Ever since my brother joined the marines at 17 I knew spending time with him was precious and that I needed to every time he came home. Every time we would go either fishing or shooting with our family this was always fun as he shot the best out of all of us, of course. But once he finnaly got out of the military this year he decided that me and him were going to go geese hunting at my uncles. I’ve always loved outdoors but have never hunted as I didn’t have my hunting license. My brother earlier in the year made me go with him to get a waterfowl license which took over 5 hours but was worth it. I decided to take the online course for my hunting license which kid you not took me over 8 hours to complete. It was the most dreadful thing I have ever done. When we got to my uncles at roughly 8 in the morning I was so excited to try and get my first goose. But we didn’t see anything for around 2 hours at my uncles pond so we decided to walk his land. We found an open field and saw geese flying around so we ran to the area they flew too. When we ran my brother decided to drop the bag with all of our ammo and important things. So of course my brother made me go and get it and we are separated by a tree line where I can’t see him. When I go to pick it up all I hear is “bang, bang, bang ”. As I look up all I see is a flock of geese flying over my head. My adrenaline hit and I take the safety off, without aiming trying shooting the geese. Of course I didn’t hit any but I thought that this was so much fun. My brother got 2 and we waited in that area for the next couple hours. We ended up getting around 10 in total, I only got 3, and I have been addicted ever since. But now since my brother works for the government we haven’t been able to go hunting at all since he was only home for about 3 months before leaving again. But when we went hunting that was the most fun I’ve had since it was just me and him in nature bonding over somthing we love.
