Hey! As you can probably tell by my profile and beautiful eyes, my name is Nathan. I have been pushing for my Mechanical Engineering Technology Degree since my Junior year in High school. I started off college at a dual enrollment high school, where I focused to complete the majority of my General Education and prerequisites in high school so I could focus on my upper-level courses and achieve my goal to be the youngest in my family to graduate with a Bachelor's degree. My mother and father pushed me to achievement, even at points where I lost my focus on my goal or felt like giving up. I have always been taught to be proud of myself no matter what and never to see money as the only reason to achieve a goal. This almost made me stray away from college to push law enforcement in order to help my community. However, I have chosen to carry on with my college career in hope that one day I could achieve excellence in my field and hopefully get into working towards a masters in mathematics later in life. I also hope to some day perform excellence in Jiu Jitsu as well but I have a long way to go in either.

Learner Math Lover Scholarship
In my honest opinion of why I love math, I love it because I was raised around it by my mother. I have ADHD and many teachers found it extremely difficult to teach me. My mother, however, pursued mathematics to better help students such as myself understand something so fundamental yet difficult to understand. Throughout my high school and college career my mother helped me understand every little concept and theory I needed to learn for the math to click so fluently. She figured out exactly what allows it to come together in my head and used it. I guess it was good practice using me because I used to be so difficult to teach compared to most students. I love math because my mother taught me that it is simple logic, no arguing over what opinion is better or what the hidden meaning behind the green curtain is. It is either right or wrong. With the occasional: "let's apply this and see if it works." Most equations I am forced to write down because I can do so much of the math I learn in my head. I used to be at a point where using the calculator was a way for me to write little numbers in my head I am putting together. This is why I love math because it is one of the only things that I can learn very easily.
