Bio

Living and experiencing this planet has made me someone dedicated to knowing the ins and outs of what makes it tick. I strive to be knowledgeable of everything, from the currents of the wind, to the micro-organisms building our ecosystems. Since childhood I’ve had a deep respect for nature, saving worms from school peers who stepped on them for fun, and stumbling around plants in the cracks of sidewalks. I want a collegiate education to put my love of our planet to use, and aid in fighting the climate and environmental emergencies we face today.

    Your Dream Music Scholarship
Throughout my multitude of online playlists, my large array of records, and the extensive list of pieces I have played, there is one song that carries a monumental message to me personally. Carry You by Novo Amor is a beautifully composed song that features many repeating motifs and effects. The vocals of Novo Amor float above the pacing music in the background, and it becomes easy to lose yourself in the song's melody. While Carry You may not have the most explicit message to the listener, it definitely has the most meaningful one to me. The lyrics throughout the song are reminiscent and intimate of experiences that are vague, yet familiar in feeling. Novo Amor describes instances of isolation, and also hesitant hope. As a listener, I can feel the slow healing that Carry You describes in each swell of a note, and the loneliness in every word that drifts into silence. Carry You by Novo Amor does not leave me fulfilled, and yet I think that is what is most important about it. When I listen to it, I feel everything that has been plaguing me inside come forward, and I'm able to acknowledge it in a peaceful way instead of ignoring what I don't want to confront. This is why Carry You, despite not having a specifically described meaning, has the strongest message of any song I have listened to.
    Terry Masters Memorial Scholarship
When I look around- at people, places, nature, cities- I see shapes and colors, rather than strictly objects or things. Each curve of a leaf or form of a person gives me new incentive to make something new, or incorporate something new into an art piece. Transposing what I see from outside and using natural motifs in my art helps me communicate what my thoughts and views are on what I’m viewing. Placing myself into nature becomes easier when I can make it into something of my own. This means my art is built up by the need and enjoyment of appreciating life outside of my own head.
