Bio

I am a creative, Jesus-loving, China-born girl with special bones and a special heart. My Mom met me when on a trip serving in China and felt a tap on her heart that we were meant to be family. My osteogenesis imperfecta (brittle bones) may impact some of what I am able to do (no contact sports for me!), but it does not define me. To the contrary, it has opened doors and allowed me the opportunity to serve as a Patient Champion (Ambassador) for Nationwide Children's Hospital. I have spent a lot of time there as we sought healing for broken bones and a surprise heart condition. Ever since I was little, I have wanted to return to the hospital - not as a patient, but as a team member to give back to a place that has played such a big role in my life. I love kids. I use my creativity, compassion, and empathy to help them to know that they are loved, special, can do anything, and not to let their circumstances define them. Selected for and member of National Honors Society and National Spanish Honors Society. Taking dual enrollment classes at Cedarville University.

No matter the career I build, I know the LORD will be with me by my side.He gives me patience and guidance; He gives me a heart to see people as His children and to know that we all make mistakes. Matthew 20:16 tells us that the first will be last and the last will be first. It is not about how high you climb in social status or what job you have as long as you put God and others first. I believe that when working in a job, you are there to help others, be it your coworkers or customers. I have learned some of these aspects while working at Chick-fil-A. While asking the LORD for patience, He has given me the experiences and opportunities where I need it. Sometimes I think that work is such a hassle, but then I realize that I am so blessed and privileged to have had a job at my age and to be working in a great environment; that I have a source of income. I will never take my job lightly because I know that some people are searching for jobs and can’t get one. I have also been blessed by many doctors and nurses that have helped me in my life. I have two congenital diseases - Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI - my bones break easily) and Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome (impacts my heart). Growing up, I was in and out of the hospital many times. While being a Patient Champion (Child Ambassador) for Nationwide Children’s Hospital was never on my BINGO card or list of goals for my life, I was nominated and chosen. This opportunity brought many incredible adventures while also representing Children’s Hospital and bringing awareness to my rare and often unknown conditions. One of my doctors, Dr Dan, was the absolute best. He would pray with me before surgeries. He would hang out with me in the hospital and we would just laugh. He made my bad situations more enjoyable. His biggest attribute was his faith. You could just see the glow that he has for the LORD. I want to be that kind of person for someone else, so I try my best with the LORD by my side. You truly don’t know the impact you have on someone so give your best effort and be a light. My faith has helped me so much in my life. It brought me comfort when I had surgeries; gave me someone to look to when I have fears or joys in my heart. It gave me the courage to go on different mission trips and has brought me many new opportunities to get to know people. I have been told how my life looked before Christ and now I know that I would be - and go - nowhere without the LORD with me.
