Bio

I’ve always struggled with mental health, specifically because of anxiety and selective mutism. I hated asking for help so I just kept everything to myself but that made things harder. When I was in 5th grade, my mom put me in therapy for a few weeks, but I didn’t like it, so I stopped going. From 5th to 11th grade, I suffered every day, and I decided that I needed help, so I gave therapy another chance and I warmed up to it fast. I think the reason why I didn’t like therapy earlier was because I had the wrong therapist. Everyone is different and not everyone gets along. Me and my therapist grew close, and it was easy to open to her. At this time, I had no idea what I wanted to be in the future, but I realized that I want to help people the way that my therapist helps me. I’ve always loved talking to people about their feelings and making them feel better. I’m always there for people if they ever need to rant. No matter where I am or what I’m doing, I will stop what I'm doing to talk to someone if they need me. I’m currently taking a psychology class so that I can be prepared. I plan on going to college, majoring in psychology, and being a therapist specifically for mental health in the future. My friends and family keep me motivated because they think I’d be a perfect fit for a therapist considering everything I’ve been through. I hope to be a therapist that people feel safe with.
