My goals in life have always been driven by my desire to create art and to help others. I got my first degree in Political Economics and Development after seeing the disparity in resource dispersion at home and abroad. These observations brought me to Ethiopia for a month to gain a global perspective on these issues. Healthcare and medicine stole my heart after college, and after assisting in a surgery that returned a mans ability to walk, I became certain that I'm meant to be a health care provider. As a nurse, I intend to provide patient centric care and work in a critical care, emergency, or intensive care unit. After graduation, I hope to continue to grow my small business, Crooked Smile Boutique, which specializes in custom art and hand painted clothing. Once financially stable, I am going to donate a portion of all proceeds to non-profit and local advocacy groups.
