Hello, my name is Noelle. I'm currently a senior in high school with the dream of entering the field of nursing. In high school I was a Varsity Tennis player, top 3, and attended the WAC tournament all while maintaing my gpa and AP courses. I plan on coming out of school hopefully debt free which is why any amount of scholarship money would be greatly appretiated. My goal is to help people in the hospital and be there for them not only physically, but mentally as well. My mother is a survivor of Guillain-Barre syndrome which is an autoimmune disease. She credits much of her recovery to the amazing nurses that helped her heal and after hearing her experiences with both good and bad nurses, it's my goal to pursue this field and be a part of the good that help people want to recover.

Science Fiction Becomes Science Fact Scholarship
The above quote describes this generation and society's most prevelant issue. When interacting online, civil discourse and actions are often forgotten. The power of anonimity and the ability to wait and read through a message allows human beings to take the time to make conversation and figure out their next move when meeting someone new or talking to friends. For example, messaging on discord. With the ability to turn off whether the person can see if you read their message or not, it's easy to read over a chat, digest it, and figure out what you'll say next. Because we are behind a screen and hidden, it's easier to say things because we don't have to deal with their response in real-life or yours as well and how they'll percieve. This negatively effects real-life social interaction because it makes interacting more difficult when you are face to face and can't just turn off the chat when there's nothing left to say.
Quarantine was an example of this because so many people resorted to talking online and when it came down to it, conversing in person was a difficult and often uncomfortable thing. I experienced my old friend group drift apart because there was little to no interaction in real-life and this caused a very distant bond among us all that ended in some groups drifting and others staying. I think this occured in many groups because it is hard to relate to people offline and possibly don't have any classes together. People tend to be bolder online which is beneficial to relationships. Online forums have stripped people from their ability to be outgoing in the real-world.
Online gaming forums, like any online platform, is also where people don't take into consideration the effects their words will have on others. Being anonymous allows people to say things they normally couldn't or wouldn't say to someone's face because there is no one to come after them. You can see this a lot on places like Instagram and Tik-Tok where people can be very cruel. The harshness people experience after putting themselves out on the internet can be detrimental to their confidence. After experiencing conversations and judgment on a forum, your personality could easily change in real life too. The power of online gaming forums is seen in the difference someone may dress, behave, or interact as well and it's also guilty for friendgroups either falling apart or sticking together.
