My greatest passion in life is helping other people. I discovered this passion while working at the West Valley Food Pantry, a non-profit organization with the aim of ending hunger. It was heartbreaking to see the expressions on client's faces, pained with hunger, but it was such a joy to have the fulfillment of knowing that I was doing a small part in taking that pain away. This is where I discovered that whatever I want to do should be in the mission of making the world a better place. This is why I volunteer in a number of organizations(Food Pantry, Voice of Specially Abled People, YMCA, etc.), but also want to go into lawmaking so as to create a better world for people to live in. I also am a leader in my school, the president of several clubs and teams(MUN, Chess Club, Academic Decathlon the most notable among them), and 9/10th grade class President and Vice President respectively. Additionally, I enjoy thinking about humanitarian, societal, and moral dilemmas, preferring works such as To Kill a Mockingbird, 1984, Animal Farm, and The Lathe of Heaven to name a few.
Achievements: Published by the LA Times, Chalkbeat, EdSource, Gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award, City of LA Certificate for Volunteer of the Year, 4.78 GPA(Highest in my class), qualified for National Merit Scholarship Program, CIF LA City Section Champion, nominated to be LAUSD Ambassador.
