. Knowing I have had a significant impact on someone's life will allow me to know I have a higher purpose. Also, every child needs the reassurance of knowing that there is someone who loves them and cares for them. Not every child has a parent that nurtures them and displays their love for them. Not to mention, I love being around children because they are a ray of sunshine when life is becoming overwhelming. I want to positively impact my future students while helping them obtain the necessary resources.

Growing up, it's always been my mother and me, my dad lives in Maryland, so I rarely see him. My mother has been my backbone and has supported me every day educationally. In third grade, I got my first F on a test, I cried as if someone had just passed away, and my mom talked to my teacher, and he explained to her why I got the F and how I could improve next time. She helped me learn the material and thoroughly explained it, so I understood it. That's only one instance she's always there whether I'm getting inducted into an honor society, there is a concert she's there. I'm forever grateful, and I'll love her forever for everything she does. My mother didn't finish college, so she wants to be there and support me so that I can go to college and finish. I want to go to college so that her hard work supporting me doesn't go to waste. Seeing how much time and effort she puts into my education makes me grateful to have someone like her, knowing not everyone has a support system. She does whatever she can to make sure I'm educationally successful, whether it's emailing a teacher, or learning the material herself to teach me, she'll do it. Once again, for that, I'm forever grateful for everything she does for me.

My favorite book is Concrete Rose by Angie Thomas because it gives a look at Maverick Carter's life when he was a teenagers. This book is a spin off to The Hate U Give.
