I am passionate about nursing and dedicated to helping children and those in need. I strive to be a good person and make a positive impact by helping everyone I can. Alongside my academic goals, I am a committed football player and was selected as a team captain on a 52-player team, a role that reflects my leadership, discipline, and teamwork. I volunteer with a special needs football team and plan to help with their baseball team as well, even though I have no prior baseball experience, because I believe in stepping up wherever help is needed. I am passionate about nursing because it allows me to turn my desire to help others into meaningful, lifelong service. I have always believed that being a good person means showing up for people during their most difficult moments, offering support, compassion, and understanding. Nursing represents a profession where human connection, action, and care come together to truly impact lives. It is a career that allows me to be a light during someone’s darkest times while providing skilled and compassionate care.
What I hope to gain from my career as a nurse is the opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of patients and their families. I want to grow into a nurse who is not only clinically skilled but also emotionally present and dependable. Nursing aligns with my life goals of helping people in need, starting a family, and building a future centered on service. I hope to continuously learn, improve, and use my experiences to better serve my community while finding personal fulfillment through helping others.
The area of nursing I hope to enter is pediatric nursing. My passion for helping children and my experiences volunteering with a special needs football team have strongly influenced this goal. Working with these athletes has taught me the value of patience, positivity, and encouragement. I have learned that sometimes the most meaningful impact comes not from expertise, but from effort, consistency, and heart. I also plan to assist with their baseball team despite having no experience, because being willing to step in and help reflects the same mindset required in nursing—putting others first and learning along the way.
In pediatric nursing, I hope to make a meaningful impact by creating a safe, comforting, and positive environment for children and their families. Medical settings can be overwhelming and frightening for young patients, and I want to help ease those fears through kindness, reassurance, and genuine human touch. I aim to support families by communicating clearly, listening to their concerns, and advocating for their children’s needs.
By combining leadership skills developed as a football team captain with compassion and empathy, I hope to positively influence my specialty. Patients may not remember every procedure or treatment, but they will remember how they were treated as a person, not just a patient. Through my actions, positivity, and dedication, I hope to contribute to better patient experiences, stronger trust in healthcare, and lasting positive change within pediatric nursing.

My inspiration for pursuing a career in nursing stems from my passion for helping others and my desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, particularly in the lives of children and individuals with special needs. I have always believed that being a good person means showing up for others when they need support, compassion, and understanding. Nursing represents a career where I can live out those values every day.
Through volunteering with a special needs football team, I have learned the importance of patience, empathy, and encouragement. Working with these athletes has shown me the significant impact that simple acts of kindness and reassurance can have on someone’s confidence and well-being. I plan to continue helping with their baseball team, even though I have no experience in baseball, because my goal is not perfection, but presence. Being willing to step in and help wherever needed is what draws me to the nursing profession.
As a football player and team captain on a 52-player team, I have developed leadership, discipline, and teamwork skills that translate directly into healthcare. Leading by example taught me responsibility, communication, and how to support others through challenges. These experiences have reinforced my desire to work in a profession where collaboration and trust are essential.
Nursing aligns with my life goals of starting a family and building a career centered on service. I am motivated by the idea of being there for patients during vulnerable moments and providing both physical care and emotional support. Nursing is more than a profession to me—it is a way to contribute positively to the world while staying true to who I am.
As a nurse, I hope to contribute to my community by being a positive and reliable presence for people during some of the most challenging moments of their lives. I want to provide not only quality medical care, but also compassion, encouragement, and understanding. I believe that healthcare is about more than treating symptoms—it is about supporting individuals as whole people.
I hope to advocate for patients who may feel unheard or overwhelmed, especially children and individuals with special needs. Through my experiences volunteering with a special needs football team, I have learned the importance of patience, positivity, and meeting people where they are. These experiences have shaped my desire to work closely with vulnerable populations and ensure they feel respected, safe, and valued.
Ultimately, I hope to be a nurse who makes a lasting impact through actions, positivity, and service. By being a light during difficult times and consistently striving to help others, I aim to strengthen my community and build trust with the people I serve.

To me, the phrase “human touch” means more than simply helping people—it means impacting their lives through meaningful actions, positivity, and genuine care. Human touch is about being present for someone during their most vulnerable moments and choosing to bring comfort, hope, and reassurance when they need it most. It is the ability to be a light in someone’s dark time, even through small but intentional acts.
In patient care, human touch can deeply influence how patients experience illness, recovery, and healing. Medical treatment alone cannot always ease fear or uncertainty, but a nurse’s positive presence can. Simple actions such as speaking with kindness, listening without rushing, or offering encouragement can change how a patient feels both emotionally and mentally. These moments of connection can help patients feel seen as individuals rather than just diagnoses.
My experiences volunteering with a special needs football team have shown me how powerful positivity and encouragement can be. Often, it is not about skill or results, but about showing belief in someone and helping them feel valued. I plan to assist with their baseball team as well, despite having no experience, because human touch is not about expertise—it is about effort, presence, and heart. Those same principles apply directly to nursing.
I learned that leadership is demonstrated through actions, not words alone. Supporting teammates through challenges, motivating them during difficult moments, and maintaining a positive attitude taught me how impactful encouragement can be. In healthcare, patients may be facing fear, pain, or uncertainty, and a nurse’s attitude can influence their outlook.
Human touch has the power to affect lives beyond medical care. Patients may forget specific treatments, but they will remember how a nurse made them feel during a difficult time. By combining compassion with action, human touch transforms nursing into a profession that heals not only the body but also the spirit.
