Nonprofits in Nigeria compliment the government in providing human services to its residents . That is why I choose to study Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership at Grand Valley State University. My career goals is as follows: To be a nonprofit and a fundraiser development manager in the next two years : I am the co-founder in Green future builder initiative, a nonprofit aimed at building communities through youths and women empowerment, health, governance, education and peace building activities. The government of Nigeria is not doing enough to provide human services to its citizens , most of the local communities in Nigeria are neglected and are faced with poverty. Update the partners training program curriculum: I managed the SI4DEV Partners training program, the training program is for community volunteers to become change makers and own their own social enterprise or nonprofits in rural communities in Nigeria. I am currently working Part-time with the GVSU K-12 connect tutoring program. I teach kids Maths virtually, which is giving an opportunity to make a direct impact in the lives of children. I previously worked with Strategy and Innovation for Development Initiative as an Operations manager, and managed the Street business school(SBS) program, the SBS program is a mobile school training for low-income youths and women living in poor communities, the project is aimed to bring them out of poverty, 90 women from 6 communities have been trained and already running their small business ventures. As part of giving back to my society, I co-founded the Green future builder initiative, an NGO dedicated to building communities and improving the lives of young people, who are innovative, productive, and solvers of the world’s toughest problems. After my studies, My plan after study is to be fully involved in managing the Green future builder initiative and launch the Global Career project in Nigeria. This project aims to build the capacity of High School students towards starting a digital-entrepreneur venture using project management processes. Teaching skills to students is seen as a long-term solution to the "skills gap" between the number of technology jobs and the people qualified. I need the scholarship because I cannot afford to pay for my next tuition, as my aunty who is supposed to be my sponsor is having financial challenges due to her health.
