My name is Neelah McCarthy. I am a junior at UMass Amherst, where I am currently studying journalism. I am a published writer for the UMass Amherst Chapter of Her Campus. Additionally, I am passionate about politics, news literacy, and feminism. I am constantly reading about social issues as well as politics and how they intersect with our lives. In high school, I was a part of the National Honors Society as well as the Social Studies National Honors Society. Additionally, I was a competitive soccer player for over seven years. Overall, I am a well-rounded, hard-working student.
