Hello, my name is Nathan Davis. I am a second-year student at the University of Northwestern Ohio. The programs I am taking are High-Performance Motorsports and Automotive Technology. Both programs are Associate degree programs. As a child, I grew up around fast cars and powerful trucks. This gave me a passion for anything that is powered by internal combustion. I currently have a 1946 Chevrolet pickup that I am working on building into a street rod. I chose this vehicle because when I was little my dad built a 1941 Chevrolet pro-street pickup, which is the same body style as my `46. Most of my childhood was spent in the garage with dad while he was working on it or going to car shows with him in it. My dad and that truck are what led me to become a UNOH student. Since I started my college education at UNOH I have made many friends that are involved in forms of racing that I never thought about before. Due to this, I have learned just as much outside the classroom and at the race track as I have in class. Before starting school drag racing and monster truck were what had my attention. Now that I am almost two years into my three-year program my eyes have been opened up to dirt track racing and stock car racing(i.e.. NASCAR). One of my friends owns three UMP modifieds, and during the 2021 season, I helped him at his races. We raced from Illinois to North Carolina on our free weekends. He has since graduated from UNOH and now works for an ARCA team in North Carolina. Thanks to him I now have an internship on the ARCA team in which he is employed.
