Bio

Hello Reader! I am a current civil engineering undergrad student emphasizing in construction management at Missouri University of Science and Technology (MST), or previously known as University Missouri-Rolla (UMR). Outside of the class room, I am actively involved in my Fraternity, Beta Sigma Psi Eta-Chapter, and Engineers Without Borders (EWB-MST). My previous leadership roles with EWB have been Fundraising chair and our chapter's 1st Historian. My active leadership roles in EWB are New Member chair and Bolivia team's social chair. I'm also heavily involved in EWB's new Gala program in which we will be hosting a large gala fundraiser with industry leaders and alumni. When I'm not participating in my student organizations, I am studying, hanging out with friends, family, or brothers, playing pickleball, volleyball, other intramural sports, or occasional video games and TV shows!

Our Destiny Our Future Scholarship
I have always believed the work I do should mean something beyond a paycheck or a title. From the moment I got involved with Engineers Without Borders, I knew engineering was a vehicle for change and a platform to build something meaningful in the world. Every role I have taken on has reinforced that belief in me. Through my roles with Engineers Without Borders, I have approached service from multiple angles. As Fundraising Chair, I secured the resources our chapter needed to pursue projects which directly impact underserved communities. This role taught me making a difference is not always glamorous work, but knowing the money I helped raise was going toward real engineering solutions made every effort worth it. As Historian, I made it my mission to document and preserve our chapter's story, so future members could look back and see the foundation laid before them. Serving on the Gala Committee allowed me to help bring people together around a shared purpose, raising both awareness and funding for humanitarian engineering efforts from industry leaders and alumni. As New Member Chair, one of the most rewarding roles I've held, I had the opportunity to welcome incoming students into a culture of service and purpose. I genuinely care about making new members feel like they belong, because I remember what it felt like to first discover how engineering could be used as a tool for good. As Social Chair, I worked to build a community where people actually want to show up, knowing that a connected team is ultimately a more effective one. Beyond Engineers Without Borders, my involvement with Beta Sigma Psi has given me additional opportunities to serve. One of the most personally fulfilling experiences has been contributing to Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a non-profit dedicated to building beds for children who would otherwise sleep on the floor. There is something profoundly moving about showing up, picking up a tool, and building something a child will sleep in that very night. That kind of tangible, immediate impact is something I carry with me every day. As I move into the construction industry, I bring all of these experiences with me. I plan to enter this field not just to build structures, but to build a better world. I intend to make my mark in a way which reflects everything I have learned through my years of service, and I am confident the legacy I leave behind will be one worth being proud of.

As a future Civil Engineer, my goal is to contribute to the design, construction, and successful completion of a wide variety of infrastructure and building projects. I have always been fascinated by construction, and it has been a career interest of mine since childhood. That passion continues to motivate me today and drives my desire to pursue a career where I can see projects develop from an initial concept into a completed structure that positively impacts communities. After graduating and passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam, I plan to begin my professional career in the construction and project management side of civil engineering. I am particularly interested in being involved in the design and construction of specialized buildings and complex projects that require innovative solutions and collaboration among multiple engineering disciplines. I enjoy the challenge of solving problems and finding practical ways to turn engineering concepts into reality. In the future, I hope to develop into a well-rounded engineer and project leader by gaining experience both in the office and on the jobsite. I believe that some of the most valuable lessons in engineering come from observing how designs perform during construction. By working directly with contractors, engineers, and project teams in the field, I will be able to identify issues that may have been overlooked during the design process and collaborate with others to develop effective solutions. This hands-on experience will help me become a better engineer and improve the quality and efficiency of future projects. Additionally, I want to continue expanding my professional network by connecting with experienced engineers, industry leaders, and mentors. Learning from those who have successfully navigated the industry will allow me to grow both technically and professionally. Through continuous learning, collaboration, and practical experience, I hope to build a successful career that allows me to contribute to meaningful projects, lead teams, and make a lasting impact on the civil engineering profession.
