My name is Peightyn Myers, and I am a rising junior at San Diego State University majoring in Kinesiology with a focus on Pre-Physical Therapy. My goal is to become a Doctor of Physical Therapy and establish a clinic that provides culturally responsive rehabilitation and wellness education for historically underserved communities. I am passionate about service, leadership, and health equity. From my years in Girl Scouts, where I dedicated over a decade to community service, to my current campus involvement, I have learned the value of resilience, teamwork, and advocacy. At SDSU, I serve as a Peer Mentor at the Black Resource Center, supporting students academically and personally. As a founding member and treasurer of the Black Kinesiology Organization, I help create opportunities for students pursuing health careers. Additionally, through my membership in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, I engage in programs that uplift communities and promote educational and social change. Looking ahead, I am preparing for graduate studies in physical therapy with the long-term goal of creating a clinic that centers equity, inclusion, and community wellness. I see education and healthcare as interconnected tools for empowerment, and I strive to use both to open doors for others. Grounded in service and leadership, I am eager to continue building a career that makes a meaningful and lasting impact.
