My plans for after receiving my Class A drivers license is to join the company of Werner. We had a recent visit from a lot of trucking companies, such as Werner, Swift and Warner specifically stuck out to me because of the amount of women that are at this company. The recruiter displayed a lot of safety and reassurance about the companies’, regulations and policies that really align with what I want to do as a truck driver.  because of the financial burden. I’m in at this time. I will immediately be going to work to reassure that my family has a home. It means the world to me to be in this field to truly work for what you earned. I remember when I first got my CDL license it was extremely nerve-racking of how much stress I was under to get it. Having my CDL class B has given me a very eye-opening world out there of opportunities in this career to pursue in my last field of work was motor coach. Specifically working for GreyHound was a great experience for myself. I got to experience different stories, different people traveling back-and-forth to Canada, really gave an eye opening field of the road. I was also able to acquire through the company at that time my passport, which, for some is very hard to do at this time, in the state of the economy and how things are right now. I take these opportunities and experiences very serious and after I get my license going straight into the field that I want, is a dream for me. it would mean so much to me if I was given the opportunity to have this scholarship added to my debt so I can stay focused. Good afternoon, My name is Rasheequa Davis. I am a 35-year-old mother of a four-year-old son, and I’m looking to get assistance in furthering my education in my field, which is CDL. I achieved getting my Class B license 5 years ago, and I’ve recently begun working towards getting a Class A license. My life has had its ups and downs. Recently, I lost my job, which I thought would be the last job to continue my career in this field, but sadly, I was mistaken. Because of this change, I haven’t allowed this crucial moment to stop me from achieving my goal. I’ve recently been putting myself in school, which is NETTS Trucking School in Bridgeport, CT, and for the last couple of months, it’s been an astounding experience going back to a trade school to continue my education. For me, because I have experience driving motor coaches, school buses, and city buses, it’s like starting over from the beginning, relearning what I thought I knew. Even though I’m being steadfast in my goal, financially, it’s been a struggle. I’m applying to this scholarship because I believe those going over this application will see that I am a dedicated individual in trying to secure a peaceful life for my son and his future. I’ve been told in my work field that I am a very dedicated person. I’m always on time, and I get along with a lot of my coworkers to this day. I’m still in contact with a lot of my old coworkers from years ago. I really want this field to work for me. I think in my lifetime, this is the most I've been dedicated to a career path, and I have endured the ups and downs of it, and I refuse to leave it. For me, I believe this is the field for me, this will be the career I'll spend the rest of my life in because I truly enjoy what it has to offer. I think that my last job, which was Greyhound, really imprinted on me what I can become as a driver on the road. Learning and travelling all around this vast country I've lived my entire life in, and I have barely scratched the surface of what it has to offer. I truly want to own a home. I'm 35 years old, and I've been living in apartments my entire life, and I've never truly experienced what it's like to have the "white picket fence." I want my son to have what I've always wanted growing up, which is stability, a proper foundation, not moving from place to place. Anyone who's been working as hard as I have would want to fulfill that goal. My name is Rasheequa Davis, and I’m interested in receiving my CDL Class A because, I’m continuing my education. I already have my class b license, and want upgrade my license. I’ve always enjoyed road work, and traveling and so far, with my 4 year experience I’ve been able to get an ounce of freedom which this field has provided for me. My most recent job was a bus operator with Greyhound Motorcoach Company, and let me tell you, it’s been a very great eye opener on what the road has to offer. I’ve experienced interacting with customers, handling and deescalating issues, handling my bus to make sure it’s clear for travel. Experiencing weather changes, and working on my bus engine to make sure it is safe for me and my passengers to travel in. I’d like this field to be my only career path, the amount of focus and hard work to get my CDL on the first attempt was my greatest achievement, (outside of me being a mother). My plan is to have a steady stream of income, with what this license can and will provide me, so far I’ve learned being on the road is where this plan can and will be executed to achieve it. While I am a current student right now, after my graduation in September, I will have guaranteed work with options to pick from different companies looking for drivers. The school I’m in is New England Tractor Trailer School CT, and working with financial aid and the administration they have a guaranteed success rate of students graduating and gaining employment right after. Which for myself and my goal, this is something I’m looking forward to gaining. If anyone could speak on my behalf on why they would recommend me for receiving said scholarship is my manager Kailey Kilduff. I’ve been working with her for almost a year now and I believe she could explain her thoughts on my case. I’m very excited for getting back into classroom and gaining my Class A certification, I’ve worked so long in this field and experienced a lot of hardships, financial issues, inconsistency with jobs, and no real balance in being a mom and a provider. I honestly think getting this upgrade can and will change that for me, and so far from what I’ve been learning, it has great benefits that I’m looking for.
