Aircraft Mechanics for Aircraft Mechanics Scholarship
I'm interested in pursuing an education in aircraft maintenance because it has impacted my life, and I want to help people get to their destinations safely from anywhere around the world. My interest in this industry sparked as an upcoming junior in high school and came about as I was looking for an elective to type into my course card online. I had a choice to either continue the diesel program I was doing well in or join the new aircraft maintenance program available. I thought about it for a long time and decided I wanted to challenge myself to something mechanically harder. Then before I knew It, I enjoyed learning about airplanes and how they functioned. I was so pleased with the program that I joined it again for my senior year. Then after graduating high school continued with the University running it. During those two years of being in the program in high school, I learned basic electricity, physics, ground operations and servicing, weight and balance, and later on, much more. I noticed during those two years that I was becoming passionate about aviation. If anything, my passion grew even more as I joined the University. It opened up new doors for me to dig into the books the school provided and further investigate how aircraft systems operated. The school's environment also played a big part in why I chose to pursue this kind of career since the school was located at my city's airport. I loved the idea of being able to pull up to the school every morning with aircraft to see. It motivated me to keep going and to continue studying whether I hated doing so. In the end, I felt like I was doing something proactive for myself, and it helped stabilize me mentally as I knew I had made a good choice in switching my career. Besides school, I also noticed how this industry is full of great people, and I have experienced this through my education from teachers and my personal life. I remember, as a little kid getting ready to board an airplane and the flight attendants would greet me so kindly, and even at times, pilots would do the same. Then as soon as I got my seat, I would look out the window to see other airplanes parked or taxing by. Though at the time, I didn't truly realize how important the maintenance personnel outside the aircraft were. If it weren't for them, airplanes wouldn't be operated safely and getting to their destinations. I see this as a problem, and it is why I have decided to stick with this career and learn, as I know as soon as I get an A&P license, I can do the same.
      Bold Giving Scholarship
Giving is important to me because when I receive anything from someone that I love or wants to show their respect to me. I feel very blessed and lucky as I know someone is thinking highly of me because of my ethics and kindness that I have shown to them and others. Right now I give back to my family by helping them when they need help or when I see they need my help. Other than giving back to my family I like to help others that are struggling as well. For Instance, when ever I see someone elderly drop something I help them pick it up or when ever I see someone in need of food, water, or a necessity I give it to them whenever I have it. These simple tasks may seem more like acts of kindness but giving back to others does not involve giving back with something with value. It involves giving back with your heart and consideration.
      Bold Future of Education Scholarship
One change that I believe that would make education positively better for future generations is cost. Anyone who is trying to pay for college or any education knows that cost is the number one leading factor that overwhelms every student and even parents. Imagine if education were just free, every student would excel and want to go to college. The reason being because there is no strings attached on costs of books, dorms, tuition, and any other headache giving college expenses. In my opinion university or college should be more like a high school or middle school education where everything is already provided for you. The only difference would just be class sizes and class structure. Though this idea is not likely what we can do is make it more affordable to every student. Instead of making colleges or universities cost $30,000 to $50,000 or more we can make it cost half of that. I'm not sure on how but if we all stood up to make this happen I'm sure our government would agree on our terms to make the greatest possible impact to change the future for our next generation. If this concept were to come true now our future generations would be more relieved of stress and have more time to focus on themselves and their studies. They would actually have time to enjoy themselves and study instead of working and then studying all exhausted. Money would be spent more economically Instead of wasted to pay a semester or saved drastically to pay tuition which leads to a student living basically a dollar to dollar life to pay for a education they want. Education costs now should not be controlling students financial life. They should instead be building and improving their life which our future generation needs 10 to 20 years from now.
      Bold Study Strategies Scholarship
The study strategies that I use to achieve academic success are listening, note taking, and prepping. Listening in my opinion is one of the best studying strategies you can use because if you listen and not take notes for just a minute or two. The information your teacher is giving to you seems to be more understandable than if you were to write it down and understand it later. The next strategy is note taking which is most commonly used by every student. One piece of advice while taking notes I would give is not writing a whole paragraph. I suggest writing down only the important notes in your own words and phrases your teacher seems to bring up again and again. Lastly we have prepping which may seem odd at first because how can preparing for something help you. Well believe it or not if you are not prepared ahead of time to study material then you will most likely not know the material that will be on your test. Prepping also involves having enough notes, sleep, and eating a good breakfast or lunch because in the end it is you who will determine your academic success.
