I’m a former teacher and coach turned doctoral student in Higher Education, passionate about helping students find their way. Outside of academics, I’m a manga fanatic, a traveler who’s always chasing the next adventure, and a concert-goer who thinks life’s better with music in the background. I bring the same energy and creativity to my work with students that I bring to exploring new cities, discovering new bands, and geeking out over my favorite series.

Teaching has never been just about delivering content for me. It is about learning alongside students, about growing leaders, and about making authentic connections that inspire curiosity and action. From my time as a high school social studies teacher to advising hundreds of college students, I have witnessed the transformative power of education. I have seen students discover strengths they did not know they had, challenge themselves in ways that felt impossible, and embrace learning as an adventure rather than a requirement. Those moments reaffirm why teaching matters to me. It is about activating minds, cultivating curiosity, and creating spaces where students feel seen, heard, and capable of reaching their full potential.
Throughout my career, I have approached teaching as an exploration. Every lesson, every advising session, every mentorship opportunity is a chance to discover not just what students know, but what they are capable of becoming. As a coach, I learned the value of motivation and strategy, seeing firsthand how leadership and teamwork can elevate performance. As an advisor, I watched how guidance, encouragement, and intentional questioning can open doors and shift trajectories. These experiences taught me that teaching is not simply about transmitting knowledge; it is about nurturing the whole person, building confidence, and helping learners connect the dots between effort and growth.
My passion for teaching extends beyond individual growth. I am committed to cultivating future leaders who can navigate complex challenges, think critically, and contribute meaningfully to their communities. I want my students to leave my classroom or advising sessions not only with knowledge, but with a sense of agency and curiosity that drives them forward. I want to foster environments where learning is dynamic and collaborative, where exploration is encouraged, and where discovery is celebrated. This is why I pursue graduate studies in Educational Studies and why I am dedicated to leadership and innovation in higher education.
At the same time, teaching is also a journey of growth for me. I am continually learning new approaches, exploring different ways to engage students, and refining my own understanding of leadership and equity in education. Every interaction, every classroom discussion, and every mentoring relationship challenges me to think more deeply, to approach problems creatively, and to remain committed to fostering inclusive, empowering spaces. Teaching is not a one-way street; it is a shared journey of curiosity, discovery, and transformation.
Ultimately, my goal as an educator is to inspire students to take ownership of their learning, to embrace challenges, and to see themselves as capable of impact. I hope to help them cultivate curiosity, leadership, and resilience while continuing to grow myself. Teaching is about exploration, discovery, and connection, and it is in these spaces that I find purpose, energy, and the motivation to keep learning alongside the students I am privileged to serve
