Bio

I am Nyela Jackson Davis, a rising sophomore at Spelman College, majoring in Sociology with a minor in Public Health. Pursuing higher education has allowed me to position myself better to grow and fulfill my passions, which include advocating for marginalized communities, appreciating different cultures through travel, and experimenting with various art forms. My past and current community service experiences have shown me that small, genuine efforts can create significant impacts. This realization encouraged me to pursue my undergraduate degree in Sociology and Public Health. I believe that the best way to restore a community is through the healing of the mind, body, and spirit. With these credentials, I aim to advocate for the health and wellness of marginalized communities. To start off my career, I want to research systemic health issues affecting these populations. It is crucial to include these perspectives in research to develop inclusive and effective solutions for healthier communities and ways of living. I like to live by the idea of stepping outside your comfort zone and trusting that your passion and determination will take you anywhere you want to go in life. Thank you for viewing my profile!
