Like so many other kids, I grew up playing with Hot Wheels. I never imagined the significance those die-cast cars would have in my future. Since my early childhood, I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in the automotive industry. For as long as I can remember, I have taken every opportunity to immerse myself in the car scene. At first, my parents thought it a bit peculiar that their little girl who loved playing princess also loved playing with toy cars. However, it quickly became apparent which pass-time was a phase and which one was there to stay. Being a girl that likes cars has always been a unique experience. I never let anyone's gender define their abilities. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for others. I have four younger siblings who will grow up in the same world as me, and I want nothing more than to show them that they can achieve anything in life regardless of their gender. Despite the skeptics I have met in my lifetime, I have met many others who have not doubted my capabilities. The support of my family has pushed me to take my passion and pursue an academic career. After earning my Associate of Science and Associate of Applied Science in Automotive Technology in 2022, I plan on pursuing higher education at an Arizona university. I want to major in automotive engineering, or a related engineering field because it perfectly combines my passion with my education and future career goals.
