I am an Honors College freshman at Appalachian State University studying Political Science with a concentration in Legal Studies and a minor in English. I am from Newton, North Carolina, and I graduated from Maiden High School and the Lenoir-Rhyne University High School Scholars Program. I particularly enjoy playing French Horn in the Appalachian Concert Band and working within the Boone community. I volunteered last fall with a locally owned Equine Therapy program. I worked at the Board of Elections for the 2026 primary season, and I plan to continue with this job as the midterm elections approach in the fall. During the late spring and summer, I work at a local baseball stadium serving guests in the suites, and my goals after graduating Appalachian State are to attend law school and eventually become a lawyer in North Carolina.
I have a substantial interest in advocacy stemming from my life as a chronically ill individual, and I am looking for opportunities to further my knowledge in the relationship between legislation and the acceptance of disabled peoples in society. Growing up in the South, I also have a strong leniency towards American southern politics and the political psychology of the South, both of which I plan to indulge further in the future as I begin planning senior project and honors theses.
In my spare time, I read and write regularly, and I have aspirations to one day publish a book of my own. I enjoy the Boone weather and spending time in the Blue Ridge Mountains with my partner and friends.
