I want to be a crime scene investigator. I am the oldest of three children and a first generation college student. I love being out in nature, watching movies and hanging out with my family. I am a good candidate for scholarships because with my intended degree, I will be using it to give back to people.

I’ve been in school my whole life, as many of my peers have been. It has been a very long 13 years, but it has shaped me into the young woman I am today. I can’t recall specific experiences that have impacted me, however, I can list many circumstances that have gotten me where I’m at right now. For example, I had the opportunity to attend a career based high school or to attend a public high school here in Las Vegas. I chose the career based high school, and now I am closer than ever to entering my dream career field. Attending this school has changed me in so many ways and has helped me to get hands on experience in the crime scene world.
In the future, I want to be a crime scene investigator. That requires college. I plan to attend a four year Christian university in Glendale, Arizona. While at Arizona Christian University, I will major in biology with a minor in forensic science and/or criminal justice. Majoring in biology will get me further into the field than majoring in forensic science would. Once I graduate college, I will most likely move back home and start doing my training for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD). I plan on holding this job until retirement.
College may be something that people don’t have to worry about, unfortunately, that’s not my case. I would love to go to college, but it doesn’t work in my budget. I am the oldest of three kids and I live in a two income household. However, I don’t want to rely on my parents to pay for college so the only way I can go is through scholarship money. This scholarship would help so much. It would help me have more money towards my tuition. The remainder of my tuition at ACU is $10,000 a semester. I have already established that I would work my way through college to help pay for it, but this scholarship would put me in less debt, and would take some money off of my remainder. Whatever money I can’t pay for in scholarships or out of pocket, I will be taking student loans out for. All scholarship money helps and is so deeply appreciated. The money will not go to waste as it’ll be used to help further my education. Not only that, but once I am in my career field, I will be giving back to my community just as they have given to me.
