I have been impacted by mental health. My parents were never married. He had a drinking problem. When I was younger he would emotionally abuse me and my sister and showed forms of physical as well. I never grew up with a father until my step dad came in. He then cheated on my mom and left us as well. Over the years I have struggled with depression and anxiety. Somedays I haven’t been able to get out of bed and very unmotivated. I have tried therapy and other medicine practices as well. They have helped and taught me that I am good enough and there’s ways to learn and look for the positives that come from trauma. My future goals help impact others are majoring in psychology for teens and in schools. I want to teach and help make a difference for kids who have experienced the same as I. I want to help teach them that they are meant to be here and will come out stronger in the end. We all go through trauma and we all experience some kind of mental health wether it’s seasonal depression or worse. I want to be the person that can make others comfortable and feel like they are good enough and there is a light at the end of the road.
