Hello, My name is Najib Muhumed.Learning to code, creating websites, and performing science experiments are some of my favorite things to do. When I am not coding or exploring, I enjoy playing basketball with my friends. In my spare time, I like to read novels and go bike riding. In ten years, I aim to have my own computer firm and be able to have a positive influence on the world. I've always thought that while I can't change the world on my own, I can cast a stone into the water and cause a lot of ripples. Charles Pulling Sr. Memorial Scholarship
Being a first generation student I’ve always have been at a disadvantage but I use that to drive myself and keep on working harder towards achieving my goal of finishing college and starting my own car company someday. A large family of 14 siblings has definitely been the drive for me, the urge to keep on going, taking it all the way back to elementary. Being able to not understand the language of English and not being able to write my name or introduce myself to my peers because I didn’t understand the language. That pushed me to learn and work hard everyday, writing my name over and over again and again. From reading stop signs, to finally reading comic books in 3rd grade and understanding what was happening in those books. That definitely gave me joy. Seeing all the progress since kindergarten. Then coming to middle school and learning very hard math such as algebra and geometry. I was once again challenged and went to tutoring sessions when my classmates were having a blast playing video games or watching tv. That made me a bit sad but also reminded me of the WHY.?why am I studying when I could be playing basketball with my friends? Why am I learning math? Will I make it to the end? Why am I going to school again? My parents, who left their dreams and passions in life to sacrifice their time, energy and dreams so that WE OURSELFS could succeed and make our own dreams a reality. That is also another factor into why I am doing all I can to finishing college and hopefully succeed in my future career.
Holistic Health Scholarship
I try to be active weather that’s reading a book or staying fit by lifting weights and playing basketball. One of my favorite activities would be running around the block or taking a breath taking walk. They help calm down stressful times especially with school and finishing work loads of assignments. Nutritional wise I try to limit my sugar intake as well as note the calories I consume on a daily basis. Mentally I try to have fun and try to get my brain working better by talking about different discussions with my friends as well as listening to calm instrumental music on YouTube. All in all, doing those little things and activities have tremendously improved and impacted my life for the better.

I am passionate about English composition and literature because it is not only fun but interesting. Writing essays and learning new ways to compose those essays weather it’s informative, persuasive, or just motivating. Moreover the literature end is also just as exciting. Getting a 3.9 GPA in school is a great memory for me. Since entering 11th grade last year, I've finally accomplished one of my difficult ambitions. I accomplished something that few students do. Hello, my name is Najib Muhumed and my passion has always been to make it to the NBA. As a young kid, I was always a bit shorter than the average Joe. Many of my peers were taller than me and they used that to their advantage. I had to understand the game mentally and physically to adapt and adjust my weaknesses into strengths. In the coming year of my 8th grade year after my growth spurt I grew from 5'2 to 5'7. Not a tremendous change right? Correctomundo! kids my age around that time were 5'9 5'11 or even 6'2. But I still went on and practice on my flaws such as my 3 point shooting and mid-range shots. Once I came into high school, everything had changed. My height was measly still the same but the rules had shifted and the environment we were in had changed (middle school to high school). Again I had to adapt to the game and play a bit harder than usual. Now I really wanted to put my game even higher than its ever been.Its always been a dream of mine to dunk like Spud Webb and I started practicing my dunking just this year. So I started on a low rim first and progressed from there. Maybe one day I'll be able to reach my desired goals and make it to the league. But for now I got to focus on only what's in front of me. 1 thing at a time would suffice.

Hello my name is Najib Muhumed, Im a junior at a school called Ubah medical academy. I love playing sports especially basketball. My motto in life is to change myself in the best way I could become then change the world. There is a quote that i always try to act upon it states that " We can't change the world unless we change ourselves". Which is actually true you must first be the best YOU that you can become. Then you could make a change. I always wanted to become a businessman or an entrepreneur. One day I started making lists of problems that i could solve that annoy me for example when its winter in Minnesota and my feet get cold on the bus, I thought what if i invented socks that have heat inside them( project unfinished), and as long as I could remember I've always wanted to start a successful business. Imagine a world where the average person was able to get 10, 20, or 30 more years of youthful life to further leverage and enjoy their skills, relationships, and experience. How much more human satisfaction and advancement would be unleashed if they lived that long. It would help family members learn more about their family tree and they could talk to their great grandparents or grandparents. My plan to prolong human longevity would be 1 simple word. ¨Exercise¨. Exercising can make your muscles physically tired, but you’ll feel more energized from it. Additionally, Exercise increases your blood flow which means that your heart is pumping oxygen to your brain, muscles, and tissues faster. It also promotes the release of neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin, and natural endorphins that will make you feel better and more energized. Even moderate exercise can improve your energy levels! It's crucial to understand exercise cannot make up for either not enough or poor quality sleep. Furthermore, sleep apnea and other sleep disorders can disrupt your sleep cycles, leaving you tired all day. People quit exercising for many reasons, including too much too soon: If you go from no exercise at all to hitting the gym seven days a week, you're bound to feel burnt out. Instead, ease into a new routine. Confusion Do your research. Find out more about the machines at the gym and learn a little basic anatomy so you can target your exercises to your goals. If you go in without a plan, you're more likely to choose random exercises or complete them sporadically. Most gyms offer how-to tours of their facilities. Boredom: Some people love treadmills or stationary bikes, but others find walking or pedaling to nowhere gets old fast. If you're quickly getting bored with the exercises you've chosen, they may not be a good fit. Find something that holds your interest for the long haul or that offers enough variety to keep your workout from feeling stale. Soreness: When you're just starting, soreness is to be expected. However, you should still be able to function. If you're so exhausted after your workout that you can't lift your head off the pillow or you get an injury while exercising, you're not likely to feel motivated to get back to it once you're feeling better. If you're not losing weight as fast as you hoped or getting sculpted abs, the frustration might make you want to throw in the towel. Remember: You don't put weight on or become deconditioned overnight. Likewise, you can't lose weight or rebuild your strength overnight either. Getting started is the first step toward reaching your fitness goals. Give your body time to react. “I just don’t have the time to work out.” Sound familiar? We are all busy. Jobs, school, family, cleaning, gardening, car repairs, appointments, social obligations, catching up on your favorite shows, etc., etc. The list goes on and on. In our fast-paced world is it any wonder that most people shove exercise to the very bottom of their list? Making time to workout without disrupting your life can seem like an impossible task at times. It’s easy to say “just make time,” but the reality is rarely that easy. Sure, for some people, simply being diligent about blocking out a certain hour of the day will do the trick.

Hello, my name is Najib Muhumed. I am a sophomore at Ubah Medical Academy. As a child of immigrant parents, I learned to take responsibility for my family and myself at a very young age. Although my parents spoke English, they constantly worked hard to financially support my family. My parents always pushed me toward education and graduating from college. They wanted a better life for me, they did not have the opportunity to go to school when they were my age. I saw my parents struggling to support our family and I became determined I started taking my school seriously and putting in all my effort in my schoolwork. My older sister is the first one to go to college. She has taught me that the only objects holding me back are the ones I place on myself, the ones I decide will hold me back. So I thought if my sister could achieve her dreams I can too! I also learned to be a good role model for my siblings by doing well in school and helping them with their school work. moreover, the three things that are important to me are my family, being successful, and leaving a legacy. I keep these important things at the forefront of my mind every day, to remind myself for what I'm fighting for. I did not choose a career that would fit my interest, and I still haven't decided on a major for college. But I´m thinking of being an engineer or an entrepreneur but I think my job will most likely be between 3 types of engineers either a mechanical engineer, a software engineer, or a chemical engineer. Additionally, I plan on changing the world with this scholarship. One of my goals in life is to make a positive impact on the world. If I win this scholarship I plan on finding a solution to air pollution and greenhouse gas. Factories produce air pollution by burning fuels such as fossil fuels and as a result, they carry out chemical processes and releases dust and other particulates into the atmosphere. According to the EPA, 50 percent of air pollution is caused by factories and industrial pollution. I also would try to find a solution to disease-causing deaths like Cancer, Stroke, Ischemic heart disease and many more I would try to find a drug that could exterminate pathogens and maybe find a vaccine that triggered the human body to fight the disease or a drug that could kill the disease. To sum up I would find a new way that factories can run without contributing to air pollution and find a solution to insignificant diseases. In 10 years I hope to see myself owning my own company and making a positive impact on the world. Furthermore, I´ve always believed that I alone can´t change the world, but I can cast a stone across the water to create many ripples. In college, I also want to complete my Bachelor's degree and have a great life.
