Business is one the most influential and versatile careers in American society, and is a platform I believe will help me gain the type of leverage needed to change the world in creative, innovative, and beneficial ways. This point brings up my growing interest in political science and social justice. I care deeply for those around me and seek to achieve equality for minorities who have been constantly taken advantage of in a society that holds more value in greed, hierarchies, and false superiority, rather than person-hood, empathy, and unity. I suppose this fascination started when the COVID-19 pandemic shined light on a lot of the corruptive systems in America, and I was finally old enough to grasp concepts like racism and sexism, etc. I grew heavily interested in learning exactly how our systems were built, operate, and are affecting the country, both obviously and not-so-obviously, and began considering the possibility of a future role in fields dealing with these matters. While I still haven’t set any sort of specific career goals towards political science, yet, I’ve started researching and staying educated on the current events going on in our lifetime and am learning how to use my voice, especially as Salutatorian, Lieutenant, and peer, to speak out on the topics I feel strongly about. Wherever I end up, I hope to inspire change, prosper fearlessness, and strengthen community through action, perseverance, and my ability to spark the desire for improvement.
