Hey, I'm Paige! I am an Honors College sohpomore at Appalachian State University studying Political Science with a concentration in Legal Studies and a minor in English. I am from Newton, North Carolina, and I graduated from Maiden High School and the Lenoir-Rhyne University High School Scholars Program. After graduating from AppState, my goal is to attend law school within North Carolina and study estate and probate law. I also hope to continue my interest in voter advocacy and voter representation within my home state!
I have a substantial interest in advocacy stemming from my life as a chronically ill individual, and am interested in the relationship between legislation and the acceptance of people with disabilities in society. Growing up in the South, I also have a strong leniency towards American southern politics and the voter psychology of the South, both of which I plan to indulge further in the future as I begin planning senior projects and honors theses.
Outside of school, I enjoy volunteering within the my community. I volunteer with an equine therapy program for children in Boone, and this summer I volunteered at a camp for children with gluten intolerances as a counselor. During the late spring and summer, I work at a local baseball stadium in my hometown and occasionally dogsit for friends and family.
In my spare time, I read and create regularly, and I can often be found at my desk with art supplies nearby. I have a bit of a LEGO obsession, and am always on the lookout for my next build!
