WinnerI am passionate about becoming an Occupational Therapy Assistant because I have always wanted a career that allows me to help people regain their independence and improve their quality of life. I am drawn to the way occupational therapy focuses on the whole person, not just their diagnosis, and helps them return to meaningful daily activities. I believe this profession perfectly combines compassion, problem-solving, and creativity, and I am excited to be part of a field that truly makes a difference in people’s lives. I have taken my studies very seriously from the beginning of the program. I created a binder that organizes all my notes, handouts, and study resources, and I review them regularly. My plan is to continue building on those materials, practice NBCOT-style questions consistently, and use structured study sessions to strengthen areas where I need improvement. I want to go into the board exam feeling confident that I have done everything possible to set myself up for success. After I pass my board exam, I plan to begin working as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to gain hands-on experience and to help pay for my bachelor’s degree. I am still open to different settings, but right now I feel most interested in working with adults, possibly in an inpatient rehabilitation or skilled nursing facility. I enjoy seeing how therapy can help people rebuild strength and confidence after illness or injury. In the future, I would also like to explore pediatrics and school-based practice because I have always loved working in a school environment and supporting children as they grow and learn. Becoming a COTA is more than just a career goal for me—it is an opportunity to impact lives and continue learning every day. I am grateful for the education I am receiving and motivated to keep working hard toward becoming a skilled, compassionate practitioner.
