My name is Oksana Marie Lerma. I am an out of state student attending University of Colorado Boulder. I am nineteen years old and a freshman undergraduate. All my life I have been passionate about helping others in anyway possible. Growing up, my dad was diagnosed with a brain tumor and my sister had consist seizures. From then on I knew I wanted to help and I wanted to make a difference for others. I chose neuroscience and neurobiology as my area of study. The brain is a fascinating organ and most of its abilities are a mystery. I plan to go into the medical field and one day become a neurosurgeon. I plan to use my education for the better and change the lives of individuals who need help. I can not make a change in the world in its entirety but I can make changes in the world around me.
