Bio

My name is Olivia Hardman, a rising Freshman at Spelman College, majoring in Biochemistry for a career as a physician. I believe my passion for wanting to help my community started when I interned from 2019 to 2022 as an assistant third grade teacher at Horizon's Atlanta for Purposed Built Schools. My assignment was to teach urban/low income students to help increase their reading and math proficiency and at times, students were two years behind in those skills. I ended up also teaching life skills to students and started to see a gap in not only basic needs, but the lack of healthcare in households in the surrounding community. As an African-American female, my community would benefit from more physicians that look like me. Not only will it inspire the next generation, but it would also keep the lines of communication open for bringing awareness to diseases that especially impact our community.
