Nia Saunders is a motivated high school senior who will attend Spelman College in the Fall of 2026 to major in Political Science and minor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, with the goal of attending law school. She has a strong passion for civil rights, advocacy, and entrepreneurship, and she hopes to use her education to provide legal support and empower her community. Nia is committed to creating meaningful change through creative problem-solving, policy, advocacy, and service. She serves as Vice President of the African American Culture Club, has held leadership roles in the YMCA Leadership Club, and is a member of the Regional Youth Advisory Council Board. She is enrolled in the Chesterfield Technical Center pursuing her cosmetology license and was recently nominated as Student of the Year at Clover Hill High School. Her dedication to academics, leadership, and community engagement is reflected through her involvement in programs such as the Howard University School of Business Summer Enrichment Program, the Just The Beginning Summer Legal Program at Howard University School of Law, the Washington College Advanced Summer Leadership Seminar, and the Virginia Tech Inside Architecture & Design Summer Camp. She is also a member of the English Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, and BETA Club. Nia’s leadership, resilience, and commitment to empowering others make her a standout student and a role model for her peers.
