Bio

I am compelled to unearth the factors contributing to domestic violence and trauma across generations, cultures, and societies. I studied psychology for my undergraduate degree, knowing that it would aid me in providing services for those who suffer from trauma and are victims of abuse. My ultimate goal is to complete a Ph.D. in Clinical psychology to assess and treat mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders with an emphasis on victims of abuse. I plan to open my own private practice after pursuing professional licensure as a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) in California. My objective is to analyze the factors that cause abusers to exhibit violent behaviors. By exploring this paradigm in the context of different cultures, I believe I will be able to identify trends and develop culturally adaptive, evidence-based interventions that make a long-lasting difference in the lives of victims and their families. I envision finding effective ways to promote healing and ensure better life outcomes for abuse victims.
