My name is Neha Ali. I will be a college sophomore this year. I am majoring in psychology and minoring in business administration. I strive to earn a Ph.D. in counseling psychology, a path this scholarship will help me embark on. My passion for teaching and helping others has been a part of me since elementary school and with a Ph.D., I can turn these passions into a career as a therapist and a professor. This award will significantly alleviate the financial burden of attending graduate school, making my undergraduate journey less stressful by helping me save money. My ultimate dream is to make my grandfather proud with my Ph.D., a document of my official status as a doctor. I also aim to make my parents proud, demonstrating their efforts have paid off. With this scholarship, I can turn these dreams into reality through financial support to lessen the worry of my undergraduate payments and save for graduate school studies. I want to give back to my community by becoming a therapist for Ismaili Muslims and breaking the stigma against seeking help for mental health. I also want to continue working with kids and offer my expertise and support in communities where mental health care is unaffordable. I want to be able to come and give lectures or sessions where people can learn for free how to be better for themselves and others so there is nothing to lose. I want to give back to the youth in ways I wish I had supported as a child, especially mentally.

I will major in psychology and earn a business administration minor. I am passionate about pursuing a psychology major to become a clinical or counseling psychologist. I want to help people in the future. After taking a psychology class at my high school, I became interested in how humans function and why we function the way we do. I don't think anyone inspired me to pursue a career in psychology because my interest rose during the quarantine times when I was exploring careers on the internet. I want this scholarship because I need to seek a higher education, make my family proud, and have a set career in my future. Seeking higher education is also important because my mom and dad couldn't complete their education since they had to focus on their family. My parents are here to support me fully, and they have continuously reminded me to focus on my future and career, and everything else will fall into place. With my degree in psychology, I hope to help people as a clinical or counseling psychologist. With a certification in teaching, I hope to work with children as a middle school teacher. I have made a difference in my community by volunteering for many service projects and opportunities. In my school clubs, TAFE and FCCLA, I have done various things to give back to the community, such as a lake cleanup, buying a bear as a donation to a children's hospital, and baking cookies to donate to a food pantry. I have also been a youth volunteer at the Ismaili Jamatkhana of Austin since I was 8. I've collected food offerings, cleaned tables and dishes, offered elders water, and assisted in other tasks. I've also been volunteering as a teacher for sixth-grade students at the religious education center in the Ismaili Jamatkhana to teach them about the Islamic faith and history. To me, being a Muslim means following Allah's right path and guidance. Being a Muslim means following the five pillars of Islam, and one of them is Zakah. I want to give back to my community in all possible ways, whether through donations, volunteering, or working for the community. Being a Muslim means working hard and having a strong work ethic in school, work, and life. As a Muslim, it is important to take care of the bodies that Allah has provided us with by staying healthy mentally, spiritually, physically, and intellectually. My greatest achievement is pursuing higher education. My favorite book is The Dopamine of More.

Voyager in the Soul tonite, a spirit was released from the cage, a cage with a heart of gold that had a stardust soul. it got so beyond control that finally it             became locked inside the doors & she came to realize her  soul purpose. one day the outsiders broke into that cage, but she was too         hasty for them. she didn’t let them into her stardust soul      her spirit in this cage is legendary but doesn’t last temporarily. back off from her she now learns to stand tall back off from her she doesn’t let in all back off from her stardust soul    she is a powerful soul. inner recognition. she learned when to put her foot down everybody can hear her, can’t they ? her soul has spread stardust *sparkle* she ain’t gonna let that soul rust  she doesn’t resist nor release  that stardust soul. her soul is yours & you’re her soul   leaving her insecurities, her soul breathes out all  impurities.
