Many kids dream of one day working as an astronaut, a professional athlete, or a famous musician. For me, I have always wanted to be in the cockpit of an airplane. For as long as I can remember I have been obsessed with flying planes. When I was 5 years old we took our first flight on a family vacation to Florida and I haven’t stopped talking about flying since. It has always been my dream to one day operate aircraft but also to do it right. I highly value safety and hard work which is why I would like to pursue a college degree in aviation. Firstly, I want to be a well-respected and efficient pilot and plan to one day work for commercial airlines. With an aviation degree, I plan to pursue a career in which I can help safely transport people looking to travel. In my opinion, traveling is a valuable piece of our society and everyone has the right to access safe transport. I would love to aid the people of our world in their ventures. Furthermore, my great-grandad, Everette Jividen, was a World War 2 American fighter pilot. He is recognized in the Aviation Hall of Fame in the Smithsonian in Washington D.C. He inspires me every day and I hope to one day fly as well as him. Although I may have different aspirations, wanting to fly commercial instead of for the military, I still wish to follow in my great-grandfather's footsteps and become a great pilot. Moreover, I have been involved in my community in various projects over the past few years. I have volunteered in ways such as packing food and delivering items to those in need. I have worked with my church, North Star, to do many of these projects. On top of this, I have volunteered for my school district on a few occasions, the first being a program called Link Crew. This was where a group of seniors helped upcoming freshman learn their way around Loveland High School and have a friendly face to ask questions to. I also helped our district by going to Loveland Elementary School to discuss clubs our district has. I gave day-long presentations to various third and fourth-graders about clubs they could potentially join. This was an enjoyable and rewarding way to connect with the younger students. I felt that these were all very important to those around me and I plan to aid my community more in the upcoming future. In conclusion, I am very passionate about earning my aviation degree and serving my community in every way I can.
