John Young 'Pursue Your Passion' Scholarship
Since graduating High school, my love for psychology has only deepened,
especially as I recognized how principles intersect with business. This realization inspired me to pursue a career in marketing where I can combine my interest in social psychology and consumer behavior to make a meaningful impact. I’m also considering a double major in business, which I hope will enrich my understanding and broaden my capabilities within the field.
I’m drawn to marketing because it has the power to shape, perspectives and drive trends. However, I’m aware that marketing can often contribute to overconsumption and can perpetuate harmful environmental practices. My goal is to challenge this norm by promoting responsible, sustainable consumerism. I aim to work with a company that aligns with these values where I can apply my psychology knowledge to develop campaigns that prioritize, ethical conception, eco-friendly practices, and community impact.
I believe that marketing doesn’t have to rely on pushing unnecessary products or exploiting resources; rather, it can be a force of good. So, through this path I hope to help build a culture that values sustainability, transparency, and purpose over pure profit. It’s a vision that fuels my professional ambitions and inspires me to approach my education with focus and passion.
In pursuing this career, I am committed using my skills to drive positive change and make a lasting impact, supporting a shift towards a more responsible future.
