My top 3 Billie Eilish songs are Birds of A Feather, Halley's Comet, and listen before i go. Let me start with Birds of a Feather, so I was introduced to Birds of A Feather when it was first released through my best friend Alfie. Alfie is someone who has been with me through thick and thin, when he introduced to me to this song, I immediately thought of him and how he has always been there for me. Every lyric within Birds of A Feather resonates with mine and Alfie's friendship and every moment we shared together. The line "I knew you in another life, You had that same look in your eyes, I love you don't act so surprised" at the end of the song immediately had me crying because me and Alfie always joked that we would become best friends in every universe. Overall this song means so much to me because it will and always reminds me of my best friend Alfie and all he has done for me in this lifetime. He also even joked himself that this song would be another thing I would know and remember him by. Moving along to Halley's Comet, Halley's Comet is more of a personal song for me and is my favorite Billie song of all time. Halley's Comet is essentially about the euphoric feeling of falling in love even when unexpected or unwanted. I resonate with this song a lot because the different lines that Billie sings I have personally experienced at least one point in my life or is my life. The analogy that Billie makes within the chorus of the song saying how Halley's Comet, a famous periodic comet that comes every 75 - 76 years, comes around more than her wanting/ability to fall in love with others is extremely powerful and sentimental. I have never easily fallen in love with anyone and whenever I do I feel extremely nervous, scared and don't want the feeling, but at the same time it also feels as if I'm floating and I feel euphoric in a way. A euphoric feeling that I didn't want but now have and wondering what I do with it, hence Billie's lyrics near the end of the song, "I think I might have fallen in love, What am I to do?" It's both a blessing and a curse to fall in love when you actually do and this song I think perfectly describes my love life of my love never being fully present and yet when it is I feel euphoric and weighed down by it at the same time. Lastly let me talk about listen by i go from Billie Eilish's first album when we all fall asleep where do we go. This song means a lot to so many people because many people resonate with what Billie is talking about in this song, suicide and depression. Unfortunately, I resonate with this song too. The entire song is about Billie explaining how she wants to die and wants to finally be free of her pain. In the song she says "Call my friends and tell them that I love them", I remember one night when I attempted I was listening to this song and when this part came on I cried non stop because I thought my friends wouldn't care if I died. I wanted to text them that I'll love them forever and ever but couldn't bring myself to do it. This whole song I personally resonate with and every lyric is both understandable and sadly relatable.
