When I think about college, all I can imagine are the endless possibilities and connections/relationships I can’t wait to build. I know most people are sad to leave high school or to graduate, but the idea of finally going after my dreams and seizing the opportunities that I have been waiting for overtook any feelings of fear. College means meeting people who could become a bridesmaid at my wedding or getting the internship that I need to start my own law firm in the future. It means creating memories that will become stories or having the chance to leave my mark wherever life takes me. If someone told me I would be going to FSU a few years ago, I would have been so confused as I have always longed to go out of state as far as Boston or even California. But after being accepted and looking at everything FSU could offer me, I knew I couldn’t let this opportunity slip out of reach. And while FSU may be known as a party school, I intend to not only take advantage of the knowledge I could gain from professors at one of the best law schools in Florida, but enjoy my college experience as I worked tirelessly throughout high school to get this far. While at college, I hope to accomplish many things, but in particular, I want to be able to look back and feel confident in saying that I took hold of every opportunity that was given, and never regret missing out on experiences that shaped me into the person I am today. While away at college, I aim to find new passions, rekindle old ones, and shape my craft so that I can understand myself and shape my future to my liking. And while I may get sad at times to move on from high school and all I’ve ever known, I could not be more excited to begin this new chapter of my life with the eagerness to start building the dream life and career I have been pushing towards. I am ready to take on any challenges, as they will push me to fight for my hopes and goals. Baby steps and building blocks are the foundation for any idea to become a reality, and for me, college will be the stepping stone I need in order to reach the full potential of my goals.
