WinnerBio
My name is Reagan Jordan! I’m an African-American female who resides in Arkansas. I was very involved in my high school; I’ve played volleyball for the last 3 years and archery for 1 year, I was in NHS, and I ran for homecoming princess, queen, & NHS secretary. I was a vocal arts magnet at my school, so I was in both advanced choir & piano classes for the last 3 years. I even took AP classes this last year and came out with a cumulative GPA of 3.9! I’m an honor graduate, ending my high school career off with 31 credits. I have an older sister who’s in college right now, and my dream is to attend & finish school at an HBCU outside of Arkansas, so these scholarships will be highly appreciated! Thank you so much!!

Some people express themselves through the clothes they wear. I've always been one of those people. I love putting together outfits and finding the perfect balance of colors, textures, and styles to create something that feels complete. As I grew older, I realized interior design follows that same creative process. Instead of designing an outfit that helps someone feel confident, you're designing a space that helps them feel comfortable, inspired, and at home. That realization sparked a passion that I hope to turn into a lifelong career dedicated to making a positive impact on others.
I plan to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration while continuing to strengthen my knowledge of interior design. My long-term goal is to open my own interior design and decorating business where I can combine creativity with entrepreneurship to improve people's everyday lives. My mom has always encouraged my creativity by asking for my opinion when she's choosing an outfit or decorating our home. Those moments helped me realize that design isn't simply about making something look beautiful, but about creating something meaningful as well. I've also always enjoyed watching home renovation shows and seeing ordinary spaces transformed into places people were excited to reside in. Those transformations inspired me because they showed how intentional design can completely change the way people feel.
As I began thinking about my future, I realized that not everyone has access to those opportunities. Many families cannot afford professional design services, even though the spaces they live in can have a significant impact on their comfort, organization, and overall sense of self. That's why I hope to use my future business to make quality design more accessible by offering affordable services, volunteering my time for community projects, and partnering with local organizations to serve families who need it most. I believe everyone deserves to live in an environment that's secure and supports their well-being, regardless of their financial situation.
My desire to help others extends beyond my future career. Throughout high school, I have actively served my community through National Honors Society (NHS), volunteering with the Arkansas Foodbank, participating in my church's youth ministry, and helping at local schools. These experiences taught me that meaningful change doesn't always come from grand gestures. Sometimes it begins with simply showing up, serving others with compassion, and using your talents to make someone's day a little better.
The discipline I developed through challenging coursework, extracurricular activities, and community involvement has prepared me to turn my goals into reality. More importantly, these experiences have reinforced the values I want to carry into my future: integrity, creativity, leadership, and service.
Ultimately, I hope my success is measured not only by the business I build, but by the lives I touch along the way. Whether I'm helping a family create a home they love or continuing to serve my community, I want to use my education and creativity to make an everlasting difference. If I can make someone's quality of life more enjoyable by creating a place where they feel complacent, valued, and proud to call home, then I'll know I've made the positive impact I set out to achieve.

WinnerGrowing up, I have always believed that success means more than just personal achievement. To me, success is about using your talents, education, and experiences to create opportunities for others and make a lasting impact in your community. Throughout high school, I have worked hard to become someone who leads with integrity, creativity, service, and consistency, and those values continue to shape both my future goals and the way I interact with others every day.
One of my biggest passions is creativity and design. I plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business administration while continuing to strengthen my knowledge on interior design. My long-term goal is to eventually open my own interior design and decorating business. I enjoy the idea of transforming spaces into environments that make people feel comfortable, confident, and inspired. I believe creativity has the power to improve people’s lives in ways that people usually ignore. A well-designed space can positively affect someone’s mood, productivity, and self-esteem, and I want my future career to combine both business and creativity in a meaningful way like that.
At the same time, I also want my future career to address an important social issue: the lack of accessible and affordable resources for underserved communities. Many families are unable to afford services or environments that support comfort, organization, and positive living conditions. As I continue my education and eventually grow my business, I hope to provide affordable services to families and individuals who may not normally have access to professional design assistance. I want to create spaces that are not only beautiful but also functional and welcoming for people from all backgrounds. I believe everyone deserves to feel proud of the environment they live in, regardless of their financial situation.
Another passion of mine is helping others, and I’ve continuously shown that passion through school and community activities I participated in. Through National Honor Society, volunteering with the Arkansas Foodbank, participating in my church’s youth ministry, and helping at different schools, I have learned how important service and compassion truly are. These experiences taught me that positive change begins when people are willing to consistently show up for others and contribute their time and effort. They have also strengthened my leadership, teamwork, and communication skills, which I know will help me succeed in both college and my future career.
In addition to community involvement, I have challenged myself academically by taking advanced and AP courses throughout high school and graduating with honors. I also used to be a part of the archery and volleyball team, and I continued my choir endeavors until I graduated. These experiences have taught me discipline, responsibility, ambition, and perseverance, because it was not easy pursuing further education while participating in things that are more than just an “elective” or “class.”
Overall, I want my future career to be about more than financial success. I want it to reflect the values that matter most to me: integrity, service, creativity, and leadership. By pursuing higher education, building a successful business, and continuing to give back to my community, I hope to inspire others while creating opportunities that positively impact the lives of those around me.
