Nearly from his inception, Superman has been a symbol of the ideal person. No run of the character embodies this more than Grant Morrison's All-Star Superman. Anyone who knows the man of steel can instantly see the power in the idea of this unkillable man being faced with the idea of death. I went through a period of my life where many of my friends and family were passing away, and it began to lead me to a point where I was beginning wonder why it was worth putting all the effort in to make something out of a life when it all comes to naught in the end. When Superman is faced with that same mortality, he decides to make something with his time. That example inspired me to move forward with my life and try to make something meaningful rather than be paralyzed by the thought of death.
