Bio

Born about 19 miles from the Chinese-Russian border, a city known in Russia for having a large Korean population called Khabarovsk. Adopted at the age of 3 I haven't found anything about my past and don't have a huge urge to go find my family. I find it hard to want to go back to a place I've idolized the place in my heart. I came to the States when I was 3 after a quick stop in South Korea for the New Year, and gained my citizenship as soon as I arrived in the States. So the first 2 years of high school I made it my purpose to find out what I enjoyed doing most and plan out my future. It would be a lie if I could say that I'm proud of myself looking back on the last few years, but it would also be a lie if I said that I had the worst year of my life. I had found a purpose in my future and honestly for the first time found myself truly happy.

    Learner Math Lover Scholarship
As a child, I struggled with math and often felt defeated by the subject. It wasn't until a teacher in high school took the time to work with me one-on-one that I began to see the beauty in math. She patiently walked me through each problem, showing me the logic behind each step, and encouraging me to think outside the box. It was then that I realized that math was not just about memorizing formulas and solving equations, but about problem-solving and critical thinking. From that day forward, I threw myself into math with a newfound passion. I spent countless hours studying and practicing, and it all paid off. I started to excel in math and even began to enjoy it. But it wasn't just about the grades. Math taught me so much about myself. It taught me that with hard work and dedication, I can achieve anything I set my mind to. It taught me to persevere even when things get tough. And it taught me that having a supportive mentor or teacher can make all the difference in the world. This newfound love for math not only helped me excel academically but also gave me the confidence to tackle challenges in other areas of my life. I began to see that every problem could be broken down into manageable steps and that with hard work and perseverance, I could overcome any obstacle. Math has taught me that with the right mindset and approach, even the most daunting challenges can be conquered. I am grateful for the teacher who took the time to help me see math in a new light, and I hope to inspire others to love math as much as I do.

Golf has been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember. The sport has become more than just a game for me, it is a passion that has taught me invaluable lessons about life and myself. As a Division 1 women's golf athlete, I have been given the opportunity to further pursue this passion and to develop my skills both on and off the course. My love for golf started at a young age when my father would take me to the local driving range. It was a way for us to bond and spend quality time together. As I grew older, my love for the sport only intensified, and I began to realize just how much it had become a part of my identity. Golf has taught me the importance of hard work, discipline, and perseverance. It has taught me that success is not achieved overnight but through consistent effort and a willingness to learn from mistakes. Being a Division 1 women's golf athlete has allowed me to take my passion for golf to the next level. It has provided me with the resources and support I need to continue improving my game while also pursuing my academic goals. Through countless early morning practices, grueling workouts, and intense competition, I have learned the importance of dedication and sacrifice. I have learned to push myself to my limits and never give up on my dreams. Additionally, golf has taught me important life skills such as perseverance, dedication, and time management. As a student-athlete, I have learned to balance my academic and athletic responsibilities, while also maintaining a social life. Golf has taught me to stay focused and never give up, even when faced with obstacles. It has also taught me the importance of setting goals and working hard to achieve them. Overall, golf has played a significant role in shaping me into the person I am today, and I am excited to continue my journey as a Division 1 women's golfer. But golf has also taught me the importance of balance. As a student-athlete, I have learned to manage my time effectively, prioritize my responsibilities, and maintain a healthy work-life balance. I have learned that success on the course is only one aspect of a fulfilling life and that my education and personal relationships are just as important. In conclusion, my passion for golf runs deep, and it has played an important part in shaping who I am today. Being a Division 1 women's golf athlete has allowed me to pursue this passion to the fullest, while also teaching me invaluable lessons about life and myself. I am grateful for the opportunity to compete at the highest level and to represent my university, and I am committed to using these experiences to continue growing as both an athlete and a person.

    1. When I'm not on the golf course or attending school, you can often find me at my local church, where I enjoy volunteering my time to help others. One of my favorite activities is teaching young students about the Catholic faith and the meaning behind it. It's incredibly rewarding to see their eyes light up as they gain a deeper understanding and connection to God. In addition, I also enjoy assisting the elderly by making phone calls on their behalf and helping them to read and understand important mail. This volunteer work allows me to make a positive impact in my community and provides a much-needed break from the demands of my golf career. 2. After completing my college education, I aspire to pursue a professional golfing career. While I am passionate about the sport, I am equally committed to raising awareness for adoptees who do not have access to sports due to their living conditions. While the general issue of adoptee rights has gained some recognition, I believe that more attention should be given to the specific challenges faced by these individuals. By using my platform as a professional athlete, I hope to bring more attention to the importance of sports in the lives of adoptees and inspire change in the community. 3. During my time in college, I plan to take full advantage of the opportunities to further my education and develop my golf skills. While my family has faced financial challenges in the past, I am grateful for the opportunity that college provides to focus on my passions without worrying about financial barriers. My time in college will be dedicated to personal and professional growth, both on and off the golf course. I hope to use this time to not only improve my game but also to develop my character and become a well-rounded individual. Ultimately, my goal is to pursue a career in professional golf, and I am committed to working hard and striving toward this dream. 4. This scholarship will allow me to pursue my passion for golf without any financial burden. As a student-athlete, I have to balance my academics with my athletic commitments, which can be challenging at times. This scholarship will help me focus on my game and give me the opportunity to improve my skills without worrying about the financial aspect. It will allow me to purchase the necessary equipment, travel to tournaments, and receive professional coaching, which would not have been possible without this support. With this scholarship, I am confident that I can achieve my goals and represent my school and community with pride.
