Justin Moeller Memorial Scholarship
During my elementary school years, I had the exciting opportunity to participate in my school's robotics program, which ignited my passion for technology and coding. My group, composed of a few close friends and myself, was tasked with an ambitious project: to design, build, and code a functional robot. I eagerly took on the responsibility of coding, where I quickly found my fascination for programming blossoming. This was, without a doubt, the most engaging project I had ever undertaken, and it laid the groundwork for my future in technology.
Since that formative experience, I have consistently dedicated my time to working on various coding projects, focusing primarily on developing simple tasks and functionalities for video games. Over the past eight years, my commitment to understanding coding and other technology-related subjects has only grown stronger. In high school, I furthered my skills by earning my Microsoft Office Specialist certificate, which not only enhanced my proficiency in software but also reinforced my determination to explore the vast world of technology.
I am particularly captivated by the intersection of technology and everyday life, especially as our world continues to transition into an increasingly digital age. I spend much of my free time delving into the latest technological advancements, always eager to learn how these innovations can impact our daily experiences.
Currently, I am particularly fascinated by the technological aspects of forensic psychology. Technology has become an integral tool in law enforcement; it is well-documented that police often begin investigations by analyzing an individual's online history. The use of computer and phone records has proven to be invaluable during investigations, illuminating crucial leads that may have otherwise gone unnoticed.
Psychology remains another of my passions, and I strongly believe that its principles can be effectively integrated into technology. However, I feel that we do not sufficiently consider the ramifications of increased technology use, particularly among the younger generation.
The COVID-19 pandemic prompted a dramatic shift in my educational experience, as all my schooling transitioned online. Even now, the vast majority of our academic work is completed digitally. Through this shift, I've observed significant changes in student interactions. Face-to-face communication has dwindled, with many students opting for digital platforms for their social interactions. Furthermore, the psychological effects of prolonged computer usage throughout the day are not adequately monitored, raising concerns about the long-term implications for student well-being. I believe it is vital to explore these changes and their effects on mental health to better understand and support my generation in this evolving technological landscape.
Love Island Fan Scholarship
My idea for a new love island challenge is called "exs-and-ohs"
Essentially, the premise is that the islanders go to a fire pit and write down everything about their previous dating history.
Essentially, each islander will be given a note card with another Islanders past dating life. From there, each islander must take turns and guess which past belongs to another contestant.
Following everyone securing their guesses, the answer is revealed. For some extra drama, the islander will only get around a minute to explain the story behind their secret.
If an individual guesses wrong, they're allowed to get 30 seconds to explain why they guessed the individual they chose.
I think this challenge would be incredibly revealing about some of the contestants. Furthermore, it forces contestants to be quick and honest with their answers.
Many watch for the drama and I believe this would ramp up the drama exponentially. Potentially, this could give a deeper insight into the Islanders plus it helps them reflect. If all their romantic experiences are shown entirely, it may help them figure out what they want in a partner. It could additionally show what an individual doesn't desire in their partner. I believe this challenge would be a great addition to the show.
