    Women in Healthcare Scholarship
I have chosen a career in healthcare because it is my dream and my passion to help people feel more comfortable in their own skin. The skin is what interests me the most, but helping people feel more confident is what I am really passionate about. Using this scholarship money to pay for my college education would help empower people all over to love what they see in the mirror. The education I get from college would then help me get into a good medical school to become a dermatologist. I personally know what it is like to wake up everyday and not want to look in the mirror. And I know millions of people have felt that exact same way. As a dermatologist I would educate people about their skin, teach them the proper ways to take care of their skin, and overall improve their quality of life starting with taking care of the biggest organ in the body. Nobody deserves to feel uncomfortable in their own skin and I intend to make sure everyone I help in the future feels confident about themselves. Being a women in the healthcare field means pushing boundaries and furthering equality. As a women in healthcare I would continue to advocate for equal pay, equal opportunities, and female rights. For countless decades women have had to work 2x as hard as men for the same opportunities, and I hope to be apart of change and the future of women in the workplace. As a future women in the healthcare field I plan on exercising my skills and my voice to provide perspective through leadership and mentorship. I plan on uplifting and supporting other women in the healthcare field, but also other women that want to pursue the healthcare field. All In hopes of inspiring and sparking equality among the workplace. Building a supportive network of female healthcare workers would also be one of my future goals. Collaborating with other women in my future place of work to celebrate achievements, overcome adversity together, and sharing resources. A supportive network would help create a positive female workspace. Engaging in a professional organization or board is also a future goal of mine. Utilizing my voice to advocate for female healthcare workers that may lead to new policies that better support women in the healthcare field. Being a women in healthcare means being an innovative force, and bringing diverse perspectives, collaborative skills, and empathy. It means navigating gender inequality, pay gap, and gender bias. I hope to in the near future create a more inclusive and equitable healthcare field for women.
    Stacey Vore Wrestling Scholarship
The sport of wrestling means following the plan, not the mood. Wrestling means showing up for yourself and your team no matter the circumstances you’re facing. I have participated in wrestling for 3 long years, and am currently in the middle of a season. I have qualified for state once, and am a 3x national qualifier. I do not plan on continuing my wrestling journey, but I do plan on putting the lessons and skills this sport has taught me to use in my future. This season is my final season as a senior in high school. At the beginning of the season I faced some adversity, I would not be on the varsity team due to a teammate, specifically a 3x state champion, taking the spot from me. At the beginning of the season my mind was set on quitting, in my mind I was useless if I wasn’t going to contribute to another state title by earning points at the state tournament. And I most certainly was not going to be wasting my time with junior varsity tournaments. I was being extremely selfish cause I was hurt, but then I realized I still had teammates who needed me to prepare them for competitions. I had teammates who enjoyed my company, and I realized I was so much more than just points on a bracket. I was hard-working, dedicated, a leader, and a great teammate. So on days I wish I was anywhere else than on a sweaty mat, I continue to show up and work hard not just for myself, but my teammates. Women’s wrestling is the fastest growing high school sport, and it makes me proud that I could pave the way for girls to come. I continue to inspire younger girls, by practicing with them and setting an example. I believe any girl who competes in wresting will ultimately be immensely benefited, even if they don’t stick with it in the long run. The skills wrestling have taught me will go on to help me in college and in medical schools. Hard work, dedication, and discipline are the skills wrestling is built on, and it is now what I am built on. Ultimately the day I decided to join the sport of wrestling was one of the most important days in my high school career. Wrestling has made me a better person, athlete, friend, leader, and teammate. I would not trade or change my experience for anything. I hope I continue to inspire younger girls to join women’s wrestling.
