      Supermom Scholarship
I am a child of a single mother, and she has shown me so much strength. She has always been my number one supporter, and tried to give me anything I needed. My mom had me at a young age, so it was very difficult for her. I often applaud her for having to give up so much to take care of me. Because of this I will be the first person in my family to graduate. She has taught me right from wrong & kept me in many activities. She always pushes me to do my very best in all school work. I like to think that I will be graduating for the both of us. She has impacted me in so many ways. Such as how to be independent, strong and to always fight for what matters to me. Growing up I was especially impacted because we basically grew up together. I got to learn the world in her eyes & she always gave me the honest truth. Because of her I am the great women I am today. Which has also made me into a very determined person, to always get the very best. I’m sure her being a single parent was very difficult, but I’m glad that we were able to go through anything together. Now that I am older, we are definitely best friends and I couldn’t see it any other way. I am glad that she was able to impact me in the right ways. Because of her I will always be a strong, independent, and determined. She has also been able to give me great advice about pretty much anything. Whenever I feel lost I know that she can help me in any way. She inspires me everyday and I know that when I decide to have my own children, I will be the very best mother. She is very resilient, strong-headed, and caring. She still surprises me with how much she is able to do. I thank her very often and without her, I’m not sure either of us would be able to survive. I like to think that when I graduate college, it will be for the both of us. Although, she didn’t get her chance to do so, she still is there for me every step of my college days. Listening to me complain about homework. I wouldn’t want it any other way.
      Pet Lover Scholarship
My pets are my emotional support animals. They are very comforting, and give me a will to keep pursuing better things. I like to think of them as my children & I want to give them all the treats in the world. I want them to come with me every step of the way & continue to thrive. Being without pets I would feel lonely & unmotivated, I now have 2 cats. Anytime I feel sad or alone, I’m reminded that they love me & count on me to care for them. My spirits are always high when they are around, chasing each other & just being cats. I often play with them to help my own mental health, whenever I need a break. Although, they have tiny brains & don’t know what’s really going on, they help me. They changed my life by just being them.
