As an aviator who is following a path to become a professional pilot, I've always been fascinated with the Wright brothers. I know it's basic that a pilot likes the wright brothers but making such a contraption as they did and taking it into the air is awe-inspiring to me. Throughout my college career, the number of times the Wright brothers are brought up and related to in my classes is more times than I can count. In the center of our campus at Embry-Riddle Prescott, we even have a scaled model hanging from one of our buildings that I stare at often wondering how their minds decided to make such a thing. That the Wright Flyer taking off out of Kittyhawk that day has led to everything that aviation is today. That's inspiring and exciting in my opinion and that is why the Wright brothers are my favorite scientists.

Thank you for taking the time to review my submission. I am currently a senior at Embry-Riddle Prescott working on my Commercial single-engine. I have already completed my Private certificate and Instrument Rating. I currently have around 240 flight hours. Before I leave Riddle my plan is to finish my Commercial Multi in the DA-42. Aviation has been around me my entire life despite being a first-generation pilot in my family. My grandfather had always been fascinated with planes due to his time in the Air Force. My parents worked two jobs each to help keep our family afloat; so while they were busy my grandfather would babysit me and take me on adventures to the airport. It was all of those visits to various airports with my grandfather that gave me my love for aviation. When it came time to pick a career I knew what I wanted to do. Since then I have spent a lot of time studying and doing everything I can at Embry-Riddle. I've made Dean's list a couple of times, 3.7 GPA, working on graduating with 2 minors, and working hard on getting all of my certificates. My main goal in aviation is to find myself in the left seat of a C-130 working for firefighting operations. I currently work at an FBO that partners with the tanker base at KPRC. Occasionally, I will get lucky enough to help take care of the C-130 tankers while they are fighting a fire in the area. However, before I fully chase after the C-130, I want to be able to explore what aviation has to offer with the many different jobs that are available. Aviation is important to me because I believe it is something really special, the ability to see a new vantage point of the world. To be up at 5, 10, 15 thousand feet and see how the landscape can change. It is a lot of hard work to get to sit in the cockpit and see the world from that point of view. I also believe that aviation has a special power to reunite families. For instance, I traveled to Arizona from Pennsylvania for school. I don't get to see my family very much anymore but without aviation it would be even less. Aviation has also had an impact on my life for being able to become friends with other pilots and talk about information that not every person knows. I met my partner through working in the aviation field as a flight dispatcher at Embry-Riddle. All of those reasons together are why aviation is important to me. Generosity is something that I personally believe this world has a lot of but it isn't the main focus of the news anymore. Generosity is going out of your way to help someone in some way. It doesn't have to be financial or even giving of something physical. Today for instance I ran into a really confused and frustrated freshman and we swapped numbers. I told her to text me whatever questions she has and I'm giving her a full tour of campus to help her figure out where her classes are. I believe that is an example of basic human kindness. The desire to help one another and the want for others to succeed. Another example I have is I used to be a member of the Civil Air Patrol. Their goal was always to do everything they could to benefit the community. We've done church cleanups, directing traffic at major events, volunteering at local events for veterans, packaging food for countries going through natural disasters, etc. A lot of my time was spent volunteering and doing extra community service work, it made me happy to think I was having an impact on someone's life. Civil Air Patrol taught me a lot about generosity. It's not just about giving it's about caring.
