Bio
I draw, read comics and manga, and watch anime in my free time. I wish to create a comic book series that I will both draw and write, so I hope to get a scholarship in either one of these areas so that I can further improve my knowledge of them.

I have been drawing for as long as I can remember, it has been a constant in my life, and because of that, it's something that I love and want to continue to improve at for the rest of my life. My older sibling would draw and in the beginning, I would simply try to copy them. That's where I got my start and I haven't a clue why I was so interested in doing so but because of it my desire to improve kept growing. Growing up we watched a lot of cartoons and anime so we would copy the art from them into our notebooks.
I still have much of my art from those days, they don't look great at all but it was a starting point and always nostalgic to look back on. Once I saw my older sibling make a comic parodying an anime we liked, "Dragon Ball Z", it's one of the only times I them do so but similar to my becoming interested in drawing in general I would copy them and create my own comics. At the time I wouldn't know just how interested in comics I would become.
I continued to improve my drawing and try to improve with other mediums in school, though I am nowhere near as proficient. I constantly practice at home and in school and taking an art class every year is something that is important to me. However, another pass time would arise as I got older, in middle school watching anime became something I simply did every now and then something I loved and would do daily. I binged many hundred episode epics and am happy I spend my time doing so, as because of it I discovered something else, manga.
Manga are Japanese comics and I would read them from time to time when I was in elementary school, my local library had series called "One Piece", "Naruto", and Bleach" and at the time I read a bit of the manga but I would instead watch the anime to experience these series. However, eventually, I would find out that I enjoyed reading the manga more than watching the anime. It's akin to how moviegoers usually say the book a movie is adapted from was better, with the manga the reader gets the author's true intention, and that usually leads to a better product.
The stories they tell, the themes that surround them, but most of all, the art of manga is what makes me love them. Manga artists are some of the most talented artists I know and it is to the point where they make me want to become a comic book artist. I have already mentioned some of my favorites, One Piece, and Bleach but some others I love are Berserk, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, HunterXHunter, and Slam Dunk. The greatness of these mangas is what drives my passion, makes me want to improve as an artist and create something that I can call my own and that the world will love.
