Being American to me means standing up for what is right while making our country better than it was before. We are already a great country, but we aren't perfect. Being an American is fixing those problems we have, no matter how big or small. We are brave people, and we can face any problem given to us with determination and focus. While American soldiers and veterans have fought for regular citizens like me and my family, the citizens of this nation fight for America domestically because we can't all fight outside of this country. Not only is being American a right, but it is also a duty to uphold our morals and dignity. Being American is not only just making this country better, but making the world better. We are inventors, thinkers, artists, hard workers, and so much more. Being American means that you have the freedom to do anything, and true Americans use that freedom to do something marvelous and push us closer to the future. Our country is less than 300 years old and yet, because of our people, we are one of the biggest and best countries in the world. Americans stand up for the rights of the people, we respect others even if they are completely different from us. Being an American means being creative; we find creative solutions to hard problems. Without our creativity, we would never have sent a rocket to the moon or rovers to Mars. We think, we feel, we have faith, we have trust, and so much more. That is what being an American is. Being American means that you are brave enough to call out a wrong no matter what. It could be by someone you know and yet an American would call them out on their wrong. Being an American means that you are a vindicator and that you stand up for what is right. Ending racism is right, ending fascism is right, helping the struggling is right. This is what an American does for their country, that is what being an American is. This is our country, and we want to keep it clean of this sneaking evil. Being American means valuing the health of others, mental and physical. A true American would care about how anyone's health is and is willing to help those people who need it. Being an American means that you are willing to give a helping hand to anyone in need, and not just with money. Americans stand by one another because we know that we are all the same. We are all people who need help at times and are willing to help others when they need it. An American cares about their fellow Americans, and not only just other Americans, but people from foreign countries who need help. In the end, being American means that you are brave, creative, strong, caring, loving, and so much more. Some are very inventive, while others are talented artists. We speak what we feel and think, and that is truly American. Being an American can mean so many different things, but overall, being American means being a force of goodness in the world.
