Scholarships are critical to my success as a student pursuing higher education in the healthcare field, specifically nursing, and beyond. Receiving this scholarship would allow me to continue prioritizing school and provide me with the financial stability to organize, prepare, and budget to achieve my academic goals. In preparation for my career in this field, I’ve taken various steps to ensure my success. I currently have obtained my certified nursing certificate after completing 100 hours of classroom study and over 50 hours of on-the-job training, as well as shadowing alongside registered nurses and doctors to assist actual patients. I have competed in various nursing professional programs. These include anatomy, first aid, medical terminology, and CPR. I have won various district contests, as well as placed fourth in the Missouri State Skills USA competition. I am very passionate about making a difference in the healthcare field. Growing up in our diverse community, I have witnessed frustration and confusion caused by the lack of effective communication where language barriers are present. To reduce this barrier, I have pursued learning Spanish. I currently have earned 16 college credits as well as a seal of biliteracy showing my fluency in the language. To further my education in this area, I intend to pursue a minor in Spanish language and culture. I plan to bridge the gap between patient and healthcare provider by forming deep interpersonal connections, allowing for close, holistic care. I believe that to develop diverse and inclusive learning environments, equal opportunity and access to academic pursuits are necessary. The many experiences and perspectives of people from various cultural and ethical origins are critical to our advancement as a society. To summarize, I am optimistic in believing that I would be a viable candidate for this scholarship as I have pursued and demonstrated my dedication to higher education and have taken the necessary steps to ensure success. I plan to use my personal experiences, education, and training along with my leadership, language, and communication skills to achieve these goals. Thank you so much for your consideration and time. Collaboration & Diversity in Healthcare Scholarship
Collaboration and diversity are important in advancing the healthcare and medical field because they bring a wide range of perspectives and experiences to the table, which can lead to more innovative and effective solutions. When people from different backgrounds and cultures work together, they can bring unique ideas and approaches to problem-solving, and can challenge traditional ways of thinking. This can lead to a more comprehensive understanding of healthcare issues, and can ultimately result in better patient outcomes. Diversity is also important because it helps to reduce healthcare disparities and ensure that all patients receive the care they need. When healthcare professionals come from diverse backgrounds and understand the unique needs of different communities, they are better able to provide culturally competent care. This can help to improve trust and communication between patients and healthcare providers and can lead to better health outcomes for all. In my future work in the medical field, I plan to apply these values by seeking out opportunities to work with a diverse team of healthcare professionals. I believe that collaboration is key to finding innovative solutions to healthcare challenges, and I am committed to being an active participant in a diverse and inclusive working environment. One experience that I had in working in a collaborative setting that helped me reach a pivotal stage of success was during my Leadership studies. A state wide competition and connection convention that awarded me and my fellow team members the Statesman Award for our perseverance. I was part of a group project in which we had to develop a themed game and market it to a judging team. We were a diverse team, with members from different cultural and educational backgrounds. Working together, we were able to bring a wide range of perspectives and ideas to the table, and we were able to develop a comprehensive and effective marketing plan. This experience taught me the value of collaboration and diversity and showed me the power of working together towards a common goal. In conclusion, collaboration and diversity are important in advancing the healthcare and medical field because they bring a wide range of perspectives and experiences to the table, which can lead to more innovative and effective solutions. By seeking out opportunities to work with diverse teams, I believe that I can make a positive impact in the healthcare field and help to improve patient outcomes for all.

The song "Mean" by Taylor Swift is important to me because it speaks to the struggles that I have faced in my own life. The lyrics talk about the pain of being misunderstood and mistreated, and the importance of standing up for oneself and not letting others define you. As someone who has often felt like an outsider, I can relate to the message of the song. It reminds me that it is okay to be different and not fit in with the crowd. It encourages me to be true to myself and not let others bring me down. The song also speaks to the importance of self-acceptance and self-love. It reminds me that I am enough just the way I am and that I don't need to change myself to be liked or accepted by others. This message is particularly powerful for me, as I have often struggled with self-doubt and low self-esteem. In conclusion, "Mean" by Taylor Swift is an important song to me because it speaks to the struggles that I have faced and encourages me to be true to myself and to love myself for who I am. It serves as a reminder that it is okay to be different and that we all have value and worth.
