I have been a secondary school teacher since 2003.I have taught over 3000 students in a classroom setting. However,i do not posses any professional teaching qualification. Neither have i accomplished college education. I am currently working on my Penland High School project in Kiboga District,Uganda. However, the project has not yet taken off due to financial limitations Penland High School,Kiboga is a 6000 student capacity project expected to be funded by a bank loan.About Shs:36.000.000.000 ($10.000.000) is required for it's implementation. Once implemented ,it will be the biggest school project in Kiboga District and the surrounding areas. I also have plans to establish Penland University thereafter. My goal over the next ten years is to source for funding for the acquisition of college education and accomplishment of my investment plans. I am currently seeking for admission in colleges and Universities in the United States of America. However,i still have financial challenges. Even though i have wonderful ambitions, i am under resourced.I currently don't own any property, except a few personal belongings

My name is Kiganda Nathan.I was born in 1977 to Mukasa Nelson and Namusana Elizabeth (Betty) who by then were residents of Aboket , Kamuda sub-county , Soroti district, Uganda. I was raised by my grandmother, Namyalo Agnes. This was because my father and mother separated when I was still young. My grandmother told me that this happened when I was nine months old. I started going to school in 1983 at Aminit Primary School in Soroti.A year later,my father transferred me to Kamuda Primary School and I was made to repeat Primary one(P1).I left the school in 1987 due to political instabilities. War broke out 1987 when I was ten years old. The rebels of the Uganda People’s Defence Army (UPDA) took over my school and turned it into a rebel training camp and for a year, the school didn’t operate. I am a survivor. I witnessed the music of fire exchange between the UPDA rebels and the National Resistance Army (NRA). Sometimes it could be Sura Mbaya (Helicopter Gunship) bombing crowded areas. We also faced the problem of the Karimojong Cattle rustlers who were ruthless and could shoot anybody who could dare cross along their way I am lucky that not even a single bullet kissed any part of my body. One day, I was captured by a Karimojong cattle rustler but released along the way. He found us at The Aboket borehole near the Cattle Dip. The war made my father poor and when we later migrated to Mbale,he could not pay for my school fees at Kolonyi Primary School. At a tender age, I started working. I worked in a restaurants as well as a brick maker.I also worked in people’s gardens and at construction sites as a porter. Later,in 1990 dad took us to Kiboga where I burnt charcoal to finance my educational costs at Muyenje Primary School. In 1991,I escaped from my father and went back to Mbale.I later got a job at Mr.C.W.Kabaoggoza Musoke's home as an employee in the poultry farm. This was my turning point. The following year,I enrolled at Namunsi Primary School with my earnings from the poultry farm clearing my school dues. I emerged the best student in Nakaloke subcounty in 1993 Primary Leaving Examinations and I was offered a bursary which financed me at Mbale Secondary School(1993-1997.) In 1997, in hotly contested elections,I was elected Assistant Headboy of the school. I attended my upper secondary school(Advanced Level) at Kiira College Butiki in Jinja Uganda where I was a Deputy Headprefect as well as President Uganda Student Administrators' Association(USAA). After the completion of my secondary school studies,I briefly made two unsuccessful attempts at Makerere University,Kampala and Delhi University,New Delhi,India, but in both cases I dropped out due to financial limitations. I have been a secondary school teacher since 2003 .I have also previously operated private schools in which I helped many school dropouts to resume school, some of whom have progressed up to college. My schools no longer exist, though. My plan over the next ten years is to establish Penland High School,Kiboga. My ambition is to become the president of Uganda and my highest level of education is the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE), which is the academic requirement for one to contest for the presidency in Uganda. However, there is a proposal in parliament to change this requirement to a college degree. I am also currently not allowed to teach because I do not have the required professional teaching credentials. My plan is to attend and complete college.I am currently an admitted student at Roger Williams University,Bristol, Rhode Island,United States of America

I intend to run for the post of president of Uganda in 2031.This has been my ambition since 1995.I believe that Uganda needs a leader who is development focused and is not part of the Bush War heroes of 1986, irrespective of political party affiliation. In line with my ambition, my plan over the next ten years is to establish Penland High School. The school is planned to be located in Kiboga Town Council, Kiboga, Uganda. The business plan is already in place and steps for the school’s establishment are in progress. Penland High School is planned to have a capacity of six thousand students accommodated in ten residential halls, sixty classrooms, spacious compound and other additional facilities. It is intended to employ 378 teaching and non-teaching staff. Once completed, it is expected to be the first of its kind in Kiboga and the surrounding areas. Besides, it is intended to offer the best quality education in the country. Penland High School will also offer some aid to the under resourced students who come from challenging backgrounds and beneficiaries will be helped until when they have complete college. Penland High School will help students manage into the future through the acquisition of knowledge and skills. Besides, it will ensure transmission of knowledge and practices we consider to be good for the society while at the same time creating 'Think Tanks' who will be the managers of our country and the world after the completion of their studies. Education is an investment but which brings returns in the future. Penland High School will also facilitate the process of preserving knowledge through writing, record keeping, librarianship and by employment of individuals skilled in these services. The school will outlive me, the founder and it will benefit generations that I will never see. I also intend to establish Penland University to absorb the end products of Penland High School and to also contribute to the development process of Uganda by producing graduates who will create, innovate and fill the employment gaps in the country. For the effective fulfilment of my ambitious plans, I intend to accomplish my college education at Roger Williams University, RI, USA, where I have already been admitted for the major of Political Science, Class of 2026.My application for this scholarship is to enable me to attend college. The intention is to build my capacity with the view of getting ready for tasks ahead. Attending Roger Williams University would also increase my chances of being voted president. It will position as the right man for the job because I hold the right form and level of education and moreover attained from abroad. Roger Williams University awarded me a merit based International Scholarship of US$26,000 plus a Travel grant of US$1,500 making a total of US$27,500 in financial aid. However, I still have a funding gap of US$34,077 out of the total cost of education for international students of US$61,577 per annum. As a booster to my presidential ambition, I have a Presidential Marriage Insurance Project which is intended to identify and nurture my future presidential spouse, streamline the Office of the First Lady and also popularize my presidential ambition. The presidential Marriage Insurance Project is a form of Political Technology and my vision is to have a peaceful and exemplary first family. My mission is to impact the world both at home and abroad through the message and values of marriage. At the end of the day I expect a changed world that value marriage and the family and the elevated Office of the First Lady.
    Dr. Samuel Attoh Legacy Scholarship
To me legacy means my life and works. It is life because it begins from my family background and the circumstantial events leading to and at the time of my birth.Take for instance, I was born in 1977 in aboket Village,Soroti Uganda.I was born in a birth-room just as my mother was about to take a birth. However, my legacy goes beyond my birth events. It includes my bad and good times, including events and circumstances I did not create but which I interacted with. It is works because it involves my impact created or left behind after my departure from a particular place and this involves both positive and negative achievements that resulted from my day to day life styles and activities.Take for instance, I was a student right from my Primary one at Kamuda Primary School until when I completed my Secondary School studies at Kiira College Butiki. Not even poverty could alter this direction of events. I was born to Mukasa Nelson and Namusana Elizabeth. My father and mother separated when I was nine months old.I was raised my grandmother, Namyalo Agnes. My father was a disciplinarian and hard working man, and from him, I learnt how to work hard to overcome the challenges of life and that is why when life is on the edges, I can not hesitate to get a hoe and go to the garden to dig.My grandmother loved me so much and I too, loved her. She planted in me a deep love for women but which has never been returned.Perhaps this is because as a child, I never experienced the love of the mother. I am now 45, but I am not married and I have never got a choice that cares like the way my grandmother cared for me.All of them exhibit short-lived love and then disappear and sometimes reappear when already taken up.That is the kind of deep freezer I have been placed in. However, this kind of problem has also been due to poverty. When I was still young,my family got affected by political instabilities in Eastern Uganda and this made my father poor. The effects of the war are still haunting me.Women do not want to get married to poor men. At the age of 13, I joined the Clement William Kabogaoza Musoke family as a poultry worker. This was after I had escaped from my father in Kiboga.I had also dropped out of school. The late Kabogoza Musoke and his wife, Joyce later helped me to resume school and using my earnings, they enrolled me at Namunsi Primary School,Mbale,Uganda. After the completion of my primary school studies, I joined Mbale Secondary School and then Kiira College Butiki for my Ordinary and Advanced Level studies respectively.I briefly joined University but dropped out due to financial limitations.I had always supported myself at school, but when I reached university, the bill was huge. While at Mbale Secondary School, I got introduced to field of Political Science and this inspired me to take a political career path and in 1995, I started building my ambition of of becoming president of Uganda.I have been a secondary school teacher since 2003, and it is the knowledge and skills that I acquired while at school that enabled me to accomplish this task. My plan is to accomplish college education and thereafter concentrate on establishing Penland High School, Kiboga.I am an admitted student at Roger Williams University,Bristol,Rhode Island,United States of America. The University offered me financial aid of US$27,500 but I still have a balance of US$34,077 per annum to be able to attend and complete college.Attending college is part of the solution to my limitations.

My current student loan debt is small and easy to clear. However, I sometimes default on paying on time. I currently borrow from MOKASH of MTN Uganda and my monthly loan limit is UG Shs:11,000(Approximately US$3). I borrow to fund my internet café costs when applying for scholarships, admission and related activities, and this helps me to beat deadlines. I pay back my loans through my small earnings from the sale of banana leaves. I earn at least UG Shs:4,000(US$1) or less per week. My current loans have monthly payback periods, so, I am able to clear them. I sometimes get small cash grants(donations) from friends and relatives which I also use to clear any outstanding loan debt balance and to also supplement on my internet café costs. I am an admitted student at Roger Williams University, Bristol, Rhode Island, in the United States of America. I was admitted for the undergraduate major of Political Science, Class of 2026.Roger Williams University awarded me a merit based International Scholarship of US$26,000 plus a Travel Grant of US$1,500, making a total of US$27,500 in aid. However, I still have a balance of US$34,077 per annum, so, I borrow to fund my internet café costs when applying for scholarships to bridge this gap. At the time of writing, I have applied for a loan of UG Shs:140,000,000(US$37,838) from Centenary Bank, Uganda to bridge my cost of education balance at Roger Williams University and to also offset my initial travel costs and other requirements. However, the loan hasn't yet been granted, but I requested for a payback period of 120 months(10 years). I intend to raise money to pay back this loan through work, during and after the completion of my studies at Roger Williams University. I will also apply for additional grants and scholarships during the course of my studies. After enrollment and meeting all the residency requirements, I intend to apply for another loan with softer terms and conditions to refinance this loan. My plan over the next ten years and after the completion of my studies is to establish Penland High School, Kiboga, Uganda. Penland High School is a Thirty six billion shilling(US$10,000,000) project planned to be financed by a bank loan. The project is planned to be implemented in five phases, each lasting for a period of one year. Project financing will also be supplemented by revenue earned through the school's operations when it has finally taken off. The loan is planned to be secured by an agreement, assets purchased, structures erected and successive investment during the loan payback period. Other special projects are planned to raise additional revenue and profits that will finance loan repayment and/or accumulate cash reserves. The special projects planned include; 1.Penland Renaissance Hotel. 2.Penland University. 3.Primary schools 4.Small and medium secondary schools elsewhere. 5.Penland shopping Mall. 6.Workshops,Seminars and Conferences. 7.Penland High School Canteen. 8.Penland Coach(bus transport service) 9.Penland Arena(events and celebration center) 10.Acquisition of shares in companies like the New Vision, banking institutions, insurance companies etc. 11.Penland High School Guest House. 12.Agricultural enterprises and others. The detailed implementation budget of the Penland High School project includes capacity building for the proprietor worth UG Shs:200,000,000(US$54,054)per annum. When the loan is granted, this money will be used to refinance any outstanding loan and to also fund further studies at Master and PhD levels. In my virtual conversation with Mr. Bill Abbate, the International Students Coordinator at Roger Williams University, he promised that the University will offer me Entrepreneurial Development Training, upon which I will be connected to funders to make the Penland High School dream a reality.
    Dr. Meme Heineman Scholarship
Do you know the benefits of attending school out of your home country? Great! In Africa, our forefathers had a saying that ‘He who knows foreign lands is worth being known’. This saying was mainly applied by the long distance traders who used to move for long distances between the interior of Africa and the coast. Upon coming back to the interior, they were looked upon as custodians of knowledge and new information. They could become prominent in the society. Some became chiefs while others ministers or advisers to chiefs/kings.Later on after European colonization of Africa, most African chiefs/kings made it a must to visit the home countries of the colonists. It was partly the reason as to why the young king,Kabaka Daudi Chwa of Buganda, escorted by Ham Mukasa, was sent to London to acquire the white man’s knowledge. African strugglists who later became leaders of their respective countries had at one point acquired education from abroad. Mwalimu Julius Nyerere of Tanganyika attended the University of Edinburg,Jomo Kenyatta of Kenya attended the London School of Economics, Bendicto Kiwanuka, the first chief minister of Uganda attended the University of London. If you scanned the political leadership of most modern African states, you will discover that it is occupied by individuals who have acquired education from abroad .Yoweri Museveni of Uganda attended the University of Dar es –salam in Tanzania, Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya attended Amherst College in the United States of America and many more. Attending a foreign university makes the student famous. He becomes a consultant as well as a respected person with a voice that can be listened to. Foreign Universities are fertile grounds for building up relations for future International Relations and Diplomacy and political support. I am an admitted student at Roger Williams University, Bristol, Rhode Island in the United states of America.Who knows what the future holds for me? My ambition is to become the president of Uganda and I intend to put most of my focus on education by establishing more higher institutions of learning if voted into office. I ntend to also establish more schools for the disabled persons and to also train more teachers in the field of special needs education to address their needs. The schools for the disabled will have to be equipped with gargets that aid learning, mobility, visibility etc. Students will also have to be taught how to cope up with life in their state of affairs and be equipped with life skills that will give meaning to life and enable them to live happy lives.

I plan to accomplish college education from the United States and to also tap on the generous financial aid opportunities offered by universities and colleges and other organizations and individuals in the country. Accomplishment of college education would unlock my social, political and economic opportunities and change my story. I am an admitted student at Roger Williams University.I was admitted for the undergraduate major of Political Science, Class of 2026.The University offered me a merit based International Scholarship of US$26,000 plus a Travel Grant of US$1,500 making a total of US$27,500 in financial aid. However, I still need more US$34,077 per annum to be able to attend. My ambition is to become president of Uganda. Our African forefathers had a saying that 'He who knows foreign land is worth being known'.Attending college from the United States would increase my fame, popularity and prosperity and position me as a person with education that has an international mix. My current highest level of education is the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE), which is the academic requirement for one to contest for the presidency in Uganda. However, there is a proposal in parliament to change this requirement to a college degree. Attending college is therefore one way of preparing for the likely changes. I have been a secondary school teacher since 2003,but I am now not allowed to teach because I do not have the required professional credentials nor a college degree in any other field of specialization. After the accomplishment of my college degree, my job opportunities will diversify. My pay will also increase and thereby enable me to live a comfortable life and also experience an upward social, economic and political mobility. I have been teaching with low pay and sometimes no pay at all. My plan over the next ten years is to establish Penland High School,Kiboga,Uganda. Attending Roger Williams University will add value to the Penland High School investment. While in the United States, I intend to source for support and professional collaboration from donors and experts. The University is willing to offer me free entrepreneurial training in addition to my intended course of study. There is also a promise to be connected to funders. The Penland High School project is intended to impact the lives of 6000 students per annum. It is also planned to employ 378 teaching and non-teaching staff. In addition,I intend to give some aid to the under resourced students. I grew up in the Clement William Kabogoza Musoke family.I joined this family at the age of 13 in 1991 as a poultry farm worker after I had dropped out of school. However, the Late Kabogoza Musoke and his wife,Joyce, later helped me to resume school at Namunsi Primary School,Mbale. I later joined Mbale Secondary School and then Kiira College Butiki for my O and A'Level studies respectively.I briefly joined University but I dropped out due to financial limitations. My application for this scholarship is to continue with the good work and direction that the Late Clement William Kabogoza Musoke wished for me. While at Mbale Secondary School, I got introduced to the field of Political Science and this inspired me to take a political career path and in 1995 I started building my ambition of becoming president of Uganda.I have been a secondary school teacher since 2003, however, it is the knowledge and skills that I acquired in school while in foster care that enabled me to accomplish this task. Staying in a rich man's home does not make one rich.In the Kabogoza Musoke family, I have been inspired to study very had to achieve greater accomplishments.
Larry D Parker Sr.’s Legacy Scholarship
I intend to run for the post of president of Uganda in 2031.I have been building this ambition since 1995.I believe that Uganda needs a leader who is development focused and who is not part of the Bush War heroes of 1986. In line with my ambition,my plan over the next ten years is to establish Penland High School. The school is planned to be located in Kiboga Town Council, Kiboga District,Uganda. The business plan is already in place and steps for the school’s establishment are already in progress. In future when I am elected president, I intend to put more focus on education most especially by establishing more Universities ,vocational and technical colleges. For the effective fulfillment of my ambitious plans, I intend to accomplish my college education at Roger Williams University, Bristol, Rhode Island, United States of American, where I have already been admitted for the major of Political Science, Class of 2026.The intention is to build my capacity with the view of getting ready for tasks ahead.Roger Williams University awarded me a merit based International scholarship of US$26,000 plus US$1,500 Travel grant making a total of US$27,500 in aid. However, I still need more US$34,077 to be able to attend.Attending Roger Williams University will increase my popularity ,fame and prosperity in the country. Our African forefathers had a saying that 'He who knows foreign lands is worth being known'. As a booster to my presidential ambition,I have a Presidential Marriage Insurance Project which is intended to identify and nurture my future presidential spouse, streamline the Office of the First Lady and also popularize my presidential ambition. The presidential Marriage Insurance Project is a form of Political Technology. I have been able to promote this project worldwide in over 150 countries. Yes,I admire Martha Dandridge Custis Washington wife of the United States of America's first president, George Washington. She was first lady between 1789 and 1797. As already mentioned, I have a Presidential Marriage Insurance Project. I have been doing some research on presidential spouses. The life and works of Martha attracted my attention.I had always wanted a lady of her kind. In my Presidential Marriage Insurance Project, I have always wanted a lady who is a complement to my rise to power, somebody who will not only be a house wife but will work towards the attainment of my goals as well. I found my quest for this kind of person in Martha Washington. Martha Washington was a courageous woman who could even visit her husband at the frontline during the revolutionary war period. In such a difficult period, she stood with her husband. She gave him love and also worked as a hostess for his visitors. According to Wikipedia, General Lafayette observed that Martha loved George Washington madly. Martha was a rich woman. Her wealth contributed to George Washington's wealth and rise to prominence. She was generous to her husband thereby financially contributing to his causes. My presidential Marriage insurance intends to elevate the position of First Lady to a ministerial position with special funding and functions recognized by the law. This position is very important yet it is sometimes ignored. It complements the position of president by the first lady sometimes performing state duties.
    Carlos F. Garcia Muentes Scholarship
I am a grandson of Yokana Lutaya, a former Chief Clerk at Soroty county, Uganda. My paternal parents were therefore born in some sort of aristocratic family during the British colonial days. However, they did not long enjoy their aristocratic privileges because their father died when they were still young. My father,Mukasa Nelson, was one year old when this happened. A story is told about our grandfather,Yokana Lutaya. He was the son of Kyakulagira of Kasiba Gomba in Buganda. He lost his father when he was still young and moved to Namulonge to stay with his elder brother,Nkolo but later with the help of Christian Missionaries and Cotton surveyors, migrated to Teso from where he got blessed and became a chief. It was fate that made him to go to Teso, but like the biblical Joseph, son of Jacob,he defied the laws of fate.Upon reaching Teso,he first stayed in the home of a Christian priest but later moved to the palace of the chief of Teso and later became one of the chiefs in the land.Later, when he became sick and bed ridden, probably due to poisoning, he was taken to hospital for treatment by Eriya Paul Engulu who also attended his burial ceremony when he died. Eriya Paul Engulu is believed to have been the first King(Emormor) of the Cultural Institution(Kingdom) of Teso. Yokana Lutaya died in 1955 probably on 15th January. Besides having been a political/civic leader, he was a devoted and influential member of the Anglican Church.According to one of my orators,Jessica Nakiwala, daughter of Yokana Lutaya, her father could sometimes preach in the church. She also says that her mother, Namyalo Agnes, was one of the most influential women at Kamuda Church of Uganda.Later, their sons and daughters became influential members of the same church.By 1987, Simon Kabogoza, their second born son was the church treasurer. When I was still young, I also attended the same church. I stopped attending this church in 1987 when we migrated away from Soroti. We left Soroti due to the fate of political instability. It was fate because I and my siblings were still young and none of us had any responsibility for what was going on.However, this migration later turned out to be a blessing in disguise. There is a saying that 'History repeats itself' and that 'the latter reign of the Holy Spirit shall be greater than the former'.When we later left Mbale and moved to Kiboga, all the sons and daughters of Mukasa Nelson, the youngest son of Yokana Lutaya, became Born Again Christians.Kimbowa Fredrick Edwin, Kabogoza Francis Nelson and Nakachweka .J. Ruth later went for theological training at the Mbale Pentecostal Bible Training Center(later renamed Mbale Pentecostal Theological College) and became ordained priests in the Pentecostal Assemblies of God(PAG), Uganda.Kabogoza Francis Nelson is now the current Bishop of the Pentecostal Assemblies of God, Albertine Pastorate based in Hoima, Uganda. However,I am a Seventh Day Adventist Christian though I still attend church on sunday. Like my grandfather,in 1991 I left Kiboga and went back to Mbale from where I got blessed with a good education.I stayed in the home of the Late Clement William Kabogoza Musoke from where I got the opportunity to attend some of the best secondary schools in Uganda.I am now an admitted student at Roger Williams University,Bristol,Rhode Island,United States of America. This world is made up of many negative forces. As a family we have gone through many challenges and we are still struggling to succeed, but like the biblical Joseph, God has always turned our negative situations into opportunities. My ambition is to become the president of Uganda.Who knows what the future holds for me?
    Small Seed Big Flower Scholarship
My plan is to attend and complete college.I am currently an admitted student at Roger Williams University,Bristol, Rhode Island,United States of America.
    Hasanovic American Dream Scholarship
My version of the American Dream is quite different but similar to the general view of the Americans. This is because I am a Ugandan, but with intentions to move to the United States of America to pursue further studies at Roger Williams University, Bristol, Rhode Island. I am from an under resourced background and I have been struggling to make great accomplishments in the field of education for now over thirty years. I was successful at my primary and secondary school levels of education but my attempts to accomplish college education have been futile. It is now twenty three years ever since I completed my secondary school education but there is no college degree yet. I have made two unsuccessful attempts at Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda and at Ramjas College,University of Delhi,India but in both cases,I dropped out due to financial limitations. My dream is to accomplish college education from the United States and to also tap on the generous financial aid opportunities offered by universities and colleges and other organizations and individuals in the country. Accomplishment of college education would unlock my social, political and economic opportunities and change my story. I am an admitted student at Roger Williams University. I was admitted for the undergraduate major of Political Science, Class of 2026.The University offered me a merit based International Scholarship of US$26,000 plus a Travel Grant of US$1,500 making a total of US$27,500 in financial aid. However, I still need more US$34,077 per annum to be able to attend and complete my college studies. My ambition is to become president of Uganda. College education is therefore very important and if attained from abroad, more value would be added to it. Our African forefathers had a saying that 'He who knows foreign land is worth being known'. Attending college form the United States would increase my fame, popularity and prosperity and position me as a person with the right level and form of education that has an international mix. My current virtual meetings with Roger Williams University have already produced some positive results. The University is willing to offer me free entrepreneurial training in addition to my intended course of study. There is also a promise to be connected to funders after the accomplishment of the training offer. The Penland High School project is intended to impact the lives of 6000 students per annum. It is also planned to employ 378 teaching and non-teaching staff. In addition,I intend to give some aid to the under resourced students.
    Students for Animal Advocacy Scholarship
There are a lot of things we share in common with animals. The biological classification of living things places humans in the Animal Kingdom and they are classified as homo sapiens. However, humans were created and given qualities that are a little higher than those of other animals, thus placing man in a superior position. The human brain can accomplish tasks that other animals can not. However, this superiority of humans was given for a purpose.According to the bible(Genesis:2:15), when God created man, He gave him the responsibility of taking care of His creation, of which animals are part. Therefore, man as ruler over God's creation has a responsibility towards animals. This responsibility includes ensuring that animals are protected from extinction. In the biblical story of the floods, God did not only spare the life of Noah and his family, a pair of each animal species, was selected and put in the ark. This was done under God's instruction. This act enabled animals to exist beyond the flood era. As already mentioned earlier, Animals are part of God's creation. We share the earthly inheritance with them. Humans never determined this, but the Creator did. We live in the same environment and they are our neighbors. They are our relatives in the order of creation. The God who created humans, is the same God who created animals. In the world today, it is agreed that the red blood is a sign of brotherhood for all the races, but animals too, have red blood. According to the Old Testament biblical theology, the blood of the animals can atone for the sins of humans. This implies that animals have something very important that can save the life of humans to live beyond mortal life. Animals are therefore some sort of saviors for the human race. The blood of the animals has a quality that can wash away sins to restore the relationship between man and God. However, the blood can not accomplish this role without the animal losing it's life. What loses life to save the other is indeed very important. The New Testament theology of salvation is imputed against the Old Testament sacrificial animals. Jesus Christ, the savior of the world is referred to as 'the lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world'. His death on the cross was a replacement for the Old Testament sacrificial animals. Animals are our friends and helpers. Dogs guard our homes and protect us from wrong people. They give us company and they are our playmates. They also excite us as they wag their tails and lick our bodies. We get milk from cattle and their bulls can help us to plough the ground for crop growing. Horses and Camels can be used for transport and sports. Animals need us , but we also them for survival. They simplify our work and make life comfortable. Biblical theology of rest does not exclude animals. When God gave the children of Israel the ten commandments, He admonished them to observe the seventh day Sabbath, their domestic animals inclusive(Exodus:20:10). Animals are major foreign exchange earners. They attract tourist visitors into the country and the cash earned is used to construct both social and economic infrastructure thus contributing to progress and modernity. Animal tourism is an experience of higher life. Individuals board planes to visit animal sanctuaries in other countries and while there, they experience quality services in hotels, lodges, restaurants etc. They also meet new people and acquire new knowledge in addition to being refreshed. Animals can help us live a new experience, perhaps once in a life time.
    Bold Nature Matters Scholarship
Nature is God's creation of which man is part.Mankind in his form is nature. He became what he is because God wanted him to be like that. However, God did not only create mankind, He created other things as well: mountains, lakes, vegetative cover, animals in their kinds, skies and planets, air, light and darkness, to mention but a few. Although God created nature in different forms, each of these forms supports the other in many different ways.Vegetative cover supports man with oxygen and in exchange man supports it with carbon-dioxide.Water bodies supply us with water for drinking, transport, sport and fishing. Evaporated water condenses in the skies to form clouds which supply the earth and other planets with rain water which supports farming to produce food for human survival. Nature has been proved to be an avenue through which comfort and relaxation can be obtained.A tree shade provides comfortable shelter for rest when temperatures are high. Forests, animals and birds in game parks, mountains and lakes etc provide us with wonderful avenues for leisure and exploration to discover the wonders of God's creative abilities. Man can not live without the support of nature.Nature is our immediate neighbor whom we turn to in times of crises. We share the environment with nature and that is how God wanted it to be. When I think of nature, I wonder about it's minute details and get excited to search for more information.I share my opinions with students, friends and relatives.I enjoy teaching the details of nature and my favorite topic is space science.Talking about the mysteries of space such as the planets and their satellites, galaxies and the dark hole is exciting.I rarely write to express my opinions, however, my application for this scholarship has given me an opportunity.I sometimes take time to enjoy nature's wonderful usefulness.

    Bold Generosity Matters Scholarship
Generosity is act of stewardship. It means sharing what you have with others: whether material goods, money, knowledge or service. Each one of us has a responsibility towards those around us. As a student, I have always provided exemplary leadership service to fellow students. This has given me the opportunity to demonstrate leadership skills gained from the classroom while at the same time serving fellow students and the schools nurturing me. My services have helped many students realize their academic potentials and dreams through the creation of conducive environment for their purpose in school. However, this has always been done at a cost: I have always had to sacrifice my time and effort for studies to provide a service. I have been a secondary school teacher since 2003.I started teaching at Kiboga Light College as a volunteer teacher. I have taught as a volunteer as well as a paid teacher. My work has always been to transform my students into productive citizens ready to serve the country in various capacities and professions. I have been a private school entrepreneur and even though none of my schools is still in existence, many school dropouts have always resumed school in them on partial or full financial aid and many of them have always progressed to college even after my schools have stopped operations. A good example is Musoke Jonathan whom I admitted at Buziga High School in 2014.He had dropped out of school after the completion of his primary school studies. He is now a University student at Africa Renewal University, Buloba in Uganda.I shared the little that I had but it has produced great results. I am a Christian. I sometimes return Tithe and offerings. I also spare some time for the Lord and I spend my Saturdays in church.
    Curtis Holloway Memorial Scholarship
I started going to school at Aminit Primary School,Soroti District in Uganda. It was my father, Mukasa Nelson who enrolled me there. It is therefore right to argue that it was my father who introduced me to the world of education and whoever supported me at later stage simply added onto the foundation that had already been created. In 1984, my father transferred me to Kamuda Primary School where I was until when war between the Uganda People's Defense Army(UPDA) rebels and the National Resistance Army(NRA) broke out in 1987.The war made my father poor.I remember when we migrated from Soroti in 1988, I received some financial support from Mr Dumba when I enrolled at Kolonyi Primary School.Dumba was a relative by then working with Salem Hospital as a Project Manager. Dad could also contribute some money but it wasn't enough and when he failed to make any contribution the following year, I started working to pay for my school fees. I worked in a village restaurants and as a brick layer. I also worked as a porter at construction sites and in people's gardens. By the time Dad took us to Kiboga in 1990, I was working in village restaurant owned by a lady called Base. In Kiboga, I burnt charcoal to pay for my school fees at Muyenje Primary School. However, a year later, I went back to Mbale and dropped out of school but my grandmother connected me to the Late Clement William Kabogoza Musoke for a job in the poultry farm. This became a turning point in my educational journey. My earnings were saved and later used to enroll me at Namunsi Primary School and when I did my Primary Leaving Examinations(PLE) in 1993, I emerged the best student in Nakaloke sub-county and I was awarded a bursary which partly financed me at Mbale Secondary School(1994-1997).My school fees deficits were always financed by my earnings from the poultry farm. After the completion of my studies at Mbale Secondary School, the Late Paul Kabogoza Musoke (son of Clement Kabogoza Musoke) enrolled me at Kiira College Butiki and shared responsibility for my school fees with his sister, Harriet Kabogoza Musoke. I joined Kiira College Butiki in April 1998 and left in December 1999 after the completion of my A'Level studies and briefly joined Makerere University in 2000.At Makerere, I was paying for myself using earnings from a short contract job that I had got at the Ministry of Public Service, Uganda.I had been helped to get this job by Ms.Winnie Agnes Kabogoza Musoke, daughter of the Late Clement William Kabogoza Musoke. However, after a short while, I opted for a Full-ride scholarship to study at Delhi University,India. The scholarship was being managed by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations(ICCR) but with Top Up allowances from the Government of Uganda. My air ticket to India was funded by the State House of Uganda. However, while in India, I experienced delays in the disbursement of my scholarship funds and this caused difficulties for me and like many other students before and after me, I came back to Uganda and failed to go back.I have since not joined any other college. However, I am currently an admitted student at Roger Williams University where I was awarded financial aid of US$27,500, but I still need more US$34,077 per year to be able to attend. Conclusively therefore, in reaching my educational goals,it has been a combination of efforts from different parties: parents, relatives, friends, government, teachers, fellow students and myself. However, the longest journey was supported by the Late Clement William Kabogoza Musoke through my job in the poultry farm. The struggle continues.
    Alexis Potts Passion Project Scholarship
I have a passion for politics and my ambition is to become president of Uganda. Because of my passion, I am inspired to accomplish greater achievements . I am lucky that I was introduced to the study of political science at an early age of 16. I offered Political Education at Mbale Secondary School and it was the knowledge and skills that I gained from the classroom that helped me to accomplish my secondary school leadership achievements. I had the option of dropping Political Education but because I realized it's importance in pushing forward my political ambition, I elected and offered it until when I completed my Ordinary Secondary School level. From 1995, whatever that I have always done has had a focus on building a firm foundation for my future ambition. At Mbale Secondary School, I was the founder and Chairman of the Ten Number Program and the Mbale secondary School Human Rights Club. I was also Troop Leader for Scouts and Chairman Wildlife Club. Above all, I contested and was voted Assistant Headboy of the school in 1997.Later in 1998,I joined Kiira College Butiki where I became the Deputy Headprefect and founded the Uganda Student Administrators' Association(USAA). When I briefly joined Makerere University in 2000,I was an active member of the Movement Forum. My passion for politics has helped me to create a footprint and I have been able to create a legacy for future generations in Uganda to refer to. Through politics, I have been able to create lifetime friends such as Aggrey Steven Osinde, Kato Matanda, Waswa Masokoyi and many more. I have also got involved in political mobilization campaigns in which I have had the opportunity of interacting with political heavy weights such as the late James Wapakhabulo,Hon. Amama Mbabazi( Former Prime Minister of Uganda,Moses Byaruhanga(Prsidential Assistant) etc. While at Makerere University, I met, shook hands and interacted with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. Because a president must have a first lady, I was inspired to set up a Presidential Marriage Insurance Project. I started this project in 1995.The main aim of the project is to identify and nurture my future presidential spouse and to also build a firm foundation for my presidential ambition. My vision is to have an exemplary first family. Although I am not yet married, I have written a book on the project. This book has circulated all over the world in over 150 countries through internet email communication. My ambition has therefore made me to be known both in Uganda and abroad. However, my journey to the presidency has not only been smooth. My struggle to attain higher education has been interrupted. I have made two unsuccessful attempts at Makerere University and Delhi University in India but in both cases I have dropped out due to financial limitations. At the time of writing this essay, my original academic documents have mysteriously disappeared. The reason is because I am preparing to report to Roger Williams University where I have been admitted for the undergraduate major of Political Science. My sources of income have also been interrupted and I am finding it hard to survive. I am living under very hard conditions. I don't own any property, not even a one roomed house. I am a secondary school teacher, but I had to stop teaching due to low pay and non payment of wages. My private school business ventures have been crippled. My attempts to marry have also been futile and I am facing a bio-chemical food problem which I see as a gradual process of assassinating me.
    Jimmy Cardenas Community Leader Scholarship
It has been my desire to study from the United States of America since the 1990s. I was inspired after reading two small books containing American History. One book was about the American Civil Rights Movement and the other was about Thomas Jefferson. These two books made me to like America and I have since cherished to be in the United States of America. When I did further research about the country, I learnt about it's education system and the generous financial aid policies of most colleges. This further increased my desire for the United States. Early in the 2000s, I attended a public lecture at Makerere University that was presented by Martin Brenan, the then US Ambassador to Uganda but I never got the Information that I wanted and it pained me. I went to India in 2001 and while there I visited the American Embassy, the American Library and the American Education Foundation. There, I got the information that I wanted but I didn't have the financial resources to do what was required. In 2002 when I came back to Uganda, I visited the American Embassy and I was later in 2003 invited for an Education session which was facilitated by Madam Corny Mutazindwa.I got the information that I wanted and I immediately started applying for admission in US colleges. I applied to many colleges but because of financial limitations, I couldn't be admitted. I could always fail to submit the required documentation. TOEFL and SAT requirements also limited me from being admitted. I never had money to sit for these tests and to process and submit the required application materials. For 12 years, I was applying but with no success. My first admission success occurred in 2016 when I was admitted by Johnson and Wales University's Providence campus and the second one in 2019 by Roger Williams University .I am now an admitted student preparing to attend college in the United States. I have always provided exemplary leadership service to fellow students. I have served as a leader from Primary One until when I completed secondary school. At primary school level, I started as a Class monitor at Kamuda Primary School in Soroti and completed as Headboy at Namunsi Primary School in Mbale. At Mbale Secondary School, I started as Class Councilor and completed as Assistant Headboy.I also founded the Mbale Secondary School Human Rights Club.At Kiira College Butiki,I was the Deputy Headprefect(1998/1999).I also founded the Uganda Student Administrators' Association. My services helped many students realize their academic potentials and dreams through the creation of conducive environment for their purpose in school. In 2001 I contested to become Youth Member of Parliament but I didn't go through.I have also previously mobilized for Presidential candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. I have been a secondary school teacher since 2003.I started teaching at Kiboga Light College as a volunteer teacher.I have taught as a volunteer as well as a paid teacher. My plan over the next ten years is to establish Penland High school,Kiboga. My ambition is to become president of Uganda and I have a Presidential Marriage Insurance Project in which I am seeking to marry and nurture my future presidential spouse.
    Bold Future of Education Scholarship
A reform in the lending policies to the education sector will not only increase the number of enrollments but will encourage investment in better facilities and infrastructure as well. How then can this be done? Government and lenders should formulate liberal policies that focus on students, parents and educational institutions/ Sole investors as borrowers in need of cash to fund their causes. Parent and student loans should have low interest rates with flexible or longer payback periods. Such loans should be insured and security or guarantees(co-signers) shouldn't be a requirement for the loan to be advanced. However, other checks and measures to ensure recovery and correct or right use of the loan cash can be promulgated. In other words, I am advocating for a Universal Loan Program that can benefit whoever wants to borrow for study purposes. This kind of program will reduce the number of school dropouts while at the same time ensuring that schools receive the required revenues to fund their service provisions. Loans to investors in the education sector for the purpose of setting up infrastructure and purchase of equipment and land should not require security or guarantees (co-signers).They should be secured by agreements, loan insurance and business plans or proposals. Schools outlive their owners and they appreciate as enrollments increase and more infrastructure is set up. Flexible loan policies for investment in the sector will increase the number of educational institutions and therefore bring services nearer to the beneficiaries while at the same time ensuring provision of quality educational services. Many schools are failing to live up to the required standards because of limited financial resources to invest in infrastructure such as Teachers' quarters, dormitories, classrooms, libraries, laboratories, toilets etc. They can not also contract professional contractors to provide them with specialized building services.

The wisest thing I have ever heard is the saying that ‘He who knows foreign lands is worth being known’. This saying was mainly applied by the long distance traders who used to move for long distances between the interior of Africa and the coast. Upon coming back to the interior, they were looked upon as custodians of knowledge and new information. They could become prominent in the society. Some became chiefs while others ministers or advisers to chiefs/kings. Later on after European colonization of Africa, most African chiefs/kings made it a must to visit the home countries of the colonists. It was partly the reason as to why the young king, Kabaka Daudi Chwa of Buganda was sent to London to acquire the white man’s knowledge. If you scanned the political leadership of most modern African states, you will discover that it is occupied by individuals who have acquired education from abroad .Yoweri Museveni of Uganda attended the University of Dar es –salam in Tanzania,Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya attended Amherst College in the United States of America and many more. Attending a foreign university makes the student famous. He becomes a consultant as well as a respected person with a voice that can be listened to. Foreign Universities are fertile grounds for building up relations for future International Relations and Diplomacy and political support. I am an admitted student at Roger Williams University, Bristol, Rhode Island in the United states of America. Who knows what the future holds for me?
    Bold Science Matters Scholarship
My favorite scientific discovery is about space discoveries. At first I thought that the universe had only one planet, the earth but science now tells us that there are many planets than we can imagine. The latest information now talks about exotic planets and super earth kinds of planets that can support life. I am a Christian and I had always read the bible .All that I knew was that there was only one world , the Earth and the rest were stars. However, scientific discovery now tells me that even the Earth is a star and that it is part of the star system of Galaxy Milky Way. The bible talks about one moon but scientific discovery now talks about moons. While the earth has only one moon that was known to the biblical writers, Uranus has 27,Jupiter 79,Neptune 14,Saturn 82 and Mars 2. Scientific discovery also tells us that there are many more galaxies besides the earth. Andromeda the nearest to earth has one trillion stars. However, the total number of discovered galaxies is 100 billion but the number is likely to increase when telescope technology and space exploration is improved. Some of the other known galaxies include; Antennae, Backward, Black eye, Bode, Butter fly, Cartwheel, Cigar and many more. Though these discoveries have been made, it is believed there isn't yet any possibility of humans moving from one galaxy to another. Andromeda is 2.5 million light years away from the earth. It is also not known whether life exist on these other galaxies. As scientific research increases, I am eagerly waiting for that day when it will be announced that the heavenly planet where Jesus, the heavenly hosts and God dwell has been discovered. This is my hope that God will one day inspire humans in that direction.

It has been my desire to study from the United States of America since the 1990s. I was inspired after reading two small books containing American History. One book was about the American Civil Rights Movement and the other was about Thomas Jefferson. I am an admitted student at Roger Williams University, Bristol, Rhode Island in the United States of America. If I got $1,000 right now, I would use it to clear my enrollment and housing reservation fee of US$550. I would then pay SEVIS fee of US$350. I am an International student from Uganda and I need a visa to aid my entry into the United States of America, I would add US$60 onto the remaining US$100 to pay for my visa application costs. I can also use the whole US$1,000 to purchase my air ticket to the United States of America. At Roger Williams University, I was admitted for the undergraduate major of Political Science, Class of 2026.I was awarded an International scholarship of US$26,000 plus a Travel grant of US$1,500 making a total of US$27,500 in aid. However, I still need more US$34,077 per annum to be able to attend and complete college. I am an under resourced student in great need of help. The $1,000 can therefore be used to reduce my bill at the University. There is an English saying that 'One by one makes a bundle'. If got this $1,000 and added it onto what is already available, I don't remain in the position I was in before. The US$1,000 can also be used to finance book supplies and personal expenses or to buy items I am required to travel with to college but which are not billed. Such items can include; clothes, shoes, tooth paste, etc

The person that I admire in history is Martha Dandridge Custis Washington wife of the United States of America's first president, George Washington. Her husband having been the first president, she automatically became the pioneer first lady of the United States of America. She was first lady between 1789 and 1797. My ambition is to become president of Uganda and I have a Presidential Marriage Insurance Project in which I am seeking to identify, marry and nurture a lady who will be my future presidential spouse. I have been doing some research on presidential spouses. The life and works of Martha attracted my attention. I had always wanted a lady of her kind. Most women normally want to take finished products but Martha wasn't of that kind. In my Presidential Marriage Insurance Project, I have always wanted a lady who is a complement to my rise to power. Somebody who will not only be a house wife but will work towards the attainment of my goals as well. She brought with her all the wealth she acquired in her first marriage and added it onto that of George. She was generous to her husband thereby financially contributing to his causes. I want a wife who will contribute to my rise to power, a Martha kind of lady.
    "Forbidden Foods" Scholarship
I have on very many occasions been negatively affected by food to the extent that I came up with a term to define it. The scholarship is about forbidden foods but I call them Bio-chemical foods. This is because my problem wasn't/isn't allergy. These bio-chemical foods are poisonous because they destabilize the body's metabolic system leading to illness, body weakness, mental dullness etc. According to my research, these foods contain poisonous herbs or chemicals which cause vomiting, headache, diarrhea, cough, flu, Skin rashes, bad smell, difficulty in breathing, swelling of the stomach, fall in ones mental capabilities etc At the fore of promoting these foods are the traditional herbalists, sellers and manufacturers of food supplements, the women at home and evil men and women in places of worship and at public functions. I have heard several Church announcements on radio warning members who attended a particular event to go for medical treatment because the food that was served contained poison. Promoters of these foods use destructive philosophy. Their aim is sometimes to discourage or derive fun and amusement. These foods are also a weapon for gradual assassination. Medical equipment can sometimes fail to detect herbal poison when eaten and absorbed by the body. Feeding people on such dangerous food items is therefore an act of human rights abuse and disrespect for human dignity. I am in total disagreement with anybody who promotes or makes another to eat the bio-chemical foods. In 2004, I almost slept in the toilet due to these kinds of foods and in 2006, I almost went to the grave. I had diarrhea to the extent of discharging blood. I have on very many occasions developed flu, cough, headache, body weakness, forgetfulness etc after eating these kinds of foods. Promoters of these foods exploit their victims' ignorance when executing their missions. These kinds of foods have created bad blood between me and family members most especially those who are always in the kitchen. I want to marry and I love women but I fear them because of the bio-chemical food problem. In my case they have been at forefront of promoting this negative food practice. My ambition is to become the President of Uganda and I have a Presidential Marriage Insurance Project but I am not married partly because of the bio-chemical food problem. The enemy has always used these foods to scare me away from a potential catch or to separate me with one that is already in my hands. Because of these foods, my ambition has been negatively impacted and I am finding it difficult to marry. My business ventures have also been partly crippled because those who promote the bio-chemical foods would find it difficult to execute their missions on me when I financially loaded. If offered this scholarship, it will help me to attend and complete college. After the completion of college, my sources of income will diversify and this will release me from the traps of the evil ones. I am an admitted student at Roger Williams University, Bristol, Rhode Island in the United States of America. I was admitted for the undergraduate major of Political Science, Class of 2026 with a merit based International scholarship of US$26,000 plus a Travel grant of US$1,500, making a total of US$27,500 in aid. However I still need more US$34,077 per annum. Attending college from the United States would add value to my ambition and position me as a man of intellect with the right form and level of education and as a person who can be consulted on matters of sound consideration.
    Bold Gratitude Scholarship
The last twenty three years have been the worst in my life: I joined college and dropped out, I have been working with little or no pay at all,my private school entrepreneur-ships have not worked, the biochemical food problem has been making life uncomfortable and attempts to marry have also been futile. However,I thank God that life has been like that.If I had not dropped out of college, I wouldn't have become a teacher. As a teacher,I have taught over 3000 secondary school students, giving meaning to their lives by preparing them for higher education and building their capacities to be useful citizens. I have contributed to Nation Building in a more meaningful way.I have been exposed to the challenges of life that students and parents face and I have learnt how to serve other people in a better way. My failed school entrepreneur-ships have been my training grounds and the greatest achievements to my operating a successful and prosperous school in future.Without these challenges, I wouldn't have known the challenges of life in business. These school entrepreneur-ships have also given me the opportunity to also offer aid to those who deserve to be helped.I have given aid to many school dropouts, many of whom have progressed up to college. The bio-chemical food problem has taught me that God is charge. He protects the innocent and spares their lives from danger, otherwise, I would be by now dead. When I sit down and think about my current situation, I thank God that I am not married. How would I have taken care of my family without a house and an income source.Where would we be sleeping and what would we be eating? Would my children be at school ? God's ways are mysterious! We can never know what His plans for us are.
    William M. DeSantis Sr. Scholarship
When I dropped out of college,I thought that life had ended. I never thought that I would ever make any lasting impact .However, when joined teaching without professional training, I was proved wrong. For the last nineteen years,I have been teaching in private secondary schools, most of which had financial limitations. I have sometimes worked but without pay. I have taught in schools such as Kiboga Royal College,Savior High School,Kiboga Light College,Makindye Trinity Secondary School etc. However, my teaching career has been a blessing in disguise. As teacher, I have earned more knowledge and experience in the classroom. I have been a student first before teaching others. A school is laboratory of knowledge. As a teacher, I have always got involved in research, teaching and administration. I have interacted with students, teachers and parents from diverse backgrounds. This has taught me a lot. Over time,I have earned more knowledge, experience and skills and this has increased my competence in the working environment.I can now satisfy the needs of my students and parents as well. My experience as a teacher enabled me to write the Penland High School Business Plan. I have also been inspired to accomplish greater things such as setting up Penland High School and Penland University. My plan over the next ten years is to establish Penland High School and because I now know that a challenge in one area may not limit one in another, I have the courage and determination to move forward. I intend to implement the Penland High School Project in phases, step by step. As a teacher, I have learnt by experience, therefore, by experience, the Penland High School project will succeed. The project is intended to impact the lives of six thousand students per annum. I now have a following, friends and people who believe in me. I have made friends from students, parents, teachers and high profile officials such as Mr Jimmy Kyagulanyi(District Education officer, Kiboga), Mr Augustine Buliro(District Inspector of Schools,Kiboga) and Mr Kibwami Noah( former Secretary for Education, Kiboga District),Mr Sulaiman Sekiwunga(former mayor, Kiboga Town Council) etc.My ambition is to become the president of Uganda. The friendships created can in future translate into a political base for support when I finally contest for the presidency. I have come to discover that in teaching, one does not only work to earn pay. My potentials have been exposed. I have had a chance to offer a service to my fellow countrymen and world citizens. I have taught over 3000 students, some of whom are now high profile government officials serving as politicians, policemen, teachers etc. Some are church pastors. The current Chairman Local Council 3 of Kibiga Sub-couty in Kiboga is my former student. My experience as a teacher has positioned me as an educationist and a person of intellect who can be consulted. I have gained respect among students and parents. As a teacher, I now have an identity. People now address me by titles: some people call me 'Master' while others, 'Professor'. I am no longer a failure but an achiever.I have contributed to nation building. Over 3000 students have been taught and more will be taught in the future. I now have a story to tell.A meaning to life and existence!. An achievement to talk about. My ambition is to become the President of Uganda. My experience and interaction with students, parents and other stakeholders has given me knowledge about the challenges of the common man in Uganda. My presidency will therefore concentrate on reducing or managing the these challenges. When elected president, I intend to put more focus on education.

The biggest problem facing the world right now is the war between Russian and Ukraine. The war in Ukraine has led to suffering and death of many innocent Ukrainians. Property has been destroyed and the economy rewinded. Many Ukrainians have fled away fro their country, causing a refugee crisis in the neighboring countries such as Poland, Hungary etc and the world over. The International community now has not only the responsibility of finding shelter for them, but to look for resources to fund their survival as well. The spread over effects of the war are all over the world. As a measure of containing the war in Ukraine, the International Community has imposed an embargo on Russian goods such as oil and Gas and many more.Multi-national companies operating in Russia are also withdrawing. However, this has caused scarcity ,leading to a rise in prices thereby not only leading to inflation but mass suffering as well. The war is also threatening to expand to other countries and this has caused military readiness for war in the whole world. However, this readiness is a threat to world peace. The war in Ukraine could therefore be the nucleus for the Third World War or another Arms Race between Russia and Western countries such as USA,Britain,France etc. Russia should not be allowed to hold or control any Ukrainian territory. If allowed, the thirst for more will not end.The International Community should therefore intervene, go on the defensive in Eastern Ukraine but on the offensive in the South.Russia should be chased away from Crimea and all the areas where she has got success.A trespasser can not be right in someone's house.Russia's complete defeat will not only teach her a lesson, but will save the world from an international war disaster as well. Now is the time to act.

My admission at Roger Williams University had expired and the Admissions Counselor, Mr. Bill Abbate had advised that I reapply. So, I requested Deborah Asiimwe, my girlfriend, to be one of my recommenders. She accepted and gave me her details which I used to generate for her an invitation to recommend me through the Common Application platform. She was by then working with Philo Internet Café in Kiboga Town. However, a few days later, she stopped working and when I enquired, her boss told me that she was at their home. This happened in August 2020. One morning, in the month of September, I walked into their home in Kiwanguzi L.C.1 Zone, near the Church of God premises and I was welcomed by her mother,Pastor Florence Balamaba. She was very happy to see me. I had interacted with her before and she knew that her daughter, was my friend, so, she told her that I was outside waiting for her. On seeing me, Deborah panicked but I was steady. I explained to Deborah the reason for my visit. However, it started raining as we were still conversing and she feared to take me inside but an old man in the compound came, carried my seat and told me to enter. That day, I had breakfast with Deborah and her family in their sitting Room. During that breakfast, I told them about my academic mission to Roger Williams University and a few months later, at Deborah's request, I told her mum that I had intentions of marrying her daughter and to travel with her to Roger Williams University as well. She didn't object to my suggestion, but Deborah later let me down. When I want something, I go for it and I don't fear to tell anybody that I want it.
    Bold Financial Freedom Scholarship
The most helpful piece of financial advice I have ever received is that of using the principle of 'Scale of Preference' in making spending decisions. Scale preference refers to arranging ones requirements or needs according to their order of importance .It works according to the notion that resources are limited and yet individuals have unlimited lists of wants. According to the principle of Scale of Preference, the limited resources have to first be allocated to satisfy the most important requirements or needs. This is because unlimited wants can not be satisfied by limited resources, all at the same time. Resources are just not enough. This principle has helped me to apply for this scholarship.I have little money which can not be used to satisfy all my needs. I therefore arranged them according to their order of importance to me and because education is the most important at this time and yet I don't have cash to fund it, allocating the little money that I have to apply for scholarships sounds a wise idea than using the same amount of money to buy a soda or chips and chicken. Every time that I apply for a scholarship, I spend between Shs:1000 and Shs:2000. At this time, I spend all the money that I have in the Internet Café applying for scholarships with a view of generating funding for college. I need a new shoe, but I lose nothing if I didn't buy one. I am an admitted student at Roger Williams University,Bristol, Rhode Island in the United States of America. I was admitted for the undergraduate major of Political Science, Class of 2026, with a merit based international scholarship of US$26,000 plus a travel grant of US$1,500, making a total of US$27,500 in aid. Bold Caring for Seniors Scholarship
I haven't been very active in this area but in 2016, I took care of an elderly Stroke patient who by then never had domestic assistants. Her sister was abroad and he had a few years before separated with his wife, a career diplomat who was by then working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and had been deployed in Congo. Uncle Jimmy as we commonly call him, was a family friend to Harriett Kabogoza Musoke in who's home I was staying.I took care of uncle Jimmy by helping to bathe him, serve him food, escort him to toilet and to also move him around. I could also escort him to the Physiotherapist. He could send me on errands to buy for him medicines and food supplies.I also washed his clothes. Uncle Jimmy surely needed help. As a stroke patient, there wasn't any difference between him and a baby. He couldn't do anything by himself. He could not walk and one of his arms had got paralyzed. I talked to pastors who came and prayed for him.Pastor Robert Kyeyune and Pastor Walugembe of the seventh Day Adventist Church visited and prayed for him.He also sent me to Pastor Kiwewesi Isaac of Kansanga Miracle Center who later came and prayed for him.I later learnt that the pastor was his relative. I didn't have money to support uncle Jimmy but I gave what I could and this came at a cost.I was preparing to start a school in Kiboga before this happened and because I was busy working on Uncle Jimmy, I failed to report to the ground in time to mobilize for students. By the time I reported, it was only three weeks to the starting of the new academic year and I fished out only two students but I wanted more.
    Cariloop’s Caregiver Scholarship
When I was still young, I did chores at home.At least my parents depended on me for some of these services. They could also send me to buy things from shops.Caregiving brought into conatct with the Vice-President of Uganda, the Late Dr. Samson Kisseka.I always served him water to wash his hands whenever he visited our home.I was by then staying at Mr.C.W.Kabogoza Musoke's home whose wife, Joyce, was the Vice President's daughter. At Clement William Kabogoza Musoke's home,I was an employee in the poultry farm but I also did domestic chores as well. It was my work in the poultry farm that enabled me to resume school when I dropped out. I could always wake up very early in the morning at 5:00AM to fetch water and to give food to the birds before leaving for school. That is how I managed to complete my primary and secondary school studies. During my Senior Four(S4) vacation(1997), I took care of a child whose dad was a University student and the mum a teacher at Namilyango College. This resulted into my being admitted at Kiira College Butiki, one of the best performing secondary schools of the time in Uganda. The dad of the child was Paul Kabogoza Musoke, son of Clement William Kabogoza Musoke of Mbale and the mum was Annette Mukoda, then a teacher at Namilyango College. During my Senior Six vacation, I stayed at home doing domestic chores: cooking, mopping, washing dishes and clothes etc.I was by this time at Kanyanaya staying with Harriett Kabogoza Musoke wife of Leonard Senabugo. Harriett is a daughter of Clement William Kabogoza Musoke. As a student,I was a student leader all throughout my primary and secondary school levels of education, giving care to my fellow students by creating conducive environment for the purpose for which they were in school. I was also a student rights activist. In 2001, I joined Delhi University ,India but a year later dropped out due to financial limitations and in 2003, I started teaching .I first taught as a volunteer at Kiboga Light College and Kiboga Royal College but was later put on payroll.I was by this time staying with mum and my elder brother,Pastor Kimbowa Fredrick who later got married and left me with mum.Since I was working and earning some money, I became the main bread winner but my wages were low. Later in 2005, I left Kiboga and briefly taught at Alliance High School in Nansana, then worked at Master Promotions Limited(2006) and later at Rhaina High School,Seeta, then went back to Mbale in November 2006.My instability at all the work places were due to poor pay. In 2007, I started Namunsi High School,Mbale and in 2014,I started Buziga High School School in Kampala .In 2017 I started Penland High School,Kiboga. All the schools closed due to financial limitations and negative external environmental factors. In these schools, I offered aid to school drop outs, some of whom later progressed up to college. In 2020,I had a small garden of Cassava which I had prepared to sell but when the COVID-19 Lock-down was imposed, I surrendered it to the family and we were able to survive on it until when the situation was eased. As you can already see, because of my caregiving, I haven't been able to meet my financial targets. However, I have been able to give the aid that I could afford to give. One could look at me as a failure, but my failed school entrepreneurships are my greatest achievements to operating a successful and prosperous school in future. My plan over the next ten years, is to establish Penlan High School,Kiboga.

My name is Kiganda Nathan. I was born in 1977 to Mukasa Nelson and Namusana Elizabeth (Betty) who by then were residents of Aboket , Kamuda sub-county , Soroti district, Uganda. When I was still young, I was commonly known as Kiyita, a name that comes from a Luganda proverb, ‘Ekiyita Wagulu otega wansi, empungu terya bire’ meaning ‘that which flies from above is trapped from the ground, a hawk (or eagle) does not eat clouds'. I was raised by my grandmother, Namyalo Agnes. This was because my father and mother separated when I was still young. My grandmother told me that this happened when I was nine months old. I started going to school in 1983 at Aminit Primary School in Soroti.A year later, my father transferred me to Kamuda Primary School and I was made to repeat Primary one(P1).I left the school in 1987 due to political instabilities. Later,in 1990 dad came and took me to Kiboga where I burnt charcoal to finance my educational costs at Muyenje Primary School. In 1991, I escaped from my father and went back to Mbale.I later got a job at Mr.C.W.Kabaoggoza Musoke's home as an employee in the poultry farm. I have been a teacher since 2003 and I have taught both as a volunteer and paid teacher .I have also previously operated private schools in which I helped many school dropouts to resume school, some of whom have progressed up to college. My schools no longer exist, though. My plan over the next ten years is to establish Penland High School. My Penland High School business plan gives more hope than before.Aid for the under resourced students will be more and beneficiaries will be helped until when they have completed college.
    Bold Hobbies Scholarship
One of my favorite hobbies is attending Church where I listen to sermons and church music. I also sing and dance as part of the congregation and by the end of the day I feel renewed. I am an Adventist Christian, I therefore spend my Saturdays attending church at Kiboga SDA Central Church. When I am in Kampala, I spend my Sabbaths at Bunga SDA Central Church(BUSDACC).Biblical scriptures (Leviticus:23:2-3,Exodus:20:8-11) admonish us to observe the Sabbath and to keep it holy. During Sabbaths, we study the bible, sing or listen to hymns, listen to sermons, get involved in debates and fun. We also eat and converse and share ideas and experience. The seventh day Sabbath is for the Lord but for the good of man. Although,I am an Adventist, I also attend church on Sunday at Kiboga Pentecostal Church(PAG-Central) and Kansanga Miracle Center when I am in Kampala.I hold liberal Christian views. I enjoy listening to Music and my favorite tracks are 'Someday' by Michael Learns to Rock, 'Entebbe Wala' by the Late Philly Bongole Lutaya, Yesu Osobola by Judith Babirye and many more.Music gives me hope amidst failure. It also inspires me to do greater things in life.It renews and soothes my mind when I fill lonely. I enjoy politics, perhaps because my ambition is to become president of Uganda. However, politics is more than that. Even those those without ambitions get involved in politics. I enjoy attending political gatherings and debates. In Kiboga, I normally attend our Kiwanguzi Local Council 1 Village meetings as well as conferences, seminars and workshops held in the Kiboga Town Council Hall and elsewhere.I also watch Cable News Network to be updated about what is going on around the world. I also like visiting and moving out with friends and converse over a soda or meal.
    Bold Creativity Scholarship
As a student in all the schools that I have gone through,I have sat for many exams and assignments which require creating answers involving new ideas and perceptions, drawing pictures and maps, giving illustrations etc.I have also written this essay by myself and I have written many more before and many more will be written in the future. When I was a student at Mbale secondary School(1994-1997),I founded the Ten Number Program to simplify Mathematics which was by then the most failed subject in the school. The trick was simple: discussing or solving ten numbers in Mathematics everyday. In 1997,when we sat for the Uganda Certificate of Education(UCE) examinations, all the best students in Mathematics in the School were members of the Ten Number Program.I was also the founder of the Mbale Secondary School Human Rights Club which was the first of it's kind among secondary schools in the whole country(Uganda). When I was at Kiira College Butiki, I founded the former Uganda Student Administrators' Association(USAA) to unite student leaders in the country. I have been a teacher since 2003.As part of my work,I set exams and make marking guides. I also make notes, sometimes with limited reference books.Teaching itself requires a lot of creativity. My plan over the next ten years is to establish Penland High School and I am the author of the school's business plan.I have also previously started two schools; Namunsi High School and Buziga High School but which failed due to limited financial resources. My ambition is to become the president of Uganda and I have a Presidential Marriage Insurance Project which I started in 1995.Through this project,I hope to identify and nurture my future presidential spouse.I have written a book about this project. I have also authored my autobiography but which is not yet published.

When I was still young, war broke out in Eastern Uganda and our area of residence became a frontline. This was because rebels had camped in the area. This happened in 1987. We were by then staying in Aboket,Kamuda sub-county, Soroti ,Uganda. The war made my family poor.My father, Mukasa Nelson, had been a well known village tycoon. We later migrated to Mbale then to Kiboga but life had now become hard.In Kiboga, we survived through subsistence agriculture and charcoal burning.Later in 1991, I went back to Mbale and dropped out of school but I was helped by the late Clement William Kabogoza Musoke and his wife Joyce who offered me a job in a poultry farm and later used my earnings to take me back to school.I worked in the poultry farm until when I completed my secondary school studies. I am now struggling to attend college but when I reflect on the past, I am inspired to be a steward to those in need.If I wasn't helped, I wouldn't be where I am now. Most of my friends and relatives never completed primary school . I have been a teacher since 2003 and I have taught both as a volunteer and paid teacher and my intention has always been to transform my students into productive citizens ready to take care of themselves and also serve the country in various capacities and professions. I have previously operated private schools in which I helped many school dropouts to resume school, some of whom have progressed up to college. My schools no longer exist, though. My plan over the next ten years is to establish Penland High School. My Penland High School business plan gives more hope than before.Aid for the under resourced students will be more and beneficiaries will be helped until when they have completed college.
    Karl Baehr Entrepreneurs Scholarship
I started getting involved in private school business in 2007. I had always had ambitions of operating a private school but I didn’t have the financial resources. So, I started by consulting friends until when I got meaningful advice that got me started. It was Mr. Guloba Seperia, a family friend and then Manager of Nkwatirako Savings and Credit Society that advised me to negotiate with a landlord who had empty premises. Mr. Joseph Katende had empty buildings that had been abandoned by a school that had shifted. I negotiated with him and he offered me the premises at a fee but which was to be paid after the school had fully taken off. I then informed the Nakaloke sub-county local authorities and the Mbale District Education Department about my intentions and they gave me a go ahead. The school that had earlier occupied the premises had left behind its furniture when it shifted. The Landlord gave me permission to use it. Prior to the starting of the school, I moved around churches and people’s homes promoting the school. I also produced a brochure which I distributed. The brochure was financed by Mr. Okurut Michael, a friend and in-law. Mrs. Joyce Kaboggoza Musoke supported me with SHS:20,000, Daudi Kimbowa with SHS:20,000, Bob Namukali SHS:5,000. I used this money to buy chalk, and other scholastic materials. I recruited teachers and on 5th February 2007 Namunsi High school started and by the end of Term One, ten students had enrolled. One student was on full financial. The school was inspected and the District Inspector of schools recommended that I apply for the operational license. Later in Term Two the proprietor of the former school abruptly came for his furniture. This created confusion and I lost 15 students. The number of students had increased to 16. I replaced the furniture but the students never came back. Later in 2008, I closed the school and left for Kampala. I 2014 I started another school in empty premises of a school that had closed four years back. I negotiated with the Landlord, Mr. Lamech Mukeeze who allowed me to operate in his premises at no pay until when the school had taken off. On 10th March 2014, Buziga High School started and by the end of Term One,16 students had enrolled. However, only 8 of them completed the year. The following year (2015), 5 more students enrolled and the year ended without having lost any. However, I had to close the school at the end of 2015 due to land wrangles between Mr. Lamech Mukeeze and his family. In 2017, with financial support of SHS:200,000 from Ms. Harriette Kaboggoza Musoke, I started Penland High School. Mum also later supported me with SHS:200,000. However, I later closed the school due to poor turn up and started reorganizing for a relaunch. I have since then written an expanded business plan, done marketing and boundary spanning. I have also applied for a loan of SHS:36.000.000.000 from Stanbic Bank and Centenary Bank but has not yet been granted due to lack of security. I now have experience in Private school business. However, I have learnt that financial resources are key to the success of a school. Success is also not gained on a silver platter; it involves hard work and challenges. However, what is exciting is seeing something one has started growing from nothing to something and I look towards this type of experience once again.Though I never earned any profit in the first attempt, some of my students have become successful. Some school dropouts I offered aid progressed up to College.

My name is Kiganda Nathan. I was born in 1977 to Mukasa Nelson and Namusana Elizabeth (Betty) who by then were residents of Aboket Village, Kamuda subcounty in Soroti district, Uganda. When I was still young, I was commonly known as Kiyita, a name that comes from a Luganda proverb, ‘Ekiyita Wagulu otega wansi, empungu terya bire’ meaning that, ‘that which flies from above is trapped from the ground, a hawk (or eagle) does not eat clouds. I was raised by my grandmother, Namyalo Agnes. This was because my father and mother separated when I was nine months old. I started going to school in 1983 at Aminit Primary School but a year later transferred to Kamuda Primary School and made to repeat Primary one(P1).I left the school in 1987 due to political instabilities. I witnessed the music of fire exchange between the UPDA rebels and the National Resistance Army (NRA). Sometimes it could be Sura Mbaya (Helicopter Gunship) bombing crowded areas indiscriminately. We were also facing the problem of the Karimojong Cattle rustlers who were ruthless and could shoot anybody who could dare cross along their way I am lucky that not even a single bullet kissed any part of my body. One day, I was captured by a Karimojong cattle rustler but released along the way. He found us at The Aboket borehole near the Cattle Dip. The war made my father poor and when we later transferred from Soroti town to Mbale,he could not pay for my school fees at Kolonyi Primary School. At a tender age, I started working to raise money to help myself. I worked in a restaurant and also for the late Ibrahim Ndaula, as a brick maker. I could sometimes work in people’s gardens and at construction sites as a porter. Later,in 1990 dad came and took me to Kiboga where I burnt charcoal and earned money to finance my educational costs at Muyenje Primary School. In 1991, I escaped from dad and went back to Mbale.I later got a job at Mr.C.W.Kabaoggoza Musoke home as an employee in the poultry farm. This was my turning point. The following year,I enrolled at Namunsi Primary School with my earnings from the poultry farm clearing my school dues. I attended my upper secondary school(Advanced Level) at Kiira College Butiki in Jinja Uganda where I was a Deputy Headprefect as well as President Uganda Student Administrators' Association(USAA). University education has been a challenge to me after making two unsuccessful attempts at Makerere University in Uganda and Delhi University in India. In both cases, I dropped out due to financial limitations. I plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and there after enroll for a master’s degree and if possible, a PhD as well. I have presidential ambition.I am an admitted student at Roger Williams University,Bristol,Rhode Island,United States of America.I was admitted for the undergraduate major of Political Science,Class of 2026.I was offered a merit based International Scholarship of US$26,000 plus a Travel grant of US$1,500 making a total of US$27,500 in aid. However, I still need more US$34,077 to be able to attend. College education is very important for me and if earned from abroad more value will be added to my ambition. Our African forefathers had a saying that 'He who knows foreign lands is worth being known'.It will make me to be known and famous and position me as a person with an intellectual capacity needed to solve the challenges of the country. While abroad, I will make friends needed for future diplomatic relations and support. My plan over the next ten years is to establish Penland High School,Kiboga, a project that will help to fight illiteracy while at the same time create future leaders and entrepreneurs. The Penland High School project is planned to impact the lives of 6000 students and their families per annum. Through the Corporate Social Responsibility and Philanthropy programs, community risks will be reduced while at same time extending help to children from under resourced families through scholarships and other financial aid options.School's business plan embraces Vocational and Talent development for students as well as a professional development program for the teaching and non teaching staff. Penland High School is planned to employ 208 Teaching staff and 178 Non-teaching staff. The school will also absorb students who have completed primary school level while at same creating market for agricultural goods from farmers. The trickledown effect of the school's establishment will be great.

As a student , I was a student leader all throughout my primary and secondary school levels of education and this gave me the opportunity to demonstrate leadership skills gained from the classroom while at same time serving my fellow students and the very schools that were nurturing me.In primary, I started as a Class Monitor at Kamuda Primary School in Soroti and completed as Headboy at Namunsi Primary School,Mbale. When I joined Mbale Secondary School, I started as a Class councilor and completed as Assistant Headboy. Bold Relaxation Scholarship
Like most folks in Uganda, I mainly relax by having a conversation with friends and relatives. Our home is Christian, we therefore spend most of our time discussing the bible, the church and what is going on around the world. Our conversations are sometimes live and full of amusements and laughter that refresh the mind. I also eat by taking breakfast, lunch and supper. Some of our conversations are held during or after eating time. I sometimes visit or move out with friends and enjoy a conversation over a soda or meal. Previously, I used to visit my girlfriend, Deborah Asiimwe, but when she got taken up somewhere else I now feel lonely. After hard and tiresome work, I take a bath then rest or take a nap. When I am in Kiboga,I go to bed early(8:00 PM) to have enough sleep during the night. This refreshes my mind beyond measure. When I am in Bunga, Kampala, Uganda, I watch television and my favorite TV station is Cable News Network(CNN).I also take some time reading or writing or on the internet so that the brains do not remain redundant. I have written and submitted this essay during such time. On weekends, I attend church.I am an Adventist Christian, I therefore spend the whole Saturdays attending Sabbath at Kiboga SDA Central Church. When I am in Kampala,I spend them at Bunga SDA Central Church. Biblical scriptures(Leviticus:23:2-3,Exodus:20:8-11) admonish us to observe the Sabbath and keep it holy.During Sabbaths, we study the bible, sing or listen to hymns, get involved in debates and fun.We also eat and converse. The Sabbath is for the lord but for the good of man. Although I am Adventist, I also attend church on Sunday at Kiboga Pentecostal Church(PAG-Central) and at Kansanga Miracle Center when I am in Kampala.

    Bold Wisdom Scholarship
Do you know the benefits of attending school out of your home country? Great! In Africa, our forefathers had a saying that ‘He who knows foreign lands is worth being known’. This saying was mainly applied by the long distance traders who used to move for long distances between the interior of Africa and the coast. Upon coming back to the interior, they were looked upon as custodians of knowledge and new information. They could become prominent in the society. Some became chiefs while others ministers or advisers to chiefs/kings. Later on after European colonization of Africa, most African chiefs/kings made it a must to visit the home countries of the colonists. It was partly the reason as to why the young king,Kabaka Daudi Chwa of Buganda was sent to London to acquire the white man’s knowledge. He becomes a consultant as well as a respected person with a voice that can be listened to.Foreign Universities are fertile grounds for building up relations for future International Relations and Diplomacy and political support. I am an admitted student at Roger Williams University,Bristol,Rhode Island in the United states of America.Who knows what the future holds for me?
    Bold Loving Others Scholarship
When I was still young, I stayed with my grandmother. Our family was big and during eating time, I could not allow any of my siblings to sit next to her. I followed my grandmother wherever she went and if she didn't want me to go with her, I could cry. Today, demonstrate love in many different ways. I always remain simple to other people. A simple conversation with them, makes the sun to rise in their lives. I also visit friend and relatives. I give guidance and counseling to those who are challenged and I suggest solutions to their problems. I sometimes give or donate when I have. When a friend invites me for a party, meeting or wedding ceremony, I attend. I always tell the truth and I avoid telling lies as much as I can. I am single and searching. When I spot Miss Right, I tell her about my thoughts and feelings. I don't keep her in doubt and suspense. I also make a proposal to marry her. I have always and I still have leadership ambitions. In all my primary and secondary school days ,I was a student leader. I was the summary of my fellow students. Their burden was my burden and I strived to create a conducive environment for the purpose for which they were in school. My ambition is to become the president of Uganda and I have a Presidential Marriage Insurance Project. When I feel that my choice of marriage is the perfect one, I incorporate her into the project. I have been a secondary school teacher since 2003 . My plan is to establish Penland High School which is proposed to impact the lives of 6000 students per annum. I also intend to offer aid to under resourced students.
    Bold Confidence Matters Scholarship
To me, confidence means the state of affairs without doubt, fear and worry in my day to day accomplishments. This becomes true when I am in possession of the knowledge, information and resources needed to satisfy my superiors, myself and other people. When I am confident, I influence or say something and it happens. I am also wanted or loved because I can fulfil the aspirations of those I interact with. My struggle to be confident has been my long held and daily aspiration in life. I have been and I am still struggling to make successful accomplishments in my education. My dream is to attain the best form of education. The intention is to build my capacity to work with competence. I am fuelled to succeed because it has always been my dream to create change. I dream to leave this world a better place than I found it. I am not happy with what is going on around the world: wars, moral degeneration, bad leadership, human rights abuse, poverty etc. The situation needs a leader who is focussed on development and who has the right and best form of education appropriate to address it. This explains my urge for the accomplishment of college education. The intention is to build my capacity with the view of getting ready for tasks ahead. My ambition is to become the president of Uganda. My humble background and current situation and the state of the poor in my country inspire me to succeed. When I was still young I lived in a war zone, a situation that made my family poor and has impacted my life for now over 35 years. I am not happy that I am poor and I am not happy that there are many poor people around me. I have to work hard to improve my situation as well as for others who need help. I have been a teacher partly fulfilling my desire.I have taught over 3000 students since 2003 and hope to continue through my private school investment plan. I have also helped many school dropouts resume school, some of whom have progressed up to college. My plan over the next ten years is to establish Penland High School which gives more hope than before. The project plan embraces vocational and talent development for the students. Besides, aid for the under resourced students will be more than before and beneficiaries will be helped until when they have completed college. However, the project has not yet taken off due to financial limitations.

    Bold Great Books Scholarship
My current favorite book is 'The Star comes out within' by Jean Little. The book inspires me because it is about disabled children who cope up with their situations and later become of help to their teacher who also has a disability. Jean Little the author of the book grew up in a similar situation but was able to triumph over her limitations and later became a school teacher and author, inspiring and mentoring young people with challenges similar to the ones she faced when she was still young. The book highlights the fact that if disabled people are taught how to adapt to their limitations, they too, can live comfortable and happy lives up to the end. The setting of the book in a school points out the fact that they too deserve to be accorded basic services similar to those accorded to the general community. During my study of the book, I discovered that even though I was not crippled like the characters highlighted, I too had a disability. I discovered that even though I was under resourced, I could still attend and complete college. All that I needed was the right information about how that could be done. And when I did some research, I discovered that BOLD.ORG was the solution . With BOLD.ORG, I could also win my way to the top and become a bronze hero like Drem. However, this could only be true if got the right assistance. If I attended and completed college, I could also make greater accomplishments in life. My dream of becoming president of Uganda could come to pass. Who knows? The book does not only give me hope for a brighter tomorrow, but it also inspires me to focus on the forgotten corners of the world.

    Bold Happiness Scholarship
What makes me happy, does not and that is perhaps the truth for all of us. When I was still young at the age of 12,I was a charcoal burner. This happened in 1990.I was by then at Kamugabo Village in Kiboga, Uganda.Kiboga was by then part of Mubende District.Kamugabo was by then a jungle full of trees and wild animals.Charcoal burning was the main economic pride of the area.Amidst the economic scarcity created by the 1981-1986 Museveni's bush war in the country, charcoal cash could at least create a smile on ones face. However, my experience of charcoal burning wasn't a simple one.It involved cutting huge trees.I could sometimes take three days to have one down. The axe or panga could sometimes slide and instead create cuts and injuries on my body. The pain created tears in my eyes.I had also to endure pain from blisters for several days. The process involved pruning the branches and cutting the stems into small pieces which I could then transfer to a central place where I could heap and burn them into charcoal. My feet was sometimes pierced by thorns in the process. The process took several days and sometimes of sleepless nights. When the charcoal was ready, I could unmask the heap by removing the soil that I had used to cover it.This soil was always hot and some charcoal had live heat. This could cause painful burns on my body.I cooled the hot charcoal by fresh soil or water. The Charcoal buyers could take several days to come, but when they came, a smile could dawn on my face.I would afterwards use my earnings to pay school fees and to buy anything that could bring comfort to life. My life experience to happiness has always been through hardship and pain. What makes me happy, does not.
    Bold Study Strategies Scholarship
When I was still a student at Mbale Secondary school, I founded an academic club called the Ten Number Program. The aim of the club was to simplify mathematics. Mathematics was by then one of the most feared and failed subjects at the school. The Ten Number Program was a Mathematics discussion group. I started small but I soon had a very big following across the whole Ordinary secondary section of the school. Our discussion trick was simple: we could discuss or solve ten mathematical questions on a daily basis. We could always do this late in the evening after classes and over the weekends. The trick worked. Soon, many students began to like the subject. We even demanded for the introduction of another Mathematics paper called Additional Mathematics and it was introduced. We studied Additional Mathematics for one year instead of four.We passed this paper though with poor grades.I was one of the pioneer students of Additional Mathematics at Mbale Secondary School. Opito Midadi and a girl called Judith were the other pioneers I still remember. The best students of Mathematics in the school in the 1997 Uganda Certificate of Education(UCE) were from the Ten Number Program. I myself scored credit 3(C3) and was one of them. The club did not end with our lot.It continued even after we had left.Other students such as Bob Namukali,Robert Wamboga etc whom we left behind kept the banner high. However, I don't know whether the club still exists. The Ten Number Program did not only help me pass Mathematics but i gained friends, associates and supporters. When i contested for the post of Assistant Headboy of the school in 1997,i was overwhelmingly voted.Members of the Ten Number Program campaigned for me.I also became a friend of the subject teacher,Mr Davies Khatuwa until now .

    Heather Benefield Memorial Scholarship
I loved my grandmother,Namyalo Agnes and she too, loved me.When she died in 1997,i felt like the whole world had disappeared.I was by this time at Mbale Secondary School,Mbale,Uganda. My grandmother had always been on my side in every situation. Her death meant loss of support. She raised me right from childhood when i was nine months old. This was after mum and dad had separated. As a child i didn't know when this happened because i began understanding what was happening in the world when i was under my grandmother's care. Grandma was loving. She used to refer to me as her husband. She fed me well and as child you could not seperate me from her.She was also good at story telling. We used to enjoy her night stories. One day she told us a story about a dog that stole it's master's food and when the master wanted to punish it by handing it a hoe to dig,it ran away from home. The master chased it while requesting other people to catch it.The dog could stop and sing for the people, saying 'where have you ever seen a person handing over a hoe to a dog and command it to dig....'The people could then tell the dog to continue with it's run until when it disappeared from the master. Grandma always wanted the best for me.When i dropped out of school, she got for me a job to work in a poultry farm. This job later became my turning point.Through the job, i was able to go back to school and i was now in my final class of the Uganda Ordinary Secondary School system(S4). Her death meant loss of moral and material support.Indeed, i continued with my studies for two more years without difficulty but when the guardian she handed me to also died in 2000, financial challenges to accomplish my educational goals crept in. This has helped to shape my approach to a number of issues. Firstly,I now know who was behind me and this has shaped my determination to succeed. If I don't work hard to succeed, no one else will do it for me.The one who could, is no longer available. My grandma wanted the best for me and so, i have to work hard to fulfil her dream. However,i have learnt that for one to succeed,he needs someone to stand besides him.My grandma was one for me.

I was raised by my grandmother, Namyalo Agnes. This was because my father and mother separated when I was still young. My grandmother told me that this happened when I was nine months old. I started going to school in 1983 at Aminit Primary School and later transferred to Kamuda Primary School. I left the school in 1987 due to political instabilities. War broke out 1987. The rebels of the Uganda People’s Defence Army (UPDA) took over my school and turned it into a rebel training camp. I am a survivor. I witnessed the music of fire exchange between the UPDA rebels and the National Resistance Army (NRA). Sometimes it could be Sura Mbaya (Helicopter Gunship) bombing crowded areas. The Karimojong Cattle rustlers was another problem One day, I was captured by a Karimojong cattle rustler but released along the way. We later migrated to Mbale. The war made us poor and at a tender age, I started working to raise money to help myself. Later,in 1990 dad took me to Kiboga where I burnt charcoal to finance my educational costs. In 1991, I escaped from my father and went back to Mbale.I later got a job at Mr.C.W.Kabaoggoza Musoke’s poultry farm. This was my turning point. The following year,I enrolled at Namunsi Primary School with my earnings clearing my school dues.I later progressed to and completed secondary school in 1999. However, college has proved to be a challenge to me. Right now, life is on the edges. The future is uncertain and I am in great need of help. However,if my plan to accomplish college education is boosted with enough funding, the situation will normalize.

I am a Christian and an occasional conversation about God,salvation and righteousness has always yielded positive results.I have sometimes served in the Sabath School and on the Pulpit Team of my local Seventh Day Adventist Churches of Kiboga Central Church and Bunga SDA Central Church.I have also previously, served as an usher during the Get Real Conferences at Kansanga Miracle Center in Kampala,Uganda.

My name is Kiganda Nathan. I was born in 1977 to Mukasa Nelson and Namusana Elizabeth (Betty) who by then were residents of Aboket Village, Kamuda subcounty in Soroti district, Uganda. I started going to school in 1983 at Aminit Primary School in Soroti and a year later, transferred to Kamuda Primary School which I left in 1987 due to political instabilities. War broke out 1987 and the rebels of the Uganda People’s Defence Army (UPDA) took over my school and turned it into a rebel training camp. I am a survivor. I witnessed the music of fire exchange between the UPDA rebels and the National Resistance Army (NRA). Sometimes it could be Sura Mbaya (Helicopter Gunship) bombing crowded areas. We were also facing the problem of the Karimojong Cattle rustlers. I am lucky that not even a single bullet kissed any part of my body. One day, I was captured by a Karimojong cattle rustler but released along the way. He found us at The Aboket borehole. The war made my father poor and at a tender age, I started working to raise money to help myself. I worked in a restaurant and also for the late Ibrahim Ndaula, as a brick maker.I could sometimes work in people’s gardens and at construction sites as a porter. Later,in 1990 dad took us to Kiboga where I burnt charcoal and earned money to finance my educational costs at Muyenje Primary School. In 1991, I escaped from my father and went back to Mbale.I later got a job at Mr.C.W.Kabaoggoza Musoke's home as an employee in the poultry farm. This was my turning point. The following year,I enrolled at Namunsi Primary School and later progressed to secondary school and I am now struggling to get cash to accomplish college education.

The trickle-down jobs are expected to be more.As a result, many more businesses will be created. I also have presidential ambitions. If elected my focus will mainly be on education and development.
    Bold Make Your Mark Scholarship
I hope to leave a positive impact on the world. In 2003 after dropping out of college,i embarked on a teaching career without professional training. At college i was being trained to become an economist but my financial circumstances could not allow that to happen. I could be working in Bank of Uganda or perhaps the World Bank.Who knows? My teaching career has helped me to rediscover myself and i have come to discover that i can still make a lasting impact on the world. My dropping out of college wasn't the end of my journey. I have since 2003, taught over 3000 students. My vision is to establish Penland High School, a project that is planned to impact the lives of over 6000 students and their families per annum. This will help to fight illiteracy while at the same time creating future leaders and entrepreneurs. It will also promote modernity. The Penland High School project will contribute to the growth and expansion of Kiboga Town while at the same time creating market for goods and services. Bold Helping Others Scholarship
I believe that the best way to help any body is to empower him/her so that he/she may take control of his own situation. This could be in form of financial empowerment to start a business, buy land, construct a house, pay for school fees and many other ways. My favorite way of helping others is to pay for ones school fees to build his capacity to be a useful citizen as well as being able to take control of himself. I have lived in an environment where many of my age mates come from under resourced families. I remember when i was at Kiira College Butiki, Rwabu Davis my classmate had previously lost his dad. His financial situation had worsened. However, his father had been a teacher at the school,so, the school took over the responsibility of paying for his school dues.Later on Rwabu got admitted at Makerere University and did well in his studies. He specialised in Communication skills and to day he is a lecturer at Makerere University with two master degrees. He is doing well and at the same time shaping the brains of the young men of the country who perhaps would be the leaders of tomorrow.Who knows? Imagine the opposite situation if Rwabu had not got any help to further his education. Where would he be and how would he be looking like? I believe that he would be sharing the fate of orphaned children like me. I therefore believe that the best way to help any person is to build his capacity to be able to take care of his destiny. And believe that this can be done by offering individuals in need the required form of education that can mold them into able citizens.
    Bold Community Activist Scholarship
When I was a student at Mbale Secondary School, I got involved in human rights activism. I founded the Mbale Secondary School Human Rights Club, a platform that we as students used to advocate for respect for the rights of fellow students. One time,Opito Midadi, a student at Mbale Secondary School got arrested by police. With additional aid from the Uganda Human Rights Activists, we advocated for his release. And he was released. While a student at Kiira College Butiki , I founded the Uganda Student Administrators Association, a platform that I used to advocate for the democratization of student leadership. Most schools in the country were appointing prefects instead of being elected by fellow students. I also organized a number of conferences in which leadership skills and human rights education was passed on to student leaders. I am a politician and I have always campaigned for Presidential candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. In the 1996 presidential campaigns I mobilized in Elgon Zone and in 2001 I worked under the Institutions Desk Task-force. In 2001 I contested to represent the youth of Eastern Uganda in parliament but I didn't go through. My ambition is to become the president of Uganda and i have a Presidential Marriage Insurance Project in which I am advocating for an enhanced position of the first lady in the country. I am a teacher and my work is to transform my students into productive citizens ready to serve the country in various capacities and professions. My future plan is to establish Penland High School,Kiboga. Aid to under resourced students will be prioritized. Beneficiaries will be financed until when they have completed college. In 2019, together with Opito Midadi, we helped to prepare Primary Seven candidates in Kiboga District for their Primary Leaving Examinations.
    Bold Mentor Scholarship
As a teacher, the work that i have been doing is to inspire and mentor my students into successful citizens. As a teacher of economics, commerce, geography etc, i have given my students foundations for their future career paths and areas of specialization. My work is to mentor them into useful citizens ready to serve the nation in various capacities and professions. All i want is for them to be productive citizens. I am not not jealous of their success. Their success is my pride and success as well.No wonder many of them still consult me. Among those that i have taught and mentored,I have teachers, politicians, policemen, entrepreneurs, economists, lecturers,Information Technology specialists, pastors and many more. The current Chairman Local Council 3 /Mayor Kiboga Town Council is my former student at Kiboga Light College.Others from the same school include;Senteza Kajubi (Chairman Local Council 3 of Kibiga Sub-county) and Kato Lamech (a teacher and treasurer of Kiboga SDA Central Church as well) Others whom i have taught in other schools include; Pastor Mpiima Frank and Pastor Steven Karugaba.I taught these at Hope Senior Secondary School. I have been a school entrepreneur and i have mentored both students and teachers. Many young men and women have launched their teaching careers in my schools besides earning some small income for survival. Even though none of these schools is currently in existence, many school dropouts have always resumed in them on full or partial financial aid and many of them have always progressed up to to college. My current Penland High School business plan gives more hope than before. It has a professional development program for teachers and the non-teaching staff. It also embraces vocational and talent development for students.Besides, aid for the under resourced students will be more than before, and beneficiaries will be financed until when they have completed college.
    Bold Climate Changemakers Scholarship
The world is becoming older and worn out due man's activities. As the vegetative cover is being depleted due to farming, lumbering, construction activities etc, global warming is on the rise. At first man did not know that there was a relationship between the earth's green cover and climate.Indeed many individuals even in the modern world are still ignorant about it.This to a certain extent explains the increasing level of environmental degradation most especially in rural areas of Africa. As a concerned citizen of the world,it is my duty to protect the environment with methods that have positive effects on climate.I have done this previously as a student when i was a member of the wildlife club at Mbale Secondary School. I have also been doing it as teacher in the various schools i have taught in.I have sometimes taught geography and as geography teacher, passing on knowledge about environmental protection is a daily activity. However, at home,i decided to take a unique approach.Due to the increasing population in the world, land is becoming scarce for both human settlement and agriculture. Therefore instead of planting trees that are easily cut for timber, charcoal and construction, i decided to plant fruit trees such as mangoes, overcadoes etc. Fruit trees have a positive impact on nutrition, home finance and climate as well. The fruits harvested can be eaten at home and they are very helpful during the dry season. And besides contributing to rain formation, they also provide sheds during the dry season when the heat is too much. Fruits can be sold to generate sustainable income. This therefore controls the temptation to cut down trees to earn short term cash benefits. In my Penland High School Business Plan, i advocated for the use of gas as a source of energy in the kitchen in the longrun to reduce the use of firewood.

University education has been a challenge to me after making two unsuccessful attempts at Makerere University in Uganda and Delhi University in India. In both cases, I dropped out due to financial limitations. WCEJ Thornton Foundation Low-Income Scholarship
It is very difficult to know ones greatest achievement. However, it is normal to assume that one among the many achievements made is the greatest Sometimes the weakest achievement could be the greatest.Jesus christ praised the poor widow who who dropped into the offering box two little coins worth a penny as one who gave more than the others(Mark:12:41-44) yet rich men dropped in a lot of money. Achievements that we sometimes despise are the greatest. For a young man looking for love, winning a girl's heart could be the most valued thing in his life. However, could you tell that to his parents who are busy working to raise money for his school fees? Obviously, to his parent, this is the most insignificant achievement. I believe that ones greatest achievement is one that takes most of his time, resources and concentration in life . And I also believe that an achievement can be a success or a failure. Not all failures are actually failures. Some failures are achievements in disguise. A presidential aspirant who fails to win the race remains a Very Important Person(VIP) which he wasn't before the presidential race. He also attains the title of being the 'Opposition leader'. And, his first failure could be his greatest achievement to win the next presidential race. I have made many achievements in my life. As a student at primary school level, i was a student leader all throughout. Starting as Class Monitor from Primary One(P1) to Primary Four(P4), I became Entertainment Prefect in Primary Five(P5), then Compound Prefect in Primary Six and finally Headboy in Primary Seven. When i joined Mbale Secondary School in 1994, i was elected class councilor in Senior One(S1),maintained the same post in Senior Two (1995),became secretary for the Everest Scouts Troop and Chairman Mbale Secondary School Human Rights Club in Senior Three (1996) and finally Assistant Headboy,Troop Leader Everest Scouts Troop and chairman of various clubs in 1997 I later left Mbale Secondary School and joined Kiira College Butiki in Jinja Uganda for my Advanced Secondary school studies. At Kiira College Butiki, I was Deputy Headprefect and member of the Students' court and many other students' clubs. It was while at Kiira College Butiki also that i mobilized student leaders in other schools and we formed the Uganda Student Administrators' Association(USAA).I was elected the first president of the organization and led it from 1998 to 2001.The organization later collapsed but i had achieved my goals. Besides excelling as a student leader at both my primary and secondary school levels, i also excelled in my academics. At Namunsi Primary School, i was always among the top two students in my class and in the 1993 Primary Leaving Examinations(PLE) administered by the Uganda National Examinations Board(UNEB), I emerged the best student in Nakaloke Sub-county. At Mbale Secondary School, I was always among the top three students in my class and i almost earned myself a nick name of 'Number One'. I was the second best student of the school in the 1997 Uganda Certificate of Education(UCE) examinations administered by the Uganda National Examinations Board. At Kiira College Butiki, i was always among the top twenty students in my class.I was among the top five students of the school in the 1999 Mock Examinations administered by Jinja Joint Examinations Board(JJEB) with 20 points and scores of A and B in Economics and Literature in English respectively. After the completion of my secondary school education, I briefly joined Makerere University(Uganda) and later Delhi University in India. However, in both cases, i dropped out due to financial limitations. At Makerere University, i was a member of the Movement Forum while at Delhi University i was a member of the Uganda Students Association(USA). When i dropped out of University,i embarked on a teaching career and i have since then taught over 3000 students. I started teaching in April 2003 at Kiboga Light College in Kiboga,Uganda. I later embarked on private school entrepreneurship, starting with Namunsi High School in Mbale, then Buziga High School in Kampala to the current on ongoing school project of Penland High School which has not yet taken off.None of the schools that i started is in operation. This seems to be my greatest failure. However, it is my greatest achievement.I have earned experience, prestige and respect as a school entrepreneur.I have always started these schools from nothing to something and moreover amidst financial challenges. My current private school entrepreneurship failures are my greatest achievement to successful school entrepreneurship in future.I am just being perfected.
    I Am Third Scholarship
My goal in education is to acquire knowledge and skills for professional development, investment, fulfillment of my future presidential ambition and consequently as a solution to the problem of being under-resourced. The acquisition of college education will increase my potential to perform tasks. It will improve on my creativity and consequently managerial abilities thereby leading to diversified opportunities in the labour market, business and self-employment. The jobs that I hope to do after college will attract higher wages.I hope to become a university lecturer, foreign service officer or president of Uganda. My plan is to use my education to invest in education.I hope to invest in both secondary and tertiary education . Above all, it will create an endless market for farm products and scholastic materials while at same time absorbing the end products of it’s feeder schools. The school is expected to employ 378 workers: 208 teaching staff and 170 non-teaching staff over a period of ten years. The trickle-down jobs are expected to be more. As a result of the Penland High School establishment, many more businesses will be created. The project is also expected to pay SHS:19.303.594.463 to government as profit tax over a period of 11 years My future ambition is to become the president of Uganda and though I already have the educational requirements for the job, college education would be of much importance and if acquired from abroad, more value would be added to it. In Africa we have saying that ‘ He who knows foreign lands, is worth being known’. I also hope to use my college education as security against constitutional changes that might occur relating to the educational requirements of the president of Uganda. The current policy requires the president to at least possess a minimum of the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or it’s equivalence. I possess the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education. However, I do not have college education qualifications. This puts me at a great risk should there be a constitutional amendment. I have therefore applied for this scholarship to enable me acquire college education and to also open my opportunities ahead of time. The acquisition of this scholarship would be one step toward the realization of my dreams. It is therefore my prayer that as you make your final decision on who to award the scholarship, that you stretch your hand of mercy towards me.

    Cat Zingano Overcoming Loss Scholarship
I loved my grandmother,Namyalo Agnes and she too, loved me.When she died in 1997,i felt like the whole world had disappeared.I was by this time at Mbale Secondary School,Mbale,Uganda. My grandmother had always been on my side in every situation. Her death meant loss of support. She raised me right from childhood when i was nine months old. This was after mum and dad had separated. Grandma always wanted the best for me.When i dropped out of school, she got for me a job to work in a poultry farm. This job later became my turning point.Through the job, i was able to go back to school and i was now in my final class of the Uganda Ordinary Secondary School system(S4). Her death meant loss of moral and material support.Indeed, i continued with my studies for two more years without difficulty but when the guardian she handed me to also died in 2000,i began facing financial challenges to accomplish my educational goals.

My all-time favorite film is'Kabi Kuch Kabigam'.It is an indian film that i watched when i was in India. It features Rahul, an orphaned boy who grew up under the care of his grandparents and later became a cricket star. I like this film because it reminds me the memories of my past.My father and mother separated when i was nine months old and i was put under the care of my grandmother Namyalo Agnes. My grandmother loved me and i too loved her.I began to know what was happening in the world when i was under her care. She was a mother to me.She gave me all the love and care that i needed as a child. The film Kabi Kuch Kabigam highlights the good spirit of an individual who is always there for somebody under all circumstances:in times of joy and in times of happiness. That is what my grandmother was.

When I first heard about COVID-19, I thought that the biblical prophesies about the end times had come to pass. Ringing in my mind was William Miller, the great American theological reformer of the 1840s When the government declared a state of emergency with business lockdown and a curfew, I woke up to my senses. Transport restrictions limited movement. I could no longer walk around beyond 7:00 PM. I could sometimes stay at home for a week or two without visiting any friend. I missed my girlfriend.I thought that i would never meet her again. However, when the lock-down got eased, we met. I was processing an Insurance Policy to back up my loan applications at Centenary Bank and Stanbic Bank. The process came to a standstill. I had applied for a loan to set up a school(Penland High School). My marketing and consultation plans for the School were also disrupted. This was because all the schools and offices had been closed. No activity involving more than ten people could take place.Movement had also become very difficult. I had applied for admission to an American University and a friend was helping me to raise the initial deposit of US $550 through fundraising but when the economic lockdown was declared, all the people who had pledged to contribute withdrew their pledges. We could also not meet and plan. Meetings had been banned. It made my dream of attending an American college in 2020 come to a halt. I had some cassava in the garden which I had planned to sell but about the time of the business lockdown, my mum and four children joined me. It now became insecure to sell any food. The health insecurity became worse. I had been living alone in my room but I was now sharing it with five other occupants. You can imagine this kind of situation amidst the COVID-19 pandemic! We are living in this room by God’s mercies.

This was because my father and mother separated when I was still young. My grandmother told me that this happened when I was nine months old. As child, I didn’t know when that happened. I started understanding the world when I was under my grandmother’s care. I started going to school in 1983 at Aminit Primary School in Soroti.A year later, my father transferred me to Kamuda Primary School and I was made to repeat Primary one(P1).I left the school in 1987 due to political instabilities. Sometimes it could be Sura Mbaya (Helicopter Gunship) bombing crowded areas indiscriminately. We were also facing the problem of the Karimojong Cattle rustlers who were ruthless and could shoot anybody who could dare cross along their way. I am lucky that not even a single bullet kissed any part of my body. One day, I was captured by a Karimojong cattle rustler but released along the way. In 1991, I escaped from my father and went back to Mbale.I later got a job at Mr.C.W.Kabaoggoza Musoke home as an employee in the poultry farm. University education has been a challenge to me after making two unsuccessful attempts at Makerere University in Uganda and Delhi University in India. In both cases, I dropped out due to financial limitations. I plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree and there after enroll for a master’s degree and if possible, a PhD as well. My ambition is to become president of Uganda.I also have a Presidential Marriage Insurance Project in i am searching and nurturing my future presidential spouse. I also plan to be a successful private school entrepreneur.I am currently working on establishing Penland High School,Kiboga. The Penland High School project is planned to impact the lives of 6000 students per annum. It is planned to run 60 scholarships to aid under resourced students but who will be assisted until when they have completed university. I plan to establish Kiboga Scholarship Foundation to assist under resourced students have access to University education after completing their A'level studies. However, this will become effective after i have completed my studies and when i am back to Uganda from the United States America.
    Future Black Leaders Scholarship
As a student and scout at Mbale Secondary School, I got involved in voluntary service in which we used to clean people’s offices, homes and sometimes the compound and wards of Mbale Regional Referral Hospital. I also got involved in student leadership as a prefect and chairman or member of student clubs. All my my entire school life from primary school level until when i completed secondary school,i was a student leader. As Chairman Mbale Secondary School Human Rights Club I advocated for the release of Opito Midadi, a student at Mbale Secondary School who had been arrested by police during a fight between Nkoma Secondary School and Masaba Secondary School. He was released. While a student at Kiira College Butiki, I founded the Uganda Student Administrators Association, a student organization for student leaders. Through this organization, we added a voice to the demand for the creation of the student Loan Scheme in the country. The organization also provided leadership training to student leaders through seminars, workshops and conferences .It later collapsed but after it had done something. In 2001, I hosted Hon. Betty Akech, then State Minister for Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Uganda, at Jinja Secondary in 2001 in one of our seminars. She represented the president of Uganda who had been invited as Chief Guest. Today, I am a teacher with experience but I started teaching at Kiboga Light College and Kiboga Royal College as a volunteer teacher. I have also taught at Kansanga Miracle Center, under the Holiday Program School managed by the Youth Ministry of the church. I have been involved in private school business. When I started Namunsi High School, Mbale in 2007, I offered one full financial aid scholarship to one student. Others benefited from the Classroom Sweeping Workplan in which they could qualify for a tuition fee waiver of SHS:15,000 out of SHS:50,000. When I started Buziga High School in 2014, all the students that I had, got some form of aid. Some got full tuition waivers while others partial aid. When I started Penland High School in 2017, I admitted two students, a boy and a girl. The girl never paid anything. The boy was on partial aid: paying only SHS:60,000 per term of SHS:150,000. Due to financial limitations, all the schools mentioned are no longer in existence. I am from an under resourced background. For the last 20 years, i have been struggling to accomplish University education but in vain.I don't own any assets except a few personal belongings such as clothes, books etc. If offered this scholarship,it will enable me to offset the initial bill at the University and of course give me hope for a brighter future. Upon graduation,i hope to briefly work in the United States of America and thereafter come back to Uganda to embark on my private school business initiative.I also hope to join politics and contest for the post of president of Uganda by 2031.

Mr. Joseph Katende had empty buildings that been abandoned by a school that had shifted. On 10th March 2014, Buziga High School started and by the end of Term One,16 student had enrolled. I am motivated to succeed because it has always been my dream to create change. I have always dreamt to leave this world a better place than I found it. My humble background and current situation and the state of the poor in my country inspire me to succeed. My vision is to establish Penland High School, a project that is planned to impact the lives of over 6000 students and their families per annum. This will help to fight illiteracy while at the same time creating future leaders and entrepreneurs. The Penland High School project will contribute to the growth and expansion of Kiboga Town while at the same time creating market for goods and services. The school is expected to employ 378 workers: 208 teaching staff and 170 non-teaching staff over a period of ten years. The trickle-down jobs are expected to be more. The project is also expected to pay SHS:19.303.594.463 to government as profit tax over a period of 11 years. In addition, Pay As You Earn (PAYE) from workers will also be paid. Through the Corporate Social Responsibility and Philanthropy programs, community risks will be reduced while at same time extending a helping hand to children from under resourced families through scholarships and other financial aid options. Upon completion, when the school is operating at full capacity, it is expected to generate annual revenue of SHS:27.000.000.000 and therefore contribute to Gross Domestic Product of the country through the payment of wages, interest, rent, profits.
Charles R. Ullman & Associates Educational Support Scholarship
It is important for people to get involved in their communities for economic, social and political reasons. Economically, people should get involved by engaging in activities which generate income for survival and proper functioning of the society. The activities done can be for profit or non-profit motives. The for-profit activities done can involve operating businesses that provide goods and services consumed by the community residents. Individuals who operate such businesses earn profits which they use to accumulate wealth for themselves while at same time meeting the needs of the society. If done for non-profit motives, individuals get involved in activities that generate income used to fund non-profit activities that are essential for the survival of the society. Socially, people live in communities made up of people from diverse backgrounds: some under resourced while others have physical deformities. Others are challenged by community risks such as diseases, famine, floods, earthquake, snow fall etc. People should therefore get involved to help such unfortunate sections of the society by either giving back part of their profits earned from their businesses or by getting involved in activities that generate income used to purchase and provide goods and services consumed by such sections of the society. Social injustices such as child abuse, defilement, rape, robbery etc., also call for the attention of responsible individuals in the society through advocacy and activism. Such involvement would call for increased government intervention to correct the morals of individuals with such evil motives. Many people in this world are suffering because of ignorance. They need to be supplied with information and ideas that would correct their perception on issues such as environmental protection, disease control, government policy etc. Government sometimes fails to fulfil its obligations, therefore individuals or groups of individuals with extra resources to spend come in to bridge the gap. Politically, countries have legal frameworks that call for people to get involved in their communities through activities such as political campaigns, voting, leadership, crime prevention etc. As a student and scout at Mbale Secondary School, I got involved in voluntary service in which we used to clean people’s offices, homes and sometimes the compound and wards of Mbale Regional Referral Hospital. I was also always part of the scouts’ team that used to do annual general cleaning at Mr. George William Kiteyiwa’s home. Mr. Kiteyiwa was by then the headteacher at Mbale Secondary School. I also got involved in student leadership as a prefect and chairman or member of student clubs. Here, I had the opportunity of demonstrating leadership skills gained from class as a student while at same time serving my fellow students and the schools that were nurturing me. Today, I am a teacher with experience but I started teaching at Kiboga Light College and Kiboga Royal College as a volunteer teacher. This was because these schools did not have financial resources to employ more teachers I have also taught at Kansanga Miracle Center, under the Holiday Program School managed by the Youth Ministry of the church. The program reaches out to secondary school students from different schools around the country. The boy was on partial aid: paying only SHS:60,000 per term out of school fees of SHS:150,000. All the schools mentioned are no longer in existence. However, all of them had a community service in which giving back to others was involved. Beneficiaries were from under resourced backgrounds. My future plan is to become president of Uganda. As president, I will be at the top of policy implementation to benefit all the citizens and residents in the country. My focus will majorly be on uplifting the well-being of the people through education, health and economic infrastructure. However, I also have plans of becoming a successful private school entrepreneur. I have plans of relaunching Penland High School and establishing Penland University. The Penland High School project is planned to impact the lives of 6000 students per annum. It is planned to run 60 scholarships per annum to benefit under resourced students but who will be assisted until when they have completed University. I also have plans of establishing Kiboga Scholarship Foundation or something of that kind to help students from under resourced backgrounds to access University education after completing their A ‘Level studies. However, this will be after I have completed my studies in the United States of America.
Misha Brahmbhatt Help Your Community Scholarship
When I was young, I got involved in a small-scale business that used to excite me: preparing and selling roasted Gnats and soya beans. I didn’t know then that I was an entrepreneur but I enjoyed giving out small samples to my customers for them to taste before buying, a culture that had come to be known as Jaribu. I was by then living in Aboket, Kamuda sub-county, Soroti district, Uganda. I did not know then that I was giving back to my customers. Years later, as a scout at Mbale Secondary School, I got involved in voluntary service in which we used to clean people’s offices, homes and sometimes the compound and wards of Mbale Regional Referral Hospital. I was also always part of the scouts’ team that used to do annual general cleaning at Mr.George William Kiteyiwa’s home. Mr.Kiteyiwa was by then the headteacher at Mbale Secondary School. However,I still didn’t know that I was giving back to the community part of the knowledge and human resource that I had gained in class and my involvement in scouting. Several years later, after learning about marketing and community involvement, I discovered that most of my previous services were actually acts of giving back to others. Besides, I had also got involved in student leadership as a prefect and chairman or member of student clubs. Here, I had the opportunity of demonstrating leadership skills gained from class as a student while at same time serving my fellow students and the schools that were nurturing me. Today, I am a teacher with experience but I started teaching at Kiboga Light College and Kiboga Royal College as a volunteer teacher. All the schools mentioned are no longer in existence. However, all of them had a community service in which giving back to others was involved. My actions have impacted the lives of others in many different ways: as scout,I helped make homes and workplaces clean and therefore fit for human habitation; as a student leader,I corrected many indisciplined students who would have perhaps dropped out of school; and as a teacher and private school owner,I have taught and given hope to students from under resourced backgrounds, some of whom later progressed to university. Some are politicians holding big offices.Mr.Ssenteza Kajubi, the current Chairman Local Council 3 of Kibiga Subcounty in Kiboga, was my student at Kiboga Light College when I served as a volunteer teacher. My future plan is to become president of Uganda. However,I also have plans of becoming a successful private school entrepreneur.I have plans of relaunching Penland High School. The Penland High School project is planned to impact the lives of 6000 students per annum. It is planned to offer a few scholarships to under resourced students but who will be assisted until when they have completed college/University.
    Impact Scholarship for Black Students
My name is Kiganda Nathan. I was born in 1977 to Mukasa Nelson and Namusana Elizabeth (Betty) who by then were residents of Aboket Village, Kamuda subcounty in Soroti district, Uganda. My grandmother told me that I was born in a bathroom. However, mum says that she got labor pains at dusk as she was carrying water to the bathroom for a bath. I must be lucky, for the bible says that, ‘that which is born of water is made clean’. This was because my father and mother separated when I was still young. My grandmother told me that this happened when I was nine months old. As child, I didn’t know when that happened. I started understanding the world when I was under my grandmother’s care. I am a war survivor. In 1987,I and my family lived in a war zone. The war broke out when I was ten years old. We were by this time staying in Aboket opposite the Aboket Cotton stores where my father had bought land and constructed a house for my grandmother. In 1987, the rebels of the Uganda People’s Defence Army (UPDA) took over my school and turned it into a rebel training camp and for a year, the school didn’t operate. I am a survivor because I witnessed the music of fire exchange between the UPDA rebels and the National Resistance Army (NRA). This could sometimes begin at 6:00AM to 9:00AM in the morning. Sometimes it could be Sura Mbaya (Helicopter Gunship) bombing crowded areas indiscriminately. I am lucky that not even a single bullet kissed any part of my body. At the same time, we were facing the problem of the Karimojong Cattle rustlers who were ruthless and could shoot anybody who could dare cross along their way. One day, I was captured by a Karimojong cattle rustler but released along the way. He found me at The Aboket borehole near the Cattle Dip. I was busy enjoying pumping water that I didn’t sense any danger. I only woke up to my senses when I and one other child were the only two who had remained with a gunman already having his prey under grip. My father was a village tycoon. He owned two retail shops, cattle, boats, fishnets and land for farming and a decent house. During the war period, the shops were looted and the cattle were raided by the cattle rustlers. We later left Soroti and migrated to Mbale district. The insurgency affected my father. It made him poor.At a tender age, I started working to raise money to pay for school fees. At Kolonyi Primary school, during holidays I worked in a restaurant owned by the widow of the late Wamimbi who was our neighbor as well as an in-law. I also worked for Ibrahim Ndaula, son of Semei Kakungulu, former Kabaka(king) of Bukedi and first President of the Busoga Lukiko, as a brick maker. I could sometimes work in people’s gardens and at construction sites as a porter. In Kiboga,at Muyenje Primary School,i burnt charcoal to raise school fees and at Namunsi Primary School,Mbale, i worked in a poultry farm. My lower secondary school education was financed by a partial bursary from Nakoloke sub-county and my earnings from working in a poultry farm.I got a bursary because I was the best student in Nakaloke sub-county in the 1993 Primary Leaving Examinations.I got six(6) aggregates. I attended my Lower secondary school at Mbale Secondary School(1993-1997)  where I featured as a bright student in class and an accomplished student leader. I was the second best student of the school in the 1997 Uganda Certificate of Education(UCE) examinations administered by the Uganda National Examinations Board.I passed in Division one with 17 aggregates. In 1997, in hotly contested elections,I was elected Assistant Headboy of the school. I attended my upper secondary school(Advanced Level) at Kiira College  Butiki in Jinja Uganda from where I sat for the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education(UACE) examinations and scored as follows; History – C Economics – B Christian Religious Education(CRE) – A Literature in English – D General Paper – Credit 3. I was a Deputy Headprefect at Kiira College Butiki as well as President Uganda Student Administrators' Association(USAA). University education has been a challenge to me after making two unsuccessful attempts at Makerere University in Uganda and Delhi University in India. In both cases, I dropped out due to financial limitations. My future ambition is to become the president of Uganda.College education would add value to the bid and it would be of great importance if earned from abroad. In Africa, we have a saying that ‘He who knows foreign lands is worth being known’. I also hope to use my college education as security against legal or constitutional changes relating to the educational requirements of the president or Head of state of Uganda. The current policy requires the president to at least possess a minimum of the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education or it’s equivalent. I currently possess the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education. However,I do not possess a college degree. There is a proposal in parliament to change the educational requirements of the president to a college degree. I have a Presidential Marriage Insurance Project which I am using to search and nurture my future presidential spouse. At the moment,I am single but in a relationship and if offered enough financial aid,I hope to travel with my spouse. I have plans to set up a modern secondary school(Penland High School) and a university(Penland University) in Kiboga. Penland High school is planned to have a capacity of 6000 students and is likely to be the first of it's kind in Kiboga District and the neighboring areas.
    RushOrderTees Young Entrepreneurs Scholarship
It has always been my dream to create change and to leave this world a better place than I found it. My humble background, financial position and the state of the poor in my country inspire me to do something to change the situation. I have many options of achieving my dream: advocacy, working for the government and entrepreneurship. I have almost tried all the options available. However, I have discovered that some have an end while some only help to achieve others. Working for the government has an end due to retirement policies and replacements, transfers etc. Advocacy complements all the other available options, including those not mentioned here. However, entrepreneurship has multi-functional ends. Besides, it can allow me to continue impacting the world even when I have ceased to exist. My private school business initiative can allow me to climb the income ladder while at same time impacting thousands of young people thereby commissioning disciples who will not only follow in my shoes but also witness about the impact created at the right time. I have a political ambition. I hope to ascend to the presidency of Uganda through democratic means. This may perhaps take place in 2031. Entrepreneurship can give me the freedom and independence to steer events and circumstances to my desired direction and destiny and to also create a legacy that will be told and witnessed thousand and thousands of years. And moreover, this can be done without conflicting with government policy while at same time allowing me to contribute to the ongoing development activities in my country. It can also generate income that can be used to fund other programs of interest. Upon completion, when the school is operating at full capacity, it is expected to generate annual revenue of SHS:27.000.000.000 and therefore contribute an equivalent amount to the Gross Domestic Product of the country through the payment of wages, interest, rent and profits. The school is planned to recruit students from all the parts of the country. This is expected to contribute to national unity and intercultural relations among the diverse peoples of our country. Uganda has about 56 known tribes. International admissions are also planned and these will lead to improved relations and diplomacy between Uganda, our neighbors and all the countries that will have been represented, thus promoting international citizenship.

I am motivated to succeed because it has always been my dream to create change. I have always dreamt to leave this world a better place than I found it. My humble background and current situation and the state of the poor in my country inspire me to succeed.

It is not fair for financial institutions to consider only investors with collateral for loans. Even the under-resourced with bright investment ideas can put loan money into productive use. It is not the collateral that makes the loan productive. The investment plan and the capabilities of the investor coupled with the external environmental factors are the ones that often determine the success of a business venture. Prospective investors without cash are often more capable and determined to succeed than those with enough financial resources. They have bright and honest ideas that if implemented would create change beyond imagination. Many of them often apply for funding but are let down by unfair financial policies. They are often told that they don’t meet the criteria or that they don’t have anything to show that they can pay back the loan. Funders/Financial institutions normally look for tangibles or something that is already in existence before loan approval. However, majority of the prospective investors normally lack those tangibles. A child is not born an adult but a baby who needs care and protection. It is the work of the parents to nurture the baby into maturity. However, financial institutions often run away from this responsibility when they reject requests for funding by under resourced prospective investors. And when that happens, such individuals are denied an opportunity to climb the income ladder and to participate in the development process of their communities. Change starts from an idea but not the tangibles that financial institutions often look for. I have a personal experience to illustrate. From 2014, I have been working to launch a multi-billion-shilling school project: Penland High School, Kiboga.I have done consultations with engineers, successful school entrepreneurs, legislators, local Authorities and Education officials. Since the school could not be located in the air, I moved around Kiboga Town negotiating with land owners on prospects of acquiring their pieces of land. Mr. Kwerigira, a land owner on Kiboga Hill, accepted to sell part of his land. He even gave me a photocopy of his land title. I engaged the Kiboga Town authorities and the District Education Department about until when they became receptive to the project. I did marketing and consultations for the project in over 30 churches and 70 primary schools, in village meetings and in seminars, conferences and workshops held within Kiboga Town. I wrote a business plan explaining my detailed arrangements, including the capacity of the school, facilities, employment effect, academic offerings and many more. Penland High School project is a 6000-student capacity school, expected to be set up on 50 acres of land located up on Kiboga Hill. Once implemented, it will be the biggest school investment in Kiboga District and the surrounding areas. The school is planned to have sixty classrooms, eight residential halls, seven laboratories, a library, Main Hall, Administration block, departmental offices, staff quarters, canteen,Health Center, Spiritual Life Centers, Park yard, roads and pathways. The school is also planned to employ 378 workers:208 teaching staff and 170 non-teaching staff, over a period of 10 years. The trickle-down jobs will be more. Upon completion, when the school is operating at full capacity, it is expected to generate annual revenue of SHS:27.000.000.000(Twenty-seven billion shillings). However, this is expected to be achieved in twelve years. The project is expected to pay SHS:19.303.594.463 to government as profit tax over a period of 11 years. The project is planned to be financed by a bank loan and SHS:36.000.000.000(Thirty-six billion shillings) is required for its implementation. The loan is expected to be secured by an agreement, assets purchased, structures erected, successive investments during the loan pay back period and an insurance policy. I Proposed a grace period of 5 years and a loan duration period of 11 years with projected interest amount of SHS:22.268.260.123. I applied for the loan from Stanbic Bank, Uganda and Centenary Bank. I attached my business plan, bill of quantities, photocopies of the proposed land site title etc. However, I didn’t have collateral to secure the loan. Both banks advised that I first start the school before granting the loan. However, starting requires money which I don’t have. My only starting point is my business plan containing my investment ideas.
