My name is Nomu Anglamenga, I am a triplet and a 17 years old. Nomu means Love in the Dagaare language, which originates from the Upper West Region of Ghana were i was born and rasied. Growing up in an African home, my parents worked 24/7 to ensure we got everything we needed to succeed. Moving from one places to other has offered me the opportunity to grow into a more independent woman. I have come to realize that a feeling of belonging can be established wherever I happen to be. Understanding that a community is formed through the relationships, among its members of the structures themselves I aim to maintain this approach of building connections and fostering a sense of belonging in my college journey by ensuring that every interaction is grounded in the principles of curiosity, compassion, resilience and tolerance. Similar to the skills I’ve developed through flying I will welcome both the separation I will face during college and the opportunity to reconnect with loved ones.The reasons I remain passionate about flying have likely existed since I started as a child. I have always viewed flying as a symbol of promise because it embodies possibility. My greatest aspiration is to fly as a commercial pilot, for Emirates Airlines. I see air travel as a means to provide continuity and a bridge between two different worlds. Through becoming a commercial pilot, I will have an opportunity to provide other people the same freedoms, sense of belonging, and connections that come with air travel.
