  I volunteer all-year-round with local non-profit organizations. Each year, we host an annual service project for a local food pantry and, for the past four years, I have mentored other volunteers on this service project. Other projects I have been a part of include recording children’s books for quarantined children, Christmas shopping for low-income families, book drives, and school clean-up days. In all my years as a member of Key Club, I have accumulated over 300 hours of community service and received two Presidential Volunteer Gold Service awards.

  Mission:

  My friend and I co-founded CORE as a safe space for students of all backgrounds to discuss racial and political issues. I have also served as Vice President. We organize and host an annual Black History Month program for our school and community. We also partner with local libraries on a social justice initiative called Race Project KC, where we educate our community on the history of racial injustice and redlining in Kansas City. During my time in CORE, I’ve helped expand club participation to more students and into the community. We strongly believe in inclusivity, education, and anti-racism.
