My name is Petra Nye, and I have been dedicated to healthcare since becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant in 2006 at the age of 16. This early experience sparked a deep commitment to patient care, which led me to pursue paramedicine, earning my Paramedic Associates degree in 2016. Over the years, I’ve served my community in high-stakes emergency settings and later expanded my impact by becoming a health science teacher-sharing my knowledge and inspiration with the next generation of healthcare professionals. Now, I am pursuing my nursing degree at Umpqua Community College, with a clear path toward becoming an eventual Nurse Practitioner. My ultimate goal is to provide holistic, high-quality care with a focus on patient education and advocacy-especially for underserved populations. My journey through healthcare has been driven by resilience, compassion, and a desire to elevate the standard of care. A scholarship will help me continue this journey without interruption and bring me closer to making a long-lasting impact in my community.
